  1. 'Seemed' is the key word. There's nothing that definitively says that Ned's decisions are solely responsible for winning those one-run games. I could say that Branyan's presence on the team is the difference maker, and it would no less plausible than pointing to random moves by Yost.
  2. That's anecdotal, rather than factual, evidence.
  3. Preferably not, as there's no factual basis for that and it would only serve to instigate trouble.
  4. I absolutely love my job, but loathe the 'customers;' kids and adults alike, they're pretty much all horrendously obnoxious.
  5. There were two threads that were sufficiently hijacked to get locked, and another one in which his comments were hidden. Every effort to reason with and placate him (both by mods and general members) was met with a tantrum and accusations. I invited him to discuss it things with me via PM, but instead he felt it was necessary to rant wherever he pleased. That's not something that we're just going to tolerate.
  6. To clear things up, this is the Weeks/DeRosa thread that I'm assuming he's referring to: NL Central Thread The guy (RickieWeeksJr) was not banned for simply disagreeing, he was banned for hijacking threads with his Weeks/DeRosa argument and hijacking threads with his complaints about the moderators' response to his hijacking; e.g. this thread.
  7. Anyone else struck by the irony of the creepy internet troll complaining about people not posting actual pictures of themselves, when the reason for doing that is because of the creepy people trolling the internet?
  8. Way to live up to your name, ArrogantNemesis. No regular season baseball game is worth upwards of $500. Not that things are much better in the postseason, where there were 300-level seats in Wrigley Field going for thousands of dollars or StubHub last year. I dunno if it's supposed to be a status symbol or what, but it's ridiculous that anyone would even consider paying those prices.
  9. Why is Hall coming into the game? He's neither an upgrade defensively nor offensively.
  10. Bill Hall has officially jumped the shark.
  11. I like how they have 7 runs on 11 hits, and we have 5 runs on 3 hits.
  12. I dunno. I was in China for two weeks in May and more than a week after I got back I was still waking up at 2 AM each morning. The jet lag coming back is pretty horrendous.
  13. I'm not going to say that we told you so, Doug, but...
  14. I'm never going to revel in someone else's injury, no matter how minor and no matter how beneficial it is to me. Even more so when it involves someone's job and livelihood; yes, I realize that Zambrano is probably financially secure at this point in his career, but that's not the point.
  15. 10.1 IP, 11 K, 0 BB. DiFelice is awesome.
  16. Are you actually trying to earn that strike now? Considering that none of the staff earn a single cent for their efforts on this site, your criticism seems a little pompous and ungrateful.
  17. I couldn't really care less if people think they're not manly or whatever. They look equally bad on everyone; man, woman, or child. And it's not like there's some law of the universe that says things can't be aesthetically pleasing and be comfortable. I have a hard time believing that they couldn't make an equally comfortable shoe that doesn't look like a plastic clog that someone took a hole punch to. Somebody made them look like that on purpose. So, I'm not buying the excuse that they're comfortable, easy to put on, or whatever; that doesn't make up for the fact that they're still ugly as sin.
  18. The colors are far too saturated for my preferences (makes the clouds look funny too), but I like the (a)symmetry of it.
  19. No. Expand your question to include women as well and my answer still remains the same.
