  1. This may be the most exciting finish to a season ever... bud selig is looking very good right now.
  2. PLAYOFFS?!? PLAYOFFS?!? We're talking about the PLAYOFFS?!?
  3. I honestly believe it'll be either the Crew or the phillies for the second slot. It seems like more than just a once and awhile lucky type thing (cardinals, rockies, etc). Just seems to be a common thing we come to expect now.
  4. I remember when people were saying that there's no way the 2012 brewers would have as good of a lineup as the 2011 crew. It was mostly "casual" fans and national media outlets (not posters on this board) but the balanced lineup theory really does work better than just a few sluggers in the middle of the order. Man this team has a ton of heart... if they get into the playoffs, watch out.
  5. do we know when mr hart is coming back? Needless to say this isn't the league's top offense with Ishikawa at 1b. Anyways, go crew!!! Must win!!
  6. I stand by the statement I made to a friend about a week ago... If they sweep tomorrow, they will make the playoffs. Kemp may be injured, McCutchen is ice cold right now, and the cards certainly seem to have their players falling back to earth/ getting injured. If the cardinals have shown us anything in the past five years it's that all you need is a lot of offense and a couple decent pitchers to go on a ridiculous run.
  7. Segura with a great effort on that stolen base attempt... perfect throw, was he scared of being taken out or what?
  8. well it's time for everybody's favorite comedy... the Milwaukee brewers bullpen
  9. Does anybody else have a huge man crush on rogers? Mine has already surpassed the one I had for Gallardo when he first came up. Just filthy pitches..
  10. Can we please have the bullpen pitch the whole game? These crappy young pitchers bore me.
  11. Doug... please do not re sign all these piles of filth ... please
  12. Better keep him in Ron, we might lose by two rather than one otherwise
  13. well i took a two hour nap and it looks like we're back to the beginning here. Thanks for keeping things interesting as usual, bullpen. Why are we thinking of keeping anyone outside of ax for next year?
  14. It would be amazing to get a good start out of marcum and flip him for anything valuable.... I would re sign him but it doesn't seem like doug and Co have the same opinion
  15. No offense, but IMO babying Rogers at this point doesn't serve a purpose. He hasn't had a legit arm injury in what, three years? (I don't count the wrists) You need to give a guy who throws mid-upper 90's and has filthy off speed stuff every chance you can give him. You can grab a reliever out of nowhere to be good for a year or two but Rogers also would probably be a bad reliever given his inconsistency. He has by far the most potential out of all our young guys so giving him 40-50 innings a year to mop up games would be a shame.
  16. Between Aaron Rodgers on the packers and Mark rogers for the crew man those are a couple of great beards... coming from a beardsmith. Well done boys.
  17. Well we'll see if Rogers goes 4... so frustrating having a guy with this filthy of stuff throwing so many pitches.
  18. Is the gun at PNC that slow or is Rogers really only going 90 on his FB?
  19. You make it sound like Shields is a free agent. He's not. Looking at it again, my mistake... Apparently a beat writer got it wrong just like me.
  20. 1. Yo 2. Shields 3. Marcum 4. Fiers 5. Rogers Yes I realize shields may get blown away by a larger market team, but I think he would be a much more realistic target than greinke (because of the Cy young season). I don't see anyone offering marcum anything of quality so I would doubt we need to offer him the 13 million that would be due through arby.
  21. I took a quick peak at Cot's and from my math keeping marcum, gomez, parra, loe, estrada, gamel, and the rest of the current players under contract would put us at roughly 66 million dollars payroll. Assuming we'll be 5-10 million less in payroll, that's still a good chunk of change to play with. Two veteran relievers and a good/very good starter would definitely not be out of the question. I think we can absolutely compete next year.
  22. If you have been paying attention the last few years, you know we'll sweep the pirates simply to help the cardinals... anything to help them! Not sure why that's our team motto ugh
