  1. On the bright side, tickets are going to be cheap and plentiful the rest of the year for those of us who *gasp* actually go to games when the team isn't playing well, unlike the new "fans" the team has gotten since '07.
  2. If by the end of the month we're 10 games out or something like that, I really hope they don't use Yo much that last month. He's been worked pretty hard, especially lately with the 4-man rotation. No reason to take any chance with him.
  3. I'd go with Culvers or Fuddruckers.
  4. Agreed with this. Never had any problem with Vista. Downloaded Win7 from TechNet yesterday and running it now. Again, no problems, but for those of us who used Vista with no problems all these years, Win7 will seem more like a SP-level upgrade.
  5. I know when the Bradley Center started charging a $1/ticket facility fee several years back, the Bucks covered it for season ticket holders the first year or two. In the unlikely event this happens, it's possible the Brewers might take care of us season seatholders in a similar way.
  6. I remember that they let that coin company sponsor God Bless America last year. Kind of hard to ask people to remove their hats when you are getting $ from the song, lol.
  7. eh, they gave him a chance to finish it at least. well done manny. keep it up.
  8. Probably going to regret not getting more than 2 runs that inning.
  9. Yeah, what's his problem? He didn't even play that day in Cincy - could have flown in for the wedding, lol. Braun seems very "aware" of how the game is played, both on and off the field. And as for the fans turning on him, I doubt it would happen. That HR vs the Cubs last year bought him about a decade of immunity from that stuff I'd think.
  10. Yep, just a warm body to get us through the rest of the year. Nothing more, nothing less. Anyone who still thought Melvin was going to make a major (and foolish) move is delusional.
  11. Uh, the majority of us on here, who most would define as "die hard" believe Doug is doing the right thing for the franchise. Perhaps you, my friend, are the casual fan who just starting paying attention 2 years ago.
  12. If you would have made this thread a week ago, you likely would have had them taking 2 vs the Braves and at least 3 vs the Nats, and we saw how that turned out, so it's hard to have much optimism in the rest of these "ideal" scenarios happening.
  13. The Brewers have enough "fan friendly" guys coming back next year - Braun, Fielder (most likely), Gallardo, etc... that I don't think not making a deal will hurt ticket sales for next year at all. Most fans, even the ones who only started coming to games last year, know that the team should contend for a playoff spot next year as well. There will be some who were spoiled by last year and thought that it was going to be like that every year - trade for a superstar, make the playoffs, etc... but hopefully those are few enough that they won't make a dent in the overall attendance numbers if they stop coming as often. Like hawing said, the economic situation will play a bigger role than what the team does, either on or off the field this season.
  14. OK, so how long until the 485th "maybe this will jump start the team" comment is made from Bill & Brian?
  15. Just make sure that pitcher is fine with getting very little run support most games and therefore very few wins. A better pitcher every 5th game doesn't help much when they can't score more than 3 runs most games.
  16. Club Level is an awesome deal for 20-packs as well. I think I paid $28 this year for tickets (new subscriber is $30) with a face value of $40 for regular games and $60 for marquee games. Huge discount there. Plus the fact that the Brewers very rarely offer any ticket promotions in the Club Level (most are in Terrace & Loge) means your "investment" is pretty secure as you won't have people sitting around you who consistently paid less than you did through some promo.
  17. I'm selfishly loving this as it likely means no ticket price increases for next year and less clueless bandwagon "fans" at MP next season.
  18. He can't read the ball from the booth either. Every lazy fly ball is "launched" according to him, lol.
  19. I feel sorry for Melvin. He knows like most of us that a deal like this won't lead to us making the playoffs in all likelihood (and might hurt us long-term), but I believe his hand is being forced by the whole idea that 3 million in attendance means they have to make some kind of move to appease the fanbase. So they'll make a move just to say they made a move.
  20. A perfect example of the "new" Brewers fans that Doug is thankfully ignoring...
  21. Alright, time to enjoy the rest of my Sunday. Yet another reason why trading for a pitcher won't matter. The guys we have are way too inconsistent to make a playoff run this year. Might as well be sellers and get stronger for the next few years.
