  1. Do you really think managing is the only reason we aren't at the Cubs' level? Yes. The adjustments just don't seem to be there, but its not surprising considering the other easy in-game decisions that can't be made correctly. However, Bill Hall is solely responsible for 6 of the Twins 9 runs tonight. So I put this game on that dude. Maybe he should spend less time crying to his agent over the phone and more time remembering how to play MLB caliber baseball.
  2. I'm really glad I didn't go to this game. Slowey has not only embarrassed the Crew with his pitching, but he single-handedly outhit them as well. I may have to bring a paper bag to the game tomorrow, just in case. GAME OVER!
  3. As for the W-L category, last I checked we were 4 games above .500 and on pace for our predicted finish of 85-90 wins. If that's good enough for you then good for you. It won't be enough to earn a playoff spot, therefore its not good enough for me.
  4. Sure mediocre pitchers have dominating performances, but not very often against contenders. The Brewers are working hard to look like pretenders with the constant, yes constant, domination by pitchers with lines like Slowey's. Pretenders that are 3rd in the NL in home runs. Bravo Brewers, bravo on your 3rd in the NL with home runs. Edit: That is just brutal Hall. Who in the HELL would want to trade for this sucker butt. Just poor. But I hear he is a nice guy and that's cool.
  5. He has a great mentor in Cameron to work him along.
  6. Key word is when. How has that worked out in the W-L category this year? I'm not against home runs by any means, but this team is forcing it and it shows.
  7. Yeah, because it couldn't possibly be the Brewers approach. Its always the opponents "command" and "having it going" that shuts them down. Its all about excuses at this point. But its plain to see they are all just trying to get some stats by overswinging. Good thing Ned has their back.
  8. I think we all have MMP to thank for this fine display of home run derby attempts. Just look at the swings (Cameron), they are all trying to hit home runs! They are constantly missing 88 mph fastballs down the middle (and no Dale, they aren't down in the zone) because of overswinging.
  9. I was referring to the short leash. And I don't care if he bashes his players to the press or not. I care that his philosophy changes from day to day. I don't see how more people don't catch this.
  10. I guess I do, like when Cameron stands in the batters box to watch his homerun hit the foul pole. What happens if its off the wall... long single, that's what happens. I can't believe you haven't seen players dog to first base on infield grounders or pop-ups. It happens every game! The only team I see religiously hustle every play out is the St Louis Cardinals. And I don't put that onun on the manager, its on the players. The manager manages the game, the players play it. You can't convince me that Ned "8th Inning Guy" Yost is changing the human behavior of these athletes. With all due respect, its not a good arguement. Now, like Melvin said, changing the culture is what he may have accomplished. Changed it from a laughing stock circus to a competitive atmosphere. Now we need someone to take it from competitive to dominating. Ned Yost will never dominate anyone, he is too stubborn and not smart enough.
  11. The Phillies have one team rule. Hustle. If you don't, you're benched. Last time I checked, the Phillies had made it to the playoffs more recently than the Brewers I find it hard to believe the Phillies only have one team rule. It might be called the "one team rule," but I doubt its the only one.
  12. Sexon didn't always run to first Come on here, there are plenty of current Brewers that are guilty of this. When Ned came that did change. Even if the players weren't any good they played hard and always to the end. While I might in the future, I haven't bought into this yet. I just don't see it. When they are down, or give up 5 in the 8th to go down by 2 runs, they do seem to quit at times. I have seen enough quit in this team to not be able to buy into the "played hard and always to the end" belief. For me, I don't see it.
  13. Mota's been playing with fire for much of the season. In spite of Yost's public defense of Mota, my guess is he's on a very short leash for meaningful situations. You mean since last Friday (6/7), correct? At least the man was smart enough to put Hart at the top of the order (as he should be). I bet he can even make his own grilled cheese. That Ned Yost, doing just enough to make the right people happy. Starting now, I am going to model my professional career after that of Ned Yost. I'm not that smart, so it should work very, very well.
  14. Mota's career ERA is 3.93. Even with the outing today, where the runs should have been unearned, does this seem significant? Good research Jay. Do you think Ned Yost was looking at all those numbers when he made his decision? How many of those 2 inning games did Mota pitch the night before a day game? Also, what happened to the 8th inning guy only coming in with a 3 run or less lead? Its really all about the contradictions. Those are what frustrates me the most. And the lack of common sense, that frustrates me too.
  15. What part of "Mota induced the groundball and Prince screwed it up, with 2 out" makes it Mota's fault? Good grief! I think it was supposed to be, "Prince Fielder and Guillermo Mota everybody!" Just the wrong one was first.
  16. Who isn't wondering why Mota pitched the 8th today after going 2 last night? With a 4 run lead, again. This thread should never be on the second page.
  17. Where is the logic with pitching Mota that inning? Somebody please help me.
  18. Will Ned let Mota give up 5 runs here? I am perplexed. Absolutely out of patience with this man.
  19. Braves about to blow a bases loaded, no out opportunity.
  20. Yeah, unlike yesterday. Oh wait... it was a four run lead. Ned has me so confused.
  21. I'm a little surprised to see Sheets out there this inning. Where is the leading by 4 or more runs 7th inning guy?
  22. Well at least Bill Hall can be hit by RHP. Did I hear an echo?
  23. Ned's getting green light happy now.
  24. If he's being pitched around (as was alluded to), I'd say he's much more likely to walk four times than strike out thrice. Pitched around or not, in his career Prince has waked 4 times in a game once while striking out 3 times or more 10 times. 3 Ks is more likely. Edit: If you are referring to IBB then yes, Prince will not swing at those pitches.
