  1. I admit I had become completely apathetic towards the team over the last few weeks but for some reason todays loss really has me feeling demoralized. That along with Attanasio saying Macha wasnt being fired monday and saying that the fans will have to "deal" with our GM makes me really question the future of the franchise.
  2. I too have always appreciated how hard Bush tries but with an average fastball at 86 or so he just wont be able to be effective.
  3. I should be happy that they battled back and finally showed some life but I just cant take moral victories at this point. I dont remember the last time I was this disappointed in a loss. Im really drained by all the losing and should probably stop watching for a few days but i know I wont.
  4. The more Corey hits the more appealing he will look to teams like the Giants who need offense and have young pitching to offer in return.
  5. In this economy you better put a compelling team on the field or the fanbase will just stop coming. I wonder if Attanassio tells his clients that they are going to have to deal with a poor investment manager when the results are less than stellar. This team is well on its way to a terrible season and keeping Melvin and Macha is not going to change that in a positive way.
  6. What owner tells the fans that they are going to have to deal with the general manager for a long time. This guy is really going to alienate the fans with comments like this. It wont be long before the stadium starts to look like Cleveland and Pittsburgh where there are entirely empty sections.
  7. Basically that no changes were coming, its not Macha's fault blah blah blah. He also made comments before the game that Melvin will be the GM for a long time to come. I would say that we better get used to losing because this looks like its just the beginning.
  8. You completely read my mind in regards to possible future hires. I bet Attanasio loves Willie from his playing days and thats a major issue. As for Phillips I doubt he would be in the picture due to his situation but you are correct in pointing out that we done know what the owner would look for in a GM hire. I hope he wouldnt want a has been name for GM and does good research to find guys like Arbuckle and White.
  9. There are plenty of good options as replacements for both Macha and Melvin. For the rest of the season I much prefer Sveum over Randolph but want neither after the season. In fact I would prefer to keep Macha instead of Willie who is an awful manager. As for Melvin i have two good suggestions; Mike Arbuckle who was the former scouting director for the Phillies who drafted the likes of Ryan Howard, Chase Utley, and Cole Hamels to name a few. He was wrongly passed over for the GM job there in favor of Ruben Amaro and fits teh Brewers criterior to a tee in that he has put together a strong farm system. The other guy I like is Logan White of the Dodgers who is their scouting director. White has drafted the likes of Matt Kemp, chad Billingsley and Clayton Kershaw. Both of these men have shown a great eye for talent which is what we need as GM of our team.
  10. If he was really clocked at 97 last night I highly doubt that he is injured.
  11. If Gomez could ever learn plate discipline he would be really good. He is great defensively and has big time power potential as he showed again tonight.
  12. Come on, where's your usual optimism?Should I be optimistic about this organization right now. Not only has the big league team been awful but most of our top prospects have taken a step back so far this year.
  13. I wouldnt be picking college pitchers from the big ten. I too was skeptical of the Arnett pick but this looks disastrous. Hopefully this year we pick a high school pitcher with a power arm or a high school bat with power like Josh Sale.
  14. Based on what? He's had 1 bad start this season........ well, 2 now but the ump is beyond terrible. Bush cannot win with his 85 mph fastball.
  15. I hate to say this but Dave Bush is close to done as a major league pitcher. The guy will not survive with his fastball at 85 mph.
  16. We should just be called the bad news Brewers. This play is beyond disgusting.
  17. That umpire has no business in baseball acting like that. Besides that Bush is terrible.
  18. I definitely agree with these sentiments. With that said there are managers that do have positive qualities such as handling young players well and handling the bullpen well. Macha has no positive attributes at all and the fact that he dislikes young players should have been reason enough for him not to be hired. Bobby V is very good startegically and handles young players very well. Davey Johnson is another guy that has shown himself to be an excellent manager as well but I dont think he would have any interest. As for Randolph he is strategically inept and the players didnt get along with him in New York. Dale gets along with the players just fine but he is in love with small ball as he showed two years ago. I realize most managers are inept but Sveum and even more so Randolph are not upgrades over Macha. Attanassio is almost surely gonna want Randolph since he grew up in New York as a yankees fan and probably liked Willie as a player.
  19. Believe me if we hire Randolph we will be even worse off than we are now. Randolph might be the worst manager I have even seen. If you think Macha cant handle a bullpen correctly wait till you see randolph in action. This potential action is disturbing to say the least. At least with Sveum the players like him even if he will be bunting in the first inning. When was the last time the Brewers had a competent manager?
  20. If Vargas is dumped look for him to be pitching for the Mets by the time they come to Milwaukee.
  21. If Melvin even considers a deal like this he should be fired on the spot. Fister is another starter with no upside, Ackley has been absolutely panned by scouts this year and Kotchman has no value whatsoever. Z would make a good trading partner for Fielder but unfortunately for us they have a terrible farm system.
  22. If this is true I really hope the team somehow goes on a winning streak and saves Macha's job. As much as I cant stand Macha he is far far better than randolph who makes Macha look like Earl Weaver.
