  1. how are we not the worst team in baseball? good lord
  2. I wish maldonado was still knocking people out for carlos. And i'd love to see carlos get a shot on somebody too next time a boring/old fashioned/ white team pulls this crap. Mccann, yadier molina, chris carpenter, cole- all of them need a good beating. Hunter pence too. Just because of how he looks though.
  3. Going off the Jimmy Nelson thread if I'm management I make Wily work on his changeup all off season and all spring training. Even Sheets who had great control got knocked around because of only having two pitches. Wily is probably never going to have great control, but with his electric stuff and a solid change he can be the #2 his stuff indicates.
  4. it's hard to see peralta as part of the future at this point. Why can't this guy put it together? 6 er to this god awful team
  5. CC should pull a player/ manager role for the rest of the season he's probably still better than all of our infielders aside from Lind.
  6. This just adds to the future conversation of how bad we were from 2015-2020. "we couldn't even trade our good players"
  7. Oh how I love these black out games. Since you know, phoenix is only 150 miles north of where I live. Makes sense.
  8. I agree with the notion that this makes no sense. He's our best pitcher by far at this point. Sure, if we want to get the #1 overall pick we could do this. Just keep lohse in there and put peralta in the bullpen. I think the rest of this season is extremely important as we need to evaluate if he can harness his talent that he showed last season or if he will be inconsistent. If he can't continue last year's #2 starter stats I would try to include him in the fire sale continuing this offseason while he still is young and has great value. Did we forget he almost touches triple digits, is a big, strong workhorse and produces a ton of ground balls with a great change?
  9. hey there's actually a point to watching this game! Let's continue getting the young guys on the mound. On a semi related note, would anybody support trying to move jeffress back to a starter with the success he has had? With a lot of 3's and 4's outside of peralta/ nelson I would think we would want to try a high end guy like jeffress if he had the right pitching coach. Too bad we don't have a dave duncan to work miracles on our pitchers.
  10. Just so we're all aware lohse has given up one more run per nine innings than suppan did when we released him. How incredibly awful. His second half would have to involve an era under 1.00 to have decent numbers for the year. Good lord just DFA him
  11. I know they can't just come out and say "lohse and garza will be gone by x day and you won't have to watch this garbage anymore" but it sure would be nice. I watched through the bad decades every game but these guys wasting young pitchers spots on the roster keep me from enjoying my team.
  12. I keep thinking of a quote from ground hog's day for the brewers future; "It's gonna be cold, it's gonna be grey, and it's gonna last you the rest of your life"
  13. It's pretty amazing how these control guys just lose it one day. I agree he's just screwing the pooch out there
  14. Lucroy is starting to be more injury prone. I know he's a catcher and that's common but it seems like he's spending more and more time on the DL every year. Oh well, this helps us blow the #1 pick
  15. I turned the game on just now hoping to hear some booing. Apparently every one else has given up on them already too so they don't care. What a great "golden age" that we were promised. A gift from the braves in the form of a wildcard and a spanking in the NLCS by an inferior cardinals team. FIRE SOME ONE
  16. I for one am glad this team is losing early and often. If they keep up the band aid approach much longer we could be in for a decade of 60 and 70 win teams. They need their vets to overperform to get any good pieces and hopefully melvin is fired so some one competent can trade gomez as he is the only chip that will bring back one or two blue chip prospects. Mark A must be way too nice of a guy he needed to clean house after last year's unreal collapse. I am Forever a brewers fan but forever a realist. Wake up management
  17. I agree thoroughly that this franchise needs a large scale make over. Those of us who agree with the stache are in a camp of "good enough isn't good enough anymore". Good enough meaning essentially an outside shot at competing most years and once and awhile having a decent chance at making a deep run. It's fine if you are ok with seasons like this where almost being competitive is enough however this is why the brewers still have the tag of "losers". We need to change what's good enough for us as fans before upper management will. As long as the majority of us are ok with a team around .500 Mark A will be. Look at the team we hate... cardinals fans go nuts if they're only ten games above .500 no matter the injuries or who's on the field. That said there's absolutely no way we can compete with the cardinals/ cubs/ pirates or the reds for that matter with our current "just throw a band aid on it" philosophy. Young, high end talent needs to be acquired one way or another . I wouldn't mind a couple rebuilding years personally.
  18. This is easily the crew's most disappointing season ever for me. They are falling behind pittsburgh and I don't see a way they can recover. Assuming this epic collapse continues I do not see a way ownership can restore any faith in the team for next season outside of somehow acquiring an ace, an acceptable first basemen and fixing braun/ segura/ the bullpen. LOUD NOISES!!!
  19. I feel like this is exactly how I felt when yost got fired. The difference being the NL was a lot better at that point. Very winnable this year so it's probably more frustrating.
  20. "my give up!" -jar jar binks. That's who this team reminds me of right now. A bunch of horribly placed, series ruining dumb characters.
  21. I could always start an on air broadcast. Plenty of swearing and "he sucks" material
  22. that's sad that we always have to do this. This year is only a one year window. Our "main" hitters and pitchers are only going to decline (outside of peralta) and the cards/ pirates/ cubs/ reds are only going to get better.
  23. as an opposing fan i would cheer when braun came to the plate now. That said any brewers hitter should get a cheer
  24. boy would it be nice to sell this offseason instead of putting band aids on things and hoping one of our lifeless players steps it up
