  1. That was a joke. Reverse mojo, if you will.Thank you, it worked the first two http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif, but unfortunately the sweep is oh so elusive for this team.
  2. The Crew has absolutely no chance to get this one, forgetaboutit.
  3. Just added the Trapster speed trap alert app to my iPhone. Looks like a handy resource tool.
  4. If Doug really wants to tick off the fanbase, he will trade Parra or Narveson to make room for Davis in the rotation.
  5. TLB, that is the ideal top speed limit for most interstates. I-80 in Nebraska can be 90 mph.
  6. Most hwy speed limits serve only to make money and not provide for optimum safety, especially in the state of WI. Its funny how Americans, similar to us here in Wisconsin, have concluded that speed limits of 70 and 75 mph are appropriate in other, neighboring states. I would agree WI traffic "laws" are more plebeian than other states laws. What really matters, is that there are terrible drivers, many of which drive unlicensed and uninsured. Transponders indicating driver licensing and vehicle registration should be a priority. Then the coppers will know who to pull over on quota day. Not some excellent driver who happened to miss a reduction in a freeway speed limit in time to avoid a $265 extortion fee. But yeah, I am really glad the state of WI had deemed us unfit to drive as fast as citizens in other states. We must really be that different and more lame than those people.
  7. If there is a market for those guys, I certainly hope they are traded.
  8. Its hard for me to know for sure if its going to be a mistake, because I don't have any insight into what other GMs are going to offer up. As a fan, I want to see them either tear it up with a massive run or tank it completely. The middling around sub- to just over mediocrity is fan purgatory. At least Pirate fans know they are in hell, right?
  9. I think we have to be sellers if we are indeed "out of it." There is still a small window to get back into it. Its not like the Reds and/or Cards are running away with the division. If the Crew can climb back to .500 and be within 5 games of the division lead by the All Star break and are showing signs of playing good baseball, I don't think Melvin is going to sell.
  10. I really wish Davis would just go away. I can't believe I have felt that way about so many of the Opening Day players, but there are still two left to deal with (this year).
  11. On base percentage is not the only determinant of a lead-off hitters worth. Yeah, speed helps as well.
  12. Actually, having negative data on your driving record would be the consequence of breaking the law. Yeah, if only I was a 21 year-old female with a cute face, I wouldn't have to deal with any of this. I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience that our plebeian traffic laws have caused you. Why, are you the copper that was set up 150 feet past the speed limit change on the freeway on quota day? If not then I don't see why you need to apologize.
  13. Escobar looks like a great option at leadoff to me, so don't put me in charge.
  14. He was released for his play this year, not any other year. He was released because he sucks, and can no longer get MLB hitters out consistently. The Mariners don't have many MLB caliber hitters in their lineup.
  15. This is not some one in a billion occurrence that NEEDS some other explanation. It's fun to speculate but none of us will ever know if it's luck or something else. That's true, and it could very well be all random chance. I do get the feeling he's probably pressing a bit with runners on base, and my evidence would be the emotional release he had in the dugout after that home run with a runner on last night. Whether that actually affects his at bats is all speculation, as you said.
  16. I think you will find its not out of the ordinary. The Brewers hit a lot of home runs, and many of them will be solo shots.
  17. I would find it very difficult to root for a Brewer's team with Ozzie Guillen running the show. That's how I feel with Ken Macha running the show. And I said rather meaningless, not completely meaningless. It is rather meaningless. With the obvious exceptions, it doesn't really make a significant difference where batters hit in the lineup, just so they hit.
  18. I use Avast and like it. Its very lite on resources and easy to use.
  19. It's not extortion because nobody is forcing you to pay the higher fine in exchange for the zero point violation. Nobody is forcing you to plead no contest. You have choices. That's why it's not extortion. With any type of extortion, there is always a choice. In this case, having negative data on my driving extract is the consequence of not paying the government the extra cheese. Not quite knee-breaking, but there is a similarity.
  20. It can't be ruled out But it could so very easily just be random chance. Uhhhh, this is all I ever say. But its always an argument. It could be that Prince's hemorrhoids only flare up when there are runners on base. Not likely, but there sure is a possibility. it's possible that pitchers are working around him, which could lead to Prince going out of the zone after pitches, which could lead to worse numbers. This would go against the luck theory.
  21. I have played single deck BJ in many casinos. All Russ was trying to say is for some reason people just don't like to believe in luck. Its not just about believing in luck, which I do very much. Its about believing luck explains EVERYTHING that can't be explained by what you see with the naked eye. Also, I used PA with runners on base, which shows a bigger deviation from the mean than just looking at his smaller amount of PA with RISP.
  22. I refuse to enable Packer fans. What did you say about Aaron Rodgers? Why I oughta...
  23. Well, let me tell you how Milwaukee County now works. You go to your date, they give you a sheet of paper with all the possible tickets issued to the lot of people there, and next to each violation is an option or two (pleas). I was there to contest a 64 mph in a 50 zone violation. Keep in mind, I am a very good driver, and would put my skills up against anyone who constantly feels the need to travel at or under the posted speed limit. I am just about ready to shop my policy, so I don't need a moving violation on my record. My record is clean, so the judge gave me the option to choose either plea option and enter no contest to the violation. Original violation: 10-19 over posted speed limit; $189 fine, 4 points. Option 1: same fine, Faulty speedometer, 2 points (still a moving violation) Option 2: $270 fine, Illegal parking, 0 points Needless to say I upgraded my ticket to the parking violation. How is this not extortion?
  24. It's like sitting around a blackjack table and having people explain to me that 3 consecutive blackjacks by the dealer couldn't POSSIBLY be random chance. I don't see a correlation between blackjack and baseball. A baseball player's productive outcome is not based on a set of possible outcomes effected by past occurrences (four aces are already out, therefore leaving no chance a blackjack can occur on the next hand). There are other variables at play other than just luck, like intestinal fortitude.
