  1. Good lord Kimbrel sucks. Good call on the no-sign
  2. Who do we really hate more? Cubs or Cards? It's an obvious "cardinals" answer for me because of all the POS players and managers (La Russa). Along with the constant "baseball the right way" and obvious steroid double standard. Add to the fact that it seems like we own the cubs now and I'm hoping the cards crash and burn.
  3. I would have to think resigning Pomeranz with the new rules next year is a must and non-tendering Claudio as the other side. I'll join the "i was wrong" crowd about Pomeranz. To me, Lyles discovered something last year and just had a horrific month before we got him back this year.
  4. Regardless, they must finally realize that they need to add pitching. Cole isn't feasible- but many of the second tier guys are. I get that we all have non-dry dreams about pitchers like Cole, but it simply won't happen for this market. Unless some one explains to Mark A about all those 100's of millions in profit he's hoarding...
  5. Last season a Cubs fan troll joined and posted in several IGTs pretending to be a middle aged Brewer fan from Kenosha. His posts got more and more weird, and he continued to bring up his hardened Little League mentor, Coach Cooper, who stressed baseball fundamentals or else. I think Coach Cooper was obviously inspired by Morris Buttermaker. Pretty good summary. Poster related everything in MLB to what he did in little league, most of which things Coach Cooper stressed. Coach Cooper.... aka Bill Brasky... Stood roughly 8'9'', 575 lbs and would eat a homeless man if you dared him
  6. Well we talked all year about every team having a hot streak. I'm glad Stearns planned ours for now. He lives another day to be fired!
  7. Not me. I love Arcia. The kid just pop out, strikes out and grounds out with the best of em'! All with a pointless cocky smile on his face!
  8. And suddenly, with the two series between the cubs and cards and playing teams that have given up- we control our own destiny. Wow
  9. It's-a-me, Phil Cuzzi! All the umpires are jokes and aren't even on Mario's level... they're more like the annoying youtube guy blippi
  10. He's been terrible. 7 for 47 with a huge donger to help save the season much like his blast a few nights back in Miami. Had a big double against the Cubs in that series as well. He’s old. He’s streaky. He’s hurting. But he’s as clutch as they come and we are going to need more of it because this team lacks it. I don't believe I've ever heard a home run called a "huge donger" but I'll thoroughly support this term. Expanding on this, "donkey donger" would be appropriate too
  11. He's a different player this year... taking big hacks at the plate, questionable steals- trying to hard to make things happen?
  12. Already had a pinch hit single. People keep bugging me for stuff and distracting me.... like I'm supposed to help people while working? How annoying
  13. Lovely that a crappy elf hits two off us in one game. How do they always produce annoying scrubs that only perform against us?
  14. I've been told his sample size qualifies him as a solid option- I get that there aren't a lot of great options, but that doesn't qualify him a good/ great (obviously)
  15. Ugh. Molina is so annoying against us. I still wish some one would hit him in the face for all the tantrums and umpire spitting he's done.
  16. I will be happy when Arcia is off the team. When a player struggles as badly as Arcia, I'd like a little less playful enthusiasm and a little more grouchy self criticism. But Arcia plays with the looseness of a productive star, even though he's an easy out. Agreed. At this point going into arbitration who knows if he’s even tradable. Likely a nontender. At least get a guy that can hit a sac fly.
  17. IMO a lot depends on what we do in the offseason. If we add a couple good starters, as we have needed to for awhile Houser could shore up a bullpen with a lot of question marks. If they add relievers, give him a shot in the rotation. We need young starters to emerge alongside Woodruff eventually to truly contend-so whether it's Houser, Burnes, or Peralta some one has to step up. As the official good/ bad designator for the pen, I would classify him in the "good" category-if that helps clear that issue up.
  18. Courtesy of my doubting them. Glad to be wrong as usual!
  19. When can we see the dominatrix on the mound? We already have a ball that flies 30-40 feet farther, why not a little S&M during the game?
