  1. He walks way too many and his strikeouts have declined. He is the number 4 starter on this team. He keeps us in games. Not sure what else you want from the bottom two starters. Most teams have a revolving door with those spots and get much worse production. Any team would love to have our problem.
  2. I have no idea how people say wolf is awful. People simply change their minds with every start. I guess Lincecum is awful as well seeing he got hammered for about 4 starts in a row. I guess you should never give up any runs. What are pitchers with 4,5, and 6 era's? And I you are never allowed to get out with guys on base if you are disliked by brewerfan or you are awful as well.
  3. I am frustrated with Greinke but I think the problem is his fastball. The location is really bad when he gets hit around. For most of the game his fastball is on the outside corner and guys dont get good swings at it. But when he overthrows, it ends up over the middle and gets crushed. So I would say this is mostly just location issues and more a mental thing. But maybe thats just me. And I am not making excuses but Gamel has to make that play.
  4. It is amazing that RRR is the reason here. It is like people have not watched the games. Teams lose games when the pitching is not good. Check out the stats the last 8-10 games and see what you find. It doesn't matter who was playing in the field with that ERA. There have been short starts, which leads to more bullpen innings, and ineffective pitching all around. For people who watch most games, I would expect this to be talked about. At least Wolf ate up some innings today and was not a Sally like Greinke was and completely killed the bullpen which hurt in the twins series.
  5. I would give Gamel some time at 3b and that is about it. Saying these in house moves are easy upgrades is not that easy. All the stuff with the manager, Melvin, and Yuni are not worth commenting about. There will be moves made after the break and we will see if we can get a guy that can help the bullpen.
  6. When Loe consistently does this you're right he is going to get a lot of blame. Ax has been outstanding for a long time now. You like to poke don't you? When people just pick and choose things to blame a game on, yes. But there are so many other things that happened but don't support the argument.
  7. Every reliever doing their part today. But funny on how all the blame goes to Loe. Some are so short sighted.
  8. This is the guy everyone wants in all the time. Fastballs right down the middle.
  9. Yes I did. There are so many things going on there. Maybe he got a bad jump, had some indecision, who knows. When you leave third you don't know how close the play is going to be. He read it and he tried it. It worked. If he gets one more step of a jump, he scores easier.
  10. No but sometimes you play aggresive and things work out and sometimes not. This team plays a bit aggresive and force the other team to make plays. They didn't make a mistake. The first baseman just didn't make a good throw. This isn't a video game. It's not a mistake when a fielder doesn't make a perfect throw.
  11. A runner on first and second with a run in, is better. Not sure how some always look at things in such a negative way. Have you never played a game and seen these things happen before? It's like you live in this perfect world and nothing unusual ever happens. Guess they should play station to station ball and never tag up, go first to third, or stretch a hit, seeing there is a chance you could get thrown out. LOL.
  12. You force the defense to make a perfect play to get you. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. I am not sure how you look at plays like that as stupid. Worst case is you have two on with 1 out, just as you did before.
  13. Not true at all and thankfully this will not happen. I think Counsell and Wilson would be worse than Yuni and it would not even be that close. And Green could probably do the same as Casey but we really don't know what would happen. But as I said before, these moves would do little either way. I am sure where this upgrades anything. Sometimes I think a new name just sounds better to people.
  14. No you just ignore those comments because they are so ridiculous and these are emotional people who post these things constantly. Just laugh and move on.
  15. Not saying it doesn't matter. Saying you are not going to make a big difference either way by replacing a guy like Kotsay or Wilson. Your just replacing an average player with another one.
  16. I agree honks. Don't care and this is all a waste of time. These players don't play enough to worry about or discuss this.
  17. I actually agree completely, but have finally come around to realize that IGTs are just rant/vent threads. It can be entertaining.Which is funny, because ranting is explicitly against IGT and Brewerfan rules. If people want a place to post things like "you suck you fat slob," then the staff suggests they find another place to post. There's absolutely nothing wrong with being disappointed in the team's play, expecting big things, etc. but the IGTs have become unreadable for many. It's not fun for many people to watch the team play right now, but it's even less fun for those who come here looking for good discussion about the games and find nothing but kneejerk reactions. I found this hilarious because I get yelled at for being more on the positive side of things and actually realizing the team will go through some tough spots, such as now. But seeing 30 Yuni sucks posts is just what I need everyday so I stop by. His erros cost us games and when anyone else does it, not so much. That is life here on BF.net.
  18. You mean just complain about anything and everything, over and over amd over. That has to be great as well. Can you give me one example of a move RR made that won them a game? I'm going to guess you can not, and if you can it may be one time. I could give countless examples of how his moves has contributed greatly in a lose, but I don't want to complain. Well that is all a matter of opinion as well I guess. There can be things like the bunt that was mentioned but there are also pitching moves and pinch hitters that have come through. But each person looks at these things a bit differently so it can be debated. But just because you say something on a message board doesn't make it the "right move" and the manager "costs" us the game. That is the entertaining thing. People actually believe they know that the manager cost the team the games and that their moves would have won a game. A pitcher or a batter is never to blame. We can be two hits in a game and if a pitcher gives up a run, someone will say that RRR put in the wrong pitcher and costs us the game. Because BF.net guy says he would have done this, it would have worked, and we would have won the game. So this year RRR has cost us (insert number here) games. This is entertaining because fans of every team say these things about every manger, year in and year out. All these managers have to do is look on the internet and they would know what to do.
  19. You mean just complain about anything and everything, over and over amd over. That has to be great as well.
  20. And that is your opinion. Some people just live to complain about managers. I don't get it. You can't blame them for losses and give no credit for winning. Makes no sense at all. Doing things one way may not work in some cases but may work better in others.
  21. I am going to jump in and say the crew wins today. They scratch some runs together, Wolf pitches well against a lineup without Granderson and ARod. Nice of them to sit a couple guys. Just the way baseball works I guess. When you think the team is sunk and struggling, they win a game you don't expect them to. I am sure everyone expected (or hoped) they could get one between Greinke and Marcum. But the bats have been a bit silent as well.
  22. "Because it doesn't fit with my preconceived notions" is not an acceptable argument. Unless you can prove that your preconceived notions are always 100% correct. There may be valid criticisms of WAR out there, but this is not one. No, preconcreived notion are what BF.net is all about. Watching the games, you can not come to a conclusion that Greinke and Narveson have been better than Wolf this year. You can use all the crap you want and there is no way you come to that result. Unless you combine 2-3 of these "fictional stats" that when you use the right combination of them, can make almost anyone look good.
  23. This is exactly why WAR and other made up stats only count in for much in stat guys head. Wolf being at .8 is laughable. Especially considering Greinke and Narveson are double that. Which is why they basically tell you very little about what actually is happens in the games.
