  1. I believe in the old cliche, "Great pitching will always beat great hitting." I just think Sabathia and Carmona are that great of pitchers that they were able to shut down the Yankees lineup.
  2. How and the heck did he fit in that jersey?! It's a size 44, I remember him being a little bit on the thicker side during his time in Milwaukee.
  3. Brian, there are actually two w/Sheets on the cover. The first has him in his Indy Indians jersey, 3/4/2001 edition. The other Sheets was a SGA promo at Miller Park a couple years ago. There was also a cover w/Nick Neugebauer on it as well, I think Indy Indians uniform as well. I can't recall as I have it stored away. And if you want old school Baseball America's, there's one w/Teddy Higuera on it from like 1988. Hope this helps.
  4. I second the bizarro-Jenkins reference.
  5. Yep, I'm done here. I've tried to stay positive, but enough is enough. I wished I still didn't have as many tickets as I do to the remaining games this season. I can't wait for the pitching & coaching staff to be completely overhauled com October 1. Can't wait. So glad we have this Linebrink character to put the bullpen over the hump for the rest of the season. Sure am tickled pink that Sheets gets to go tomorrow, cause he'll most assuredly do well tomorrow. When was the last time he actually beat Zambrano head to head? And Parra on Thursday -- he's thrown what, maybe 3 innings all month? It sure seems like it. He'll be nice and sharp. And what will really burn me the most? Well, come tomorrow morning when my very disliked manager, who is the biggest fair weather fan I've ever met, comes and asks me what happened last night while reminding me that this is the typical Brewers team of old who "just knew they wouldn't do well this year", I might just unleash verbal tirade after tirade in his direction. If you have nothing positive to add to a conversation outside of needling me, just stay the heck out of my way. End rant.
  6. That's the exact same angle my blue Molitor is on as well. I'll have to try wedging some cotton in the back, thanks for the idea 20fry.
  7. blue Gorman Thomas for it. PM me if anyone is interested, thanks.
  8. According to Haudricourt's new blog, Gross' plane still has not arrived as of 6pm and has been replaced w/Hart in the leadoff spot. So the odds of a stolen base just increased dramatically.
  9. I've thought about trying to get an autographed ball for quite some time -- I've got one of a bunch of today's greats, Arod, Pujols, David Ortiz, Miggy Cabrera, Jake Peavey, Verlander (obtained pre-nohitter) -- but I can't justify spending the cash to pick one up. Plus, I'm not really a big fan of Bonds either. I guess the closest thing to Bonds memorabilia is my 2007 Sheets All Star jersey!
  10. I like the changes, but not the fact that Yuku is now deemed inappropriate at work now. Great, work production has to increase!
  11. I'm starting to crave me some cheese sammiches!! C'mon, lets scratch out a run here!
  12. I have done this race the past few years, not officially racing, but just walking and having a good time. Found out Thursday it was sold out and wasn't registered. So, I went golfing up in Hartford at Erin Hills. Needless to say, I spent way more energy walking that golf course than anything else. The caddy said if you walk the course, which we did, it's almost 9 miles of pure hilly terrain. If there's a next time, I'm getting a cart!
  13. How about a Bill Hall bobblehead from this year, just the regular version? And also, I guess I kind of gave up on the Favre jersey as well, sorry.
  14. I had the actual letter printed out and sitting on my desk when I got in to work this morning. It was the first time I was laughing while at work in quite some time!
  15. I've got an extra of the following: -- Carlos Lee (white jersey) from 2005 -- Don Sutton (pinstripes) from this year (no box though) -- Bill Hall (pinstripes/full size) from this year -- Ted Simmons (pinstripes) from last weekend -- Chorizo from last weekend as well. I thought I had an extra Caldwell, but I apparently do not.
  16. Pedro, how about I just send you the two blue & white versions that you are looking for? It's the least I can do for your generosity.
  17. I was part of a larger group that stayed at the Shamrock across from Noah's Ark 3 years ago. The place is not the greatest, and that's putting it nicely. The only thing it has going for it is that it's exactly right across the street from Noah's Ark. There are other much nicer hotels to stay at that are just as close. As mentioned earlier, the Flamingo is close as well and is a pretty decent.
  18. Messiah, I have an extra Don Sutton bobble, just the regular blue & white pinstripe version. I can trade you that along w/the upcoming Weeks bobble for the blue Simmons from last night.
  19. Do you need any of the 1982 bobbleheads given away this year? I have duplicates of most of those as well, no retros for those either unfortunately.
  20. Yep, I have the plain versions of Hall, Fielder, and will have a Chorizo come Sunday. Sorry, no retro versions though. All 3 for the jersey, or is that not enough for you? If not, I might be able to dig out a couple extras from previous years -- I know I've got a Carlos Lee white jersey that I could include as well.
  21. What would you be interested in trading for? I've got your average, run of the mill bobbleheads that I'm sure you already have... The only thing Brewer-related that I could trade would be a Rob Arra panoramic picture of Miller Park that goes for about $30 on ebay. I could always throw some cash your way as well. Let me know, or send me a PM.
  22. Time Warner Cable in Racine. Check tonight's in-game thread. Thanks for making me watch the Scubs game on WGN boys!
  23. Oh, how I long to be as awesome as you, Trwi7! Better yet, I'd be happy being half as awesome if that meant I could see the game, but instead I am keeping a watchful eye on our neighbors to the south on WGN.
  24. Right, but I don't get WMLW down where I am in Racine, but that's another problem!
  25. I feel like I'm missing something here... trying to watch the game in Racine, the game on FSN is some high school girls basketball game. This does me no good, so I try to listen to MLB audio and that is not working either now. How are you guys watching it on FSN?? Oh well, maybe the 3rd time's the charm and I can unearth my radio and listen the old fashioned way. edit: now I can't even get the right color font!
