  1. A few game-used items, specifically cleats, that I was hoping I might be able to pin a value on: - 1982 pair of Rollie Finger cleats - 1984 dual signed Robin Yount cleats - 2008 dual signed Corey Hart cleats I have all three in my possession, and all three have been worn by each player. Just looking for opinions on what others feel they are worth. I plan on getting Rollie to sign his pair next month at Waukesha Sportscards. The Yount signatures are probably a 5 or 6 out of 10 grade, so not the greatest. The Harts came from Legends and are obviously in nicer shape than the other two pair. Some other game-used items I've picked up that I'd value everyone's opinions on: - a game-used base from Miller Park - Don Sutton locker room plate from '82 - Paul Molitor signed, game-used batting glove from when w/MN Twins - Ted Simmons unsigned game-used 2008 jersey w/MLB authentication - Carlos Villanueva signed 2007 Cerveceros game-used jersey - Mike Cameron signed game used cool-base navy blue jersey - Mike Cameron signed game used fielding glove - 1982 World Series game 1 ticket stub signed by Mike Caldwell (winning pitcher) I know game-used items, whether signed or unsigned can vary greatly, so that's why I was asking for some more valued opinions from the board members here. Thanks guys!
  2. Yeah, I was very surprised to see that the more recent Brewers stuff went for way more than I felt it should have. I would've thought the Braves stuff would have went for more since it's more scarce. But I guess you never know what people are looking for on any given day. What'd you end up taking home from there, deersveum12?
  3. There was pretty noticeable snow flurries in Eagle, WI this morning into the afternoon. Not pleased.
  4. There is another auction starting tomorrow at 10am with nothing but signed photos. There are a bunch of items from the 50's - 70's, not too many photos of current Brewers. The website is www.houseinthewoodsinc.com and you can view the collection online. Also bid online too if you wanted.
  5. Did anyone else attend the auction at "The House in the Woods" in Eagle, WI that was mentioned in the JS yesterday? I came away w/a pretty good haul.... a bat signed by Gov. Thompson, Senator George Petak, Bud Selig, Uecker, Ulice Payne Jr, Yount, Gorman Thomas, Sal Bando, Ken Sanders, Jim Gantner, and Johnny Logan. I also got balls signed each by: - George Bamberger - President Ulice Payne Jr. - Red Schoendienst w/1957 World Champs inscription - Calvin Coolidge Julius Caesar Tuskahoma McLish w/Buster inscription (Cal McLish) - 1957 Braves baseball: Johnny Logan, Felix Mantilla, Andy Pafko, Bobby Thompson #34, '57 Braves World Champions Mgr Fred Haney, Joey Jay #49 Overall, I was very impressed with how it was handled and how effecient it was. There were a couple other balls I was interested in, but the prices were a little too steep for my blood. Really glad I found this in the Journal Sentinel yesterday. This auction house is actually closing up shop next month too.
  6. Anybody else get Doug Melvin to sign anything today? I got him to sign an authentic hat for me. Might not be worth too much, but I basically worship the guy and there surely can't be too many signed Doug Melvin hats floating around out there!
  7. Any chance you might have a pekka rinne bobble? I've got an alternate Overbay I'd trade.
  8. Want to add the bat and prince & Braun photo to my order?
  9. Naturally, Bob Brenley didn't like the celebration when the topic came up during the Cubs & Pirates game going on now. The other announcer admitted he laughed at it.
  10. Zach, if you have any luck obtaining another bottle from last year, I'd offer a trade straight up for one of the 1982 bottles when I recieve them. Let me know if that interests you at all.
  11. I was actually bidding against zachlaka and happy youngster on an auction for a champagne bottle from last year on mlb.com's site when I decided to just check ebay for the heck of it. I've never really looked outright for them until now, so it was a spur of the moment decision. Zach, sorry to drive the price of last year's bottle up on you!
  12. Any ideas on what an unopened bottle of champagne used to celebrate being 1982 AL Champs would be worth? I just picked up a pair for about $160 and was wondering if I got a decent deal on it. Thanks.
  13. I don't have any of the bobbles you're looking for, but I'd love to throw some cash your way for the Branyan 16x20 if you'd be willing.
  14. I've been toying with this idea lately too. I live in a condo, so I'm only responsible for the inside contents for insurance purposes. I took a rough estimate of what I felt everything was worth and just added it onto my coverage until I can get something more precise done. I know there are varying opinions on Legends of the Field, but their website states they do appraisal services.
  15. I got some bricks @ Legends for $20/piece. I got Ladd, Gantner, and Cooper each on a brick today. So far I have those three, Simmons, Molitor, and Yount. I think I will get Caldwell and Fingers at Waukesha Sportscards in the coming months.
  16. I ended up going to Legends signing w/Gantner, Cooper, and Pete Ladd. It was a good time, as I got there towards the tail end so it wasn't busy. Got some '82 team items signed, and pictures w/each of them as well.
  17. About a half hour before the game, we didn't even know where Niekro would be signing because there was nobody in line at the time. But after the he threw out the first pitch, there was a good hundred people or so in the line. The line didn't move too fast because he was pretty friendly w/everyone and allowed multiple signatures. He signed for the first 3 innings, so I'm sure I could've gone through the line again had I wanted to.
  18. For the Niekro signing last month, it was two signatures per person.
  19. batting helmet, retro hat, bat? I've got a 3,000th hit ticket stub signed from Kansas City that's pretty cool too, just an idea.
  20. If someone is willing to trade a Brett Lawrie bobblehead given out by the Rattlers, I should have an extra Molitor bobble that is being given away in Beloit this weekend. If someone is willing to make that trade, I will definitely have an extra. Let me know! Thanks, Todd
  21. Hopefully the Dodgers acquire him sometime so he can play in AAA for the Albuquerque Isotopes! That would be sweet.
  22. Well, this has officially been posted on the Legends and Waukesha Sportscards websites. Definitely not the prices that were listed in the initial post.
  23. I might be interested in the Gantner & Thomas hat. Not sure what you want back in return but I have a Hardy omlb ball signed on the sweetspot. I also have some 8x10's as well.
  24. Thanks for the input about the hat. It turns out that Niekro is the only Brewer / Brave HOF'er that I don't have a bat signed by, so I'm going to go that route instead. Anyone have a spare bat they want to part with or where to pick up a Louisville Slugger for a decent price?
  25. With Phil Niekro signing in Appleton on Friday, I was wondering what the more seasoned collectors would think about adding him to a single-signed Milwaukee Braves hat by Hank Aaron. I know Niekro didn't have much of a career in MIL, but he was signed by them and a subsequent HOF'er. Would it decrease the value of the hat drastically if I added him to it? Increase it?
