    Yeah, I'm a lucky one who hears it from both sides. On a related note, instead of hanging up on the last two pollsters that called me wondering who I was voting for, I decided to have some fun. I told them both that I considered my ballot to be "secret", so I wasn't going to share it. Stone cold silence. The one said, "Ummm....okay. Thanks!" I felt a little bad for the person just doing their job, but overall, the satisfaction I felt more than made up for it. p.s. Can I get a second on the John Mellencamp thing?

    Wait just a cotton-pickin' second. You mean to tell me I wasn't PERSONALLY called by Mark Green, Tommy Thompson, John McCain, and Bill Clinton yesterday? And here I thought I was special. I'll add one: Car advertisements featuring John Mellencamp.

    I thought this was a simple, but fairly interesting discussion of the "net stolen base". It doesn't really get into the value of the SB, per se, but I thought it was worth the time to read. Roberts, for what it's worth, was the third most efficient base stealer in the game last year. baseballanalysts.com/arch...n_base.php

    You beat me by a couple of minutes, Colby. I think J R House should be a target for the Brewers again this year. I thought they were in the running last year, but could have been just speculation here. The guy can hit. I don't know a lot about his defense, though. What do we know about Dewon Brazelton? I recall he was a fairly big prospect at one point. Something is rattling around in my brain that he had some issues with coaches/management at some point. I also second the nominations of Bubba Crosby and VDLS. Joel Hanrahan, one of the board's favorites in the potential Sexson trade, is out there, too.

    Mass, if you REALLY need to finish the Levrault collection, I found a '96 Helena set online. It's a little steep ($45 I think), but I know a guy that will buy off the other cards in the set. It's the same guy who I hoped would have the Levrault single, but unfortunately did not. Let me know if you want to pursue this--I can pretty much guarantee that you would be one of the very few who could claim a complete Allen Levrault collection! Jason

    Next year will likely be a "correction" year to get the guys in who more or less deserve the nod but are passed over due to good first year eligibles. I think Sutter deserves to be in there, as does Gossage. However, I don't think both will get in at the same time. Voters might have a hard time voting for both of them, which could sadly end up meaning neither gets in. I agree that Lee Smith was a compilier at the beginning of the cheap save age.

    Can someone explain to a newbie like myself what happened to Micah Owings? If I remember right, he was very highly touted as a hitter coming out of high school.
