Our classy fans can find a reason in any game to boo. Still a 5 run lead, people. Shesh. I won't condone the booing, but I think they were sensing something. Now a one run lead.
Would any of the Yost "haters" actually disagreed with putting Torres in even if he had blown the game? Ned Yost is not a good manager. I was begging for him to replace Mota with Torres, and he did. For that I thanked Ned Yost in this very thread.
Haha, I see. Seemed like you were referring to a rather specific argument in your difficult-to-read post. BTW, who are these devil rays you are referring to?
You win. You're right. You're brilliant. Thank you, but brilliant is an overstatement. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif I, like Ned, am an idiot. Don't be so hard on yourself, not everything is black and white. Now you have to say 3 good things about yourself.
I didn't say that anyone disagreed with every decision Ned makes... every move the guy makes is viewed with a skewed eye, and the assumption is that it's going to be the wrong decision. Contradiction? If someone thinks every move the guy makes is going to be wrong, isn't it safe to you you think someone out there disagrees with every decision made? If someone believes a move to be wrong, then that person most likely disagrees with the decision, right?
You would've chosen DiFelice. I never said this. What I did say was he would have been a better option than Tavarez (who is no longer with us thank God). The fact that he chose to stick with Tavarez rather than bring in some other schmoe doesn't bother me in the least. I can see why you are defending Yost regarding this game. I'm happy you weren't bothered. I was. If you wish to continue this debate of semantics though, I can go all day. I already won the semantics debate (unless you wish to argue Tavarez was the best available option no matter how bad all the other options were), so I am done with that argument. You say you used the word "about" to discount the equality of the bad options, but then continue to say there was no difference in who they brought in. Contradiction, which is it? Equal or not equal, no about about it. then you should be upset that he pitched the 11th I was.
And for you to continue to harp on the fact that DiFelice was a far superior option I mentioned it once. And you did say about equally, that is correct. But in saying this you are admitting there were better options, unless you argue that Tavarez was the best option.
I usually think Tim Kurkijan does a fine job, but this thought is ludicrous. Sure the Cubs would like Sheets, he is a staff ace. But why mention something that has almost 0% chance of happening. Hey Tim, might the Cubs go after the Mets Santana or the Jays Halladay as well? ESPN is just desperate to see the Cubs win the World Series, so this kind of banter is pretty much towing the Corporate line imo.
