On another note, I don't think Doug Davis works as well with Gary Bennett then he does with Chad Moeller. I like it as it is: Bennett catches Obie or Hendrickson and Santos Moeller the rest. Tim

Even though I don't like Bennett, I'll agree. I was surprised he doubled in the 9th last night and surprised he just homered. Tim

That's true but I look for Moeller to turn it up, his homer (and even along with Bennett's) is always a nice surprise. Hopefully we see more offensive production from both. Tim

That'll give Yost an excuse to start Bennett for the rest of the season. Tim
  5. stkmtimo
Sad, but true. Let's get some runs! Tim

brettac1 - No, but he's a better all around player than Bennett. Helms sucks. Tim

Simply put, this lineup is full of scrubs who are lucky to be starting games. Bennett, Magruder and Durrington are nothing better than career backups/utility players who are better served being out of baseball or in the minor leagues. It perplexes me how Ned puts guys like this out on the Diamond each day...they're going to lose today with this lineup. I can feel it. Tim

Don't like this lineup one bit. Tim
  9. stkmtimo
Well, there goes the game. Wes Helms looking at the 3rd strike. Brewers lose 8-6, Gary Bennett stranded on 2nd. Tim

Gary Bennett doubled! I can't believe it! Wes Helms pinch hitting. Tim
  11. stkmtimo
No way that was strike three on Clark...it was a walk! Yost got tossed and I believe Clark did, too. Tim
  12. stkmtimo
Anyone wanna beat whether or not Yost will pinch hit for Gary Bennett? Tim

Bill - no problem. Podsednik really couldn't make a play in either situation. The triple was a tough play that wasn't really close to him and the double actually rolled along the top of the fence and fell behind it, so Podsednik could just watch it go over. Tim

Batman - Here's what happened. Mike Lieberthal hit a ground rule double that bounced over Podsednik and rolled over the fence. Marlon Byrd singled him in, and then Placido Polanco hit for Geoff Geary, singled to center. At this point Phelps comes out and in comes Luis Vizcaino. Jimmy Rollins flies out, but Jenkins runs in front of Podsednik and makes a wild throw to Bennett, luckily a run didn't score. At this point, 6-3 Brewers lead. Jason Michaels then comes up and doubles to left field (just to the right of the line), Byrd scored and Polanco goes to third. Abreu flew out and then they intentionally walk Thome to load the bases with two outs. Chase Utley hits a triple past Podsednik and three runs score (7-6 now and Phillies lead). Then David Bell singles Utley in, Phillies lead 8-6. Finally, Vizzy gets Lieberthal (first man up and last man down) to foul out! Tim

David Bell RBI single, Phillies lead 8-6. Tim

Chase Utley triples in all three baserunners, Phillies take the lead 7-6! You suck, Vizzy. Tim

Geoff Jenkins is an idiot! He runs off Podsednik on the flyout and then makes a WILD throw to Bennett at homeplate. Granted, a run didn't score but Jenkins hould have let Scott take it. Tim
  18. stkmtimo
    Well, that sucks. Tim

Encouraging to see Ben Grieve absolutely kill two of the pitches just thrown to him by Amaury Telemaco. Too bad they were foul. Tim
  20. stkmtimo
He hit a rocket past Thome which drove in a run. Struck out twice before that. Tim
  21. stkmtimo
6-1 Crew is up. Travis Phelps is pitching. Tim
  22. stkmtimo
    Another run...nice going Russ! Tim
  23. stkmtimo
Batman - Travis Phelps is warming up. It's sooo nice to see runs being scored. Tim
  24. stkmtimo
Nice to see Ben Grieve take a nice swing and get a single out of it. Isn't that his first hit after the injury that's been bothering him? Tim

Overbay has dropped (but still made the play) every ball hit to him on the ground tonight. Tim
