  1. Well they don't need him for I think 2 weeks. He could get another 2-3 starts to see if he gets back in the groove or you could always try Jungmann
  2. Willy had TJ , you have to take some risk.
  3. Why? A chance to get #1 overall pick who is only 19. He wouldn't have pitched up after he signed anyways.
  4. Phoenix - Left-hander Jed Bradley, a first-round draft pick by the Brewers in 2011 who has not progressed as hoped, is being converted from a starting pitcher to reliever this spring. “That’s the role they see me having the most success in,” said Bradley. I trust them. This spring has been and will be a little bit of an adjustment period. But I’ve always been a guy that will do whatever it takes.”
  5. Normally guys who are good base stealers are the fastest guys on the team . So not only could they steal 2nd they could go 1st to 3rd on a single. It gives the pitcher more to think about and hopefully make a bad pitch.
  6. I don't see Sardinas being with the team unless there is an injury. He'll start at AAA and get reps at 2nd and SS until someone gets hurt.
  7. Don't expect to see Lara for at least another 5 years, maybe 7
  8. I wonder where Aiken will got this year. He won't fall to us but it will be interesting to see who takes him.
  9. Dtrain is this years Hank the dog, nice story but won't be with the team past opening day.
  10. The other thing no ones brought up is , is this kid really 19? For all we know he could be 21 or 22. Still a good prospect but instead of hitting the show at 21 or 22 he hits it at 24 or 25.
  11. Well for the last month or so everything we've been reading said it would take 30-40 mil to sign him and you only bid half and think you've got a shot
  12. I'd really like to see thornburg starting. We are going to have another spot open next season and I really don't want to go out and sign another Loshe/Garza FA pitcher if we've got a guy here who could do the job.
  13. So we only bid 12-15 mil on him. I think Doug is trolling us
  14. My guess from what the Brewers are saying is Thornburg will be stretched out as a start and I'm guessing goes to AAA after camp breaks.
  15. or even a slot where there scheduled to pick . Say Red soxs pick 20th and the Dbacks pick 4th. He could sign for a higher slot with the dbacks . That would gives teams who have had a worse record a better shot at getting top draft picks
  16. I have a feeling he's part of the overhyped Boston prospects. .268/.341/.371 isn't that great of a AAA slash line. If they thought he was any good they wouldn't have spent all that money on Big panda and Moncada.
  17. I have a feeling he'll take more than the 2 years they are projecting him to take, if he makes it at all. $30 mil is a ton of money at that age and he may regress/not work as hard.
  18. I still don't understand why mlb just doesn't put all the internationals under 24 in the draft. If they're over 24 they would be FA. Problem solved.
  19. I thought Denson had a ton of raw power when he was drafted. 4 HR in 244 AB isn't going to cut it at 1b/3B
  20. Another Cuban kid who could help us out and should be cheaper than Yoan Moncada. Since we don't have much upside at 1B in the minors. He's 6'3 183lbs. The 19-year-old Alonso should draw interest from MLB teams, according to Badler. Alonso was hitting .299/.436/.494 in 110 plate appearances with more walks (20) than strikeouts (19) at the time he defected.
  21. Righty David Herndon has signed a minor league deal with the Brewers, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com tweets. The 29-year-old, who is trying to reach the bigs for the first time since 2012, has been significantly limited by injuries over the last several seasons. Over 117 total MLB frames from 2010-12, Herndon owns a 3.85 ERA with 5.8 K/9 against 3.2 BB/9
  22. I think Dustin Demuth is better. Struggled stepping up at A last year but I think he can hit.
  23. He was also asked to switch position mid season. I think if we would have asked him in the off season he would have at least tried. There's a huge difference switching in the off season/spring training instead of in June
