  1. Ian Desmond has been awful at SS for the Nationals. Speculation was they would move Escobar to SS. Turner might not be ready for a postseason run. I suppose it is a stretch, but I think Segura would help the Nationals. Or if the Nationals trade for a different SS it makes the availability of SS's less
  2. Yunel Escobar's injury today just instantaneously improved Segura's trade value
  3. Prefer to not take on that MiLB aspect of a "season"
  4. Put minimum plate appearances to 0, and he's rank 27. There are apparently 10 guys who have not met the minimum number of plate appearances (like Jed Lowrie) who have provided more value (per WAR) than Segura. Ahhh, OK, thank you I appreciate you pointing that out. Apparently he has less value than I thought!
  5. Jean Segura: 17th Ranked SS on Fangraphs this season http://www.fangraphs.com/leaders.aspx?pos=ss&stats=bat&lg=all&qual=y&type=8&season=2015&month=0&season1=2015&ind=0&team=0&rost=0&age=0&filter=&players=0
  6. Segura is a Top 15-Top 18 SS in MLB. Just about half the teams in MLB have a worse SS than Segura playing for them right now. It is a premiere position, and he's shown flashes of being a Top 5 to Top 10 SS. He has plenty of value.
  7. No-one is untouchable but I personally would not trade: Orlando Arcia Taylor Jungmann Wily Peralta Will Smith Jeremy Jeffress
  8. It's a possiblity. Lost in the shuffle of everyone drooling over fantasy baseball trades the Brewers are 11-4 on the month counting tonight's result and were 14-14 in June. They're hot, and seems like they're getting hotter. Hopefully brewerfan.net doesn't collapse from the influx of angry posts if we don't see a trade of significance by July 31. Orlando Arcia for David Price. I can see it now. Brewerfan.net loses it's mind
  9. Exactly. A star SS or pitching ace or cleanup hitter gets injured and that changes everything
  10. Watch the Brewers go 9-0 in their next 9 games and become buyers (wish that was in Blue)
  11. Upton with an Oblique concern could change the market slightly in regards to Gomez/Parra. Cespedes being the other big RH outfield bat out there besides Gomez/Upton
  12. A trade (or two, even) with the Mets makes sense. They have a surplus of pitching and need an outfielder
  13. Jungmann looks like a legit talent. Braun looks like he is mailing it in. Surprised the Pirates haven't throw at Gomez yet
  14. Syndergaard is awesome. The problem is that the Brewers aren't going to the World Series in the next 2-3 years, so then you are only getting 3 years of Syndegaard on a playoff contending team. This team needs a full & complete rebuild, top to bottom including the front office. No way do I trade Arcia for a pitcher.
  15. So who do they spend all that money on? David Price? Three different 2016 versions of Garza/Lohse? That's not gonna get us into the World Series Now if they spent the money on International Talent and struck gold on some of the vets for prospects trades that they should be making, now we've got something to build on
  16. If they trade Arcia for anything less than an insanely amazing return, I will be done as a Brewer fan until Melvin and the rest of the front office are gone and Mark A sells the team
  17. Being a Vanderbilt fan and college Baseball fan in general, I've always liked Tony Kemp. Wouldn't surprise me at all if he ended up being better than Scooter (and I'm a big Scooter fan). Seems to be able to hit both LHP & RHP, gets on-base, good glove. I'd like him even more if was a huge SB threat, but still he can steal 25-30 bases a season. Will never hit for power but the glove & OBP ability are there.
  18. As we found out when the Brewers were buyers: fans often have overinflated perspectives on their team's minor league prospects. Appel's value has really dropped but may be worth rolling the dice on. For Carlos Gomez I'd want Colin Moran at the very least, and even Moran isn't a sure thing. edit: meant to say "Buyers" not sellers.
  19. I predicted that Yuni B would be historically bad. Does that count?
  20. Lucroy is a very good player (.350 OBP in the last 28 days even) but this is the time to cut the cord on a player who is likely beginning a long slow decline. He clearly wants out, too, judging by his recent comments. He has plenty of value so he should bring back a nice haul
  21. I do think Lucroy will be traded to Seattle in the next few days if not today, yes.... edited for spelling
  22. Looking for another team to root for if the Brewers aren't major sellers at the trade deadline
  23. Meant to say that I'm happy to see the Brewers heading into a direction that much involves analytics and sabermetrics. If Doug Melvin has been using a lot of analytics, he sure fooled me. The free-swingin' Brewers of the Melvin era are pretty much the antithesis of the Sabermetric Money Ball trend
  24. Meant to add that it isn't really accurate to say that his entire MiLB career has been underwhelming. His AA year in 2014 was pretty strong
