  1. Is it time to send Davis down to work on his swing? Kinda like the Cards did with Wong. Send him down for a couple of weeks and let him work the kinks out
  2. He only needs to stay a couple more weeks. Hes been on the roster about 50 days. He would need 10 more days and then they could hide him on the DL and bring him back in Sept when rosters expand. It's incredibly short sighted to send him back to Pit at this point.
  3. The PA had no amp. Plus people in the back were talking and the sound seemed to amplify. I thought it was cool and would totally go again.
  4. My friend got an invite to get tickets early, guess there's a quite a demand for tickets
  5. You could say that about all pitchers. They draft 20 pitchers a year and you hope 3 or 4 can make the team
  6. Would he though? If he doesn't sign he still won't be able to pitch before next years draft and his stock will be lower. So it will really be 2 years before he'd potentially be a top 5 pick again
  7. You'd almost have to pick him if he's still there at 12? potential #1 pitcher @12
  8. Source: Ryan Braun placed on DL
  9. Cincinnati – On the heels of a tough eighth inning last night that saw him surrender the game-winning home run to pinch-hitter Brayan Pena, reliever Jim Henderson has been placed on the 15-day disabled list by the Milwaukee Brewers with right-shoulder inflammation. Outfielder Caleb Gindl has been recalled from Class AAA Nashville to take Henderson's place on the roster. Henderson's appearance last night against the Reds was his fourth in 11 days. He pitched an inning in each of the Brewers' extra-inning victories in St. Louis earlier in the week before a nightmarish eighth inning last night in which he gave up four hits and a walk and was ultimately charged with five earned runs as the Reds turned a 3-3 tie into an 8-3 victory. Henderson had allowed a total of four earned runs in his previous 13 outings. The move of Henderson out of the closer's spot in favor of Francisco Rodriguez just prior to opening day came on the heels of a spring training in which Henderson displayed decreased velocity. Although Henderson's velocity had improved since then, it's possible he's been dealing with a shoulder issue for quite some time. So, after one game with a 13-man pitching staff, the Brewers are back down to 12. Gindl, meanwhile, was hitting .284 with two home runs and six runs batted in over 25 games for Nashville. He gives the Brewers a little more flexibility with their roster tonight with Logan Schafer eligible to come off the disabled list tomorrow. 10. DL him in July, give him 2-3 weeks off, Send him to AA for 30 days(aug) , bring him back up Sept 1 to basically sit/pitch blow outs
  11. We really only have to carry him for 60 more days and then they can make up an injury and DL him the rest of the season. We are already a 3rd of the way there , no sense in giving him back now
  12. I would consider moving Garza to the DL. You could bring up Wooton/figaro to cover till Monday. Then bring up Nelson/Fiers for 1 start and send him back down and bring back the other reliever. It would give you an extra BP arm for the next week to 10 days
  13. They need to 15 day DL someone. Sucks that they are all 3-5 game injuries but you can't keep playing short handed
  14. If Seattle is out of it and we pick up 80% of Hart, I doubt they ask for much. If they foot the bill maybe someone like Fiers
  15. Looks like Seattle is still crap . Wonder if they'd trade us Hart?
  16. [sarcasm]First baseman Travis Ishikawa has cleared waivers and been outrighted to Triple-A Indianapolis by the Pirates, reports MLB Daily Dish’s Chris Cotillo (Twitter link). Because Ishikawa has been previously outrighted, he has the option of rejecting the assignment in favor of free agency, which he is likely to do. Ishikawa, 30, hit .206/.263/.382 with a homer, a triple and a double in 38 plate appearances for the Bucs this season. He was initially part of a platoon with lefty masher Gaby Sanchez until the Pirates, in search of an upgrade, swung a deal for Ike Davis (Pittsburgh sent Zack Thornton and a PTBNL to the Mets). Ishikawa is a lifetime .257/.321/.397 hitter, and his splits are indicative that he is best suited to be part of a first-base platoon (as he was in Pittsburgh). Both Defensive Runs Saved and Ultimate Zone Rating feel that Ishikawa’s glove at first base is above average — an attribute that he and agent Jim McDowell can use as a selling point should he ultimately elect to become a free agent.[/sarcasm]
  17. Does he have any background to play 3B? Thought he was a CF in college. That would be quite a jump. Does he project to a corner infield bat? If not, wouldn't you get more value trading him to someone that needs a OF in two years. Moot point I guess as he isn't currently playing any 3B in Huntsville, is he? He's not. But if he could play CF you'd think he could play a passable 3rd with a season or so in the minors
  18. or you could move Haniger to 1b/3b and not lose a pitcher. He hit well in ST give him a year or 2 to hit AA/AAA
  19. Location: Missouri Take a wild guess
  20. Seems like a lot if you ask me . 250 hitter and only a 300 on base %
  21. I think Overbay will be cut loose before Rickie. I just don't see us keeping 2 first basemen for much longer
  22. No way he takes a 4/50 deal with the way pitching has been getting paid. He'd probably get closer to 20 a year in the open market. We may have to go 4/75 to get him extended .
  23. Maybe they didn't miss on the talent, maybe it's how they're brought along in the minors.
