  1. I'm wishing to see Brinson every day we watch Broxton struggle waiting for him to find another one of his hot streaks.
  2. Oof. Send 'Em Sedar must have mistook Pina for Arcia.
  3. Torres is your inherited runner specialist and has been pitching fairly well lately. Scahill should not be on a major league roster. Brewer killer David Freese at bat. CC decides to use up a week's worth of luck to get that out.
  4. Knebel looking sharp out of the break. Only hits on good pitches by the twin Brewer killers. Glad he didn't pitch in the ASG. Now pound it tomorrow and make sure there's no thought of getting him up!
  5. I can see the hook. Drake is basically a right-handed LOOGY with his splits, so the match-ups for the next two batters were pretty favorable.
  6. For being off the wall, he came up with it quite cleanly in center. We know Send 'Em Sedar tries it, but if the relay is there they'd have a shot at him. Steal left no doubt.
  7. When you yell he got all of it and it ends up 100+ feet short of the wall, that has to be pretty embarrassing He must be a closet Cubs fan, getting all excited over pop ups
  8. Santana made a good defensive play? Santana made a good defensive play!
  9. It's getting harder to watch an outing like Davies had and not want to give his spot (or Guerra's) to Hader. Have to tell yourself that the pen needs all the help it can get, though fewer innings on the arm the past couple months could make a move easier since you won't be concerned about an innings limit in September.
  10. Davis just painful to watch. Rested pen, give him the boot. Might have put himself lower than Guerra on the totem pole to be the first to lose his spot to an acquisition/Woodruff/Hader/Blazek/Jungmann
  11. Long-term controlled bullpen depth with options for a player who was super blocked. Got to like that type of deal.
  12. Run Martinez out for two innings and a game high number of pitches, Davis takes the L, Knebel gets rest, and the game is back to being an exhibition like it should be? Works for me!
  13. Milwaukee Brewers‏Verified account @Brewers 8m8 minutes ago RHP Junior Guerra (right shin contusion) has been placed on the 10-day disabled list, retroactive to July 8. Corresponding move TBD. Citing the shin from last time out, nothing related to arm/velocity loss. Also has him lined up to come off and make the 5th start after the break on the 18th, so may not yet tip us off on anything related to the rotation longer-term.
  14. I'll take the generous strike calls there. 5.5 up of the Cubs and Cardinals (ewwww). Rest up!
  15. Oliver Drake: the R-LOOGY. Righties still have an OPS >1.000 against him.
  16. Some unpleasant at-bats after the first inning yesterday. Pile it on today.
  17. And Cooper is blocked despite an OPS over 1.000 and 77 RBIs. Guess we're all set for the DH to come to the NL
  18. Of all pitchers you want to make 4 extra outs and overcome 2 extra bases, Guerra's at the very bottom. Rain, rain, until we learn to play defense!
  19. Nelson Anderson Garza Davies Suter Think we stand pat. Will give Suter the edge as the current spot holder and to try to stick a lefty in, though Jungmann and Blazek might have a shot. One or two adds via trade will be bullpen arms. Woodruff's missed time will set him back a bit. Guerra winds up on the DL or in AAA.
  20. Didn't seem like it. Harrison was announced and went to the plate before being called back. Seemed perplexing; probably not a move Ayrault makes if he didn't get tossed. On that note, it was a super close play but also believed Ray was out on the potential winning run in the 9th that resulted in the ejection. Nutty game - Winstom Salem just gifted it over with the missed pop ups in the 9th and misplaying the routine grounder that should have ended the 10th.
