  1. Gonna need an explanation for why Gustave is still on COVID rehab assignment after three scoreless outings when Topa is on the roster.
  2. Looked like a tortoise there. Out to the wall, but good throw and tag vs. slow and bad slide.
  3. A 1 out of 10 in the 'Must Win' meter. See if Lauer and the offense have us in a position to win and think about using maybe Suter and Williams to close it out. If not, milk Bettinger/Milner/Topa.
  4. Though I'm also not sold on Topa, I'm good with the call of him over Norris or Milner against a lineup of Belt and all of RHBs.
  5. Gustave pitched a third rehab appearance tonight. Would think he's back Friday. But I think Milner will still go down over Topa.
  6. I had Gustave in my predictions. Suppose they can option Milner, clear a 40-man spot, and get him back up to Milwaukee for the weekend.
  7. The two for Wednesday: Vogelbach, whose rehab assignment re-start I'm convinced was a mutual agreement that the team would not place him on waivers if he extended rehab and would give the roster spot on Sept 1, and Gustave, who is on rehab assignment from the COVID IL and has already made a couple of scoreless AAA appearances.
  8. Just hard to fathom this was a .938 OPS rookie in a not small sample size two years ago. Perhaps another client for Burnes' sports psychologist. Hard to compare pitchers and hitters, but Burnes also pitched himself out of the rotation, bullpen, and AAA and into the lab two years ago.
  9. This is indeed funny...
  10. 0-for his last 20 with 12 Ks. Hard to believe he was in the midst of a .938 OPS rookie season two years ago.
  11. Sounds like maybe for a pinch hit, though unlikely. Thinking he could DH tomorrow.
  12. That's a Badger Mutual Insurance Run. Yelich missed the bag on his reach. Noticed Q was all over it rushing him back to the base.
  13. They can do start right-hander, expect 4-5 innings: Woodruff, Burnes, Peralta, Houser Follow up with a left-hander for 2 innings: Suter, Lauer, Ashby, Anderson Relievers cover 2-3 innings: Strickland, Cousins, Boxberger, Williams, Hader Would consider flipping Houser for Anderson or Lauer, given they are more used to starting and Houser has always been good in relief. Hopefully capping the starters at 4-5 innings also helps if they change schedules and no longer going on the extended rest.
  14. All year, Jomboy was excited about his chance to run in the sausage race...
  15. When you put Milner and walk in the same sentence, betcha didn't expect it to be this way.
  16. Ashby's ERA declined from 51.00 to 4.15. Actually lower than Miguel Sanchez's now.
  17. Wonder if Counsell considered Ashby to start and Houser out of the pen. Ashby's troubles this year started when they moved him to the pen in AAA, and righted themselves as soon as they put him back into a starting role. Meanwhile, Houser has never really had trouble coming out of the pen.
