  1. you mean like what happen in Houston?
  2. Only a hand full of confirmed sells so prices are sky high. in 7 days or so I'm sure 4-5 more teams throw the towels in and that's when the dealing begins
  3. Was listening to inside pitch today on XM. Jim Bowden (ex GM) is the host and was talking about how deals go down when he was a GM and now. He mentioned that 2 gm's were dinosaurs and don't respond to texts and want to do every deal on the phone, while all the younger guys want to email and text. The 2 dinosaurs Doug Melvin and Walt Jocketty
  4. Despite moving to release Triple-A backstop Erik Kratz, the Mariners are not “close” to a deal to add a new catcher, multiple sources tell Ryan Divish of the Seattle Times (Twitter link). He does add that Seattle has been looking for a new reserve behind the dish, though it has found the prices unreasonable. Guess its not Lucroy
  5. The Mets and Brewers have recently had trade talks in which both third baseman Aramis Ramirez and shortstop Jean Segura were discussed, Jon Morosi of FOX Sports reports on Twitter. If we are getting rid of Jean then we need Urena + a pitcher back
  6. You hope you get multiple teams in for him. Team A is giving us A,B and C your X,Y,Z isnt as good. If you want him you need to give us batter players
  7. I've seen enough of Schafer. Bring up Reed and see what he can do.
  8. No ones paying 2/30 for a pitcher with a 5.55era
  9. I don't think he has any value at this point. Maybe he comes back in Sept , pitches well and can get moved in the off season
  10. Pirates just lost their 3B for 6-8 weeks.
  11. Doubt it. I don't think we need a 5th starter for a few weeks and Willy will be back by then I think
  12. For a guy who is 25 and has yet to live up to his 2/3 billing and is out for the next year with TJ? They need OF help asap. Parra gives them that cheaply. Wright is on and off the DL Aram gives them a vet bat who can play 3rd.
  13. And you were watching women. Kinda like watching a WNBA game instead of an NBA game
  14. What about going after Wheeler? Yes he just had TJ but the guy has #2/3 stuff. Para and Aram for Wheeler?
  15. I wonder how much CS is effecting Thornburg's results.
  16. But would the Brewers trust Reed?
  17. What if we signed him 3-4 years and traded Gomez. I'm not sold on Tyrone Taylor offense. I'm not sure he's more than a 4th OF. Parra would be a nice stopgap till the next wave gets here and he's not that huge of a drop off from Gomez. 3/30?
  18. There aren't going to be any decent offers for loshe, Garza, Broxton or Ramirez. At best all we can do is salary dump them.
  19. Rosenthal provides an overview of the situation, writing that “he and his staff viewed Scioscia and the coaches as practically insubordinate” in declining to utilize statistical information.
  20. If Segura could hit with a little more power , I'd love to move him to 3rd and at 2nd go to scooter/rivera / sardinas
  21. All you can do right now is bring up Dominguez to play 3rd. Problem is he is a black hole offensively
  22. I don't have faith that Mark will let Doug do that. Now that Braun isn't the face of the Brewers, they need a fan favorite. I can see them offering 3yrs at close to 20 mil a season and an option year or something like that.
  23. Jonathan Lucroy is never going to move to 1st by choice. He would have to be pushed there by just sucking on defense or injuries dominating him. No way the Brewers extend him just to move him to first. His bat would be of no use there. Last 3 years he ops'd .881, .795 and .838. If he's roughly a .840 1B then he'd be top 10 in all of baseball and basically the same as Lind.
  24. Something tells me that once Linds deal is up the brewers extend Luc and move him to 1st. What we do at C at that point I have no idea.
