Our self professed Cubs fan here at work called a 12pm meeting and when I questioned him on it , didn't know the cubs were playing today. -

Schoop has shown me nothing, I'd be fine with DFA him. It was worth a trying , but it's not working.

He was claimed by an unknown team, could it be the Brewers? NL teams get first shot at him. Schoop has been a disappointment, Shaw and Moose split time at 2nd/3rd and Murphy/Shaw split time at 2nd. I know his defense isn't all that great but we need another professional bat in the lineup.

According to MTR the Giants need to dump some payroll and Dyson came up as a candidate. He's owned 1.4m for the rest of the season. He'd be another good bullpen arm with closing experience. If we picked up the whole contract I doubt we have to give up much.

if you're going to go that route, might as well make it contingent on how far we get. If we win the WS they can get 1 from each group. if we don't they we get to pick from the group. -
Just look at how the Twins season has gone. That could have been us. 2 Young guys regress( Buxton/Sano)/ ( Santana/Arcia), Number 1 pitcher is out for most of the season(E Stantana)/(Nelson) . My hats off to Sterns for building depth and a lights out bullpen.

Brad Miller is not the answer at SS. He hasn't played there in 2 years and he wasnt good when he did play. There's a reason he's been playing 2nd and 1st base.

League average pitching isn't going to get you to the playoffs much less win a series in the playoffs. No one knows how good Nelson will be when he gets back.
