Most of the "fans" (who just started being fans in the last 2 years) were spoiled by last season's success and the CC trade. My hope is they complete this season with the guys they have. If they don't make the playoffs, not a big deal. As it's been said in this thread, the future is bright. No need to hurt our chances for years to come for another 1st round playoff exit. -
Doug is just throwing stuff out there so he's not the scapegoat if the Brewers don't finish well this year. He knows the fans (and Mark A.) will support Braun and he doesn't want to be seen as the only "bad guy" in this situation. We need "Team Braun" and "Team Melvin" t-shirts printed up for this last homestand before the ASG.

Very sad. I know him and Favre were kind of close - same agent, worked together on hurricane relief stuff a few years ago, both (initially) retired around the same time.

I remember on the post game last night, one of the players interviewed (either Braun or Hart) was asked how big a sweep would be, and their response was along the lines of "the main thing is we won the series" as if they were happy to have 2 and this game wasn't as important.

Yeah, don't want to jinx it with 3 very tough series ahead. And there isn't too much out there to "buy" anyway this year. Unless there is a deal they can't refuse, I'm fine keeping things as they are this year rather than making a bad trade just for the sake of trading.

I know a few years ago I was talking with one of the stadium workers and he mentioned that they were thinking about doing something with those glass windows to allow them to open some of them to allow for increased airflow during hot days. Maybe they could combine that work with some kind of tinting or something. But considering how long they've been putting off the new scoreboard, I'm guessing the money just isn't there.

Bucks won't make the QO to CV. Don't really understand why they wouldn't - $4.6mm for a year isn't that bad, and if he gets a high dollar long-term offer from someone, you just don't match it. Nothing to lose by making the offer, but that's why they are the Bucks... -

The idiot in section 321, row 5 or 6 who feels the need to scream and grunt everytime a Brewers batter hits a ball in the air like it's a 500' HR. And also his 8 failed attempts yesterday to start a "We want Glavine" or "We want Pedro" chant during Suppan's struggles.

Sandoval is a little quirky with his 83-step pre-at bat ritual (which got very annoying by today's game after how well he's played), so these allegations are not unexpected from him. -
just got home from the game. just brutal. the game obviously, but despite being extremely windy outside, none of that breeze made it in the park so it was pretty uncomfortable.

I think people were spoiled by last year. If every season you want Doug (or whomever the GM is) to make a move to counter someone else, we are going to have a few decent years like last year (with no guarantee or a WS or even close) and then be really bad for a really long time when we've traded away anyone promising in the minors. Now if you can trade some expendable guys, that's fine, but you probably aren't getting anyone in return who's going to help much. Or you could go in the opposite direction like the guys on NSBB who are posting gems like this: "I hope they throw batteries at him from the bleachers."
