  1. Remember when we Wanted to get away from The all or nothing offense and strikeouts? so far, just nothing. Trade hader for a 1b or 3b please. Sign somebody for the combined price of All the extras/ scrubs.
  2. This is the day burnes hall of fame career officially begins. Or just have the lineup score in the first couple innings and get a lead with a quality start-it would make the absolutely brutal southwestern summer this year a lot more tolerable!
  3. Is Braun hurt already? Or are we giving him days off already? Maybe he’s locked in a closet somewhere with Brock holt. Oh well, it’s fun complaining about baseball again.
  4. Count me in on the optimistic side of things for a change. Absolutely love the roster turnover. I still think we'll find a 3b and trade for an ace before the deadline, and likely sign a reliever as well!
  5. Appreciate you diving into some of these numbers! I’m with you on the Burnes bandwagon. Some of my friends think I’m nuts (maybe I am) but I still see All Star production coming from him. Agreed on Burnes. I would definitely putting Houser in the bullpen to strengthen it given his past success there and putting Burnes in the rotation for another try. We need good right handed relievers-especially not knowing where Knebel is with recovery. I'm sure Burnes, being the intense type has worked his butt off this offseason and is itching to show he isn't the meltdown we saw last year. Now more than ever we see we can't give up on guys like him...
  6. With the way things are going it looks like Bumgarner will get 5+/100+, Donaldson will get 4+/88+ and Ryu may cross 100 as well. This reminds me of the offseason when the Yankees signed CC and everybody else. It just sucks. We can't afford to spend 20-25/ year for slightly above average or a huge injury risk. I guess we need to be realistic and hope for Nova/ Keuchel and a huge haul for Hader.
  7. I really like the approach so far. It looks like DS is admitting a bunch of guys that might improve and could stay average/ bad doesn't work for him. Free up as much cash as possible and go for some high end talent-because there's plenty of league average talent out there for next to nothing. If he doesn't get a combination of the Rendon, Ryu, Wheeler, or the Donaldsons of the free agents class or patch a bunch of holes dealing Hader then 2020 might be a soft rebuild. Mark A is certainly on board here-so I would heavily bet on us not starting the season with Erceg at 3b and Jose Bautista at 1b. Logic requests those on this board to calm down.
  8. I still think the dodgers make an absolutely ridiculous offer for Hader. They have the young talent and the motivation. They are extremely hungry for a title and liable to do something really stupid here-take that offer and add on two lower-level guys!
  9. That's an excellent comparison. Even Shaw's swing reminds me of Dunn's. Thankfully his defense doesn't. Puke
  10. The way the last couple off seasons have been trending predicted numbers, IMO are way over what they will be. For instance, Pomeranz will likely get something at 5/6 per year for 2-3 years as a guy with a short track record as a reliever. Additionally, if anybody gives Bumgarner 18 per year (MLBTR prediction) they should be shot. Davies is better at this point.
  11. I have to believe this means they're going to be big players for an everyday, preferably right-handed 1b. I'd love to get Abreu from the White Sox. Abreu and Moose at the corners would be excellent.
  12. Do you believe the Brewers will trade him this offseason? I'm sure a team like the dodgers could use things like this to justify dealing young talent for him... being hopeful! I can see it now.... "we dealt smith, verdugo, lux and urias for the league's best reliever"
  13. NO. Take some gambles this offseason on guys like wheeler, ryu, etc. on short-term and high dollar amounts. See if things fall into place and it crashes and burns-then trade Yelich. He is irreplaceable where guys like Hader are not (only pitches when we're winning).
  14. Not sure why so many here were so high on the cardinals. Like us, they basically had one month of not being a league average team. They have a lot of holes just like the Brewers/ Cubs did. The Nationals have a great rotation and lineup and can cover a poor bullpen. A Nationals/ Astros WS would make me very happy.
  15. Love it! Take it back to Washington and give the cardinals two total runs in the sweep. Screw em'!
  16. I may get kicked off of this site as I was removed from many after the cardinals last “title”. Same slightly above average type of cardinals team that teams like the braves, brewers, etc lay down and let them win it... makes me wonder why the hell that hasn’t happened for us.
  17. Yeah if we're really gonna throw out Woodruff and everybody else (internal options) again we need the best bullpen in the league. You simply have to pair some one with Woodruff as above average options at some point. My guess would be Stearns overreacts to this season's failures and signs two SP's to medium/ large contracts. I'd prefer one and a bounce back type
  18. I think Lyles will be coming back and could definitely see a Ryu, Wheeler, Ordorizzi, Miley type of move. At some point you have to pair some one with Woodruff to cover six innings once and awhile. I would prefer to not have 85% of the season covered by average starters AND average/ below average relievers. I think Stearns might be on the same page with that desire.
  19. I think the idea to trade Hader also would involve some trades for relievers and definitely a couple FA signings. I don't see anyone offering us his pricetag, but if some one does good relievers seem to be going for a much lower rate on the FA market these days. At least, logic would say those wanting to trade Hader expect other moves.
  20. Can we at least swear about the butt-licking Cardinals being in the playoffs still? Asking for a friend... maybe Molina will abscond with La Russa and the boat will sink making me smile for weeks.
  21. He managed to screw our season twice in 4 days. Impressive. Take not allowed. Hader is totally fine. Why isn't it allowed. You've posted it many, many times over. He's joking but too angry to use the sarcasm filter
  22. Only the "look on the bright side" crowd is saying Grisham isn't at all to blame..... he obviously was. The point is the game was over regardless at that point. Hader should not be a go-to until he gets his slider back. Or at least some control of his fastball. Last year it would've been six up six down and we'd be playing the Dodgers. Hader has completely lost control of his fastball and slider and either needs to go or needs to fix it.
