  1. joe block tweeted this this morning Brewers are 22-21 vs teams over .500, one of six teams in all of MLB with a winning record against teams with winning records.
  2. that will never happen in a million years. first, trading a top 3 SP for another top 3 SP doesnt happen. second, trading a player with an option like Gallardo for a player hitting FA makes no sense. third, adding a prospect on top of gallardo to get 2 months of Lester makes even less sense. your proposal is a fleecing of the Brewers with the mention of them also getting Lester back next year.
  3. The Brewers have spoken to the Sox about Lester, reports Jon Heyman of CBS Sports. Milwaukee was said to have asked the Rays about David Price as well, but Price might not be dealt now, and Lester would cost less to acquire. Heyman notes that Boston has top pitching prospect Jimmy Nelson to offer as a centerpiece and has a deeper farm system than it has in prior years. Nelson ranked 38th on Baseball America’s midseason list of the game’s Top 50 prospects, and MLB.com ranked him 53rd on their midseason Top 100.
  4. bump because The Brewers have spoken to the Sox about Lester, reports Jon Heyman of CBS Sports. 5. and just to throw out how bad it would be to lose Gennett... here are the 2B FA available currently for next year Second Basemen Emilio Bonifacio (30) Alexi Casilla (30) Mark Ellis (38) Rafael Furcal (37) Chris Getz (31) Tyler Greene (31) Kelly Johnson (33) Nick Punto (37) - $2.75MM club/vesting option with a $250k buyout Brian Roberts (37) Ramon Santiago (35) Rickie Weeks (32) – $11.5MM vesting option Ben Zobrist (34) – $7.5MM club option with a $500k buyout
  6. worrying about the 2016 rotation is really silly when we have a front office and owner who clearly are willing to sign FA SP to fill holes. in 2016? Doug and Mark will go out and fill those holes on the market if internal options/extensions havent already happened.
  7. this is the MLB.TV free game of the day for anyone out of market for either team like myself!
  8. as if any of us needed another reason...
  9. brewers cant afford to lose MI players (Segura/Gennett) since they really have nothing behind them to replace them in the short term. cant imagine that Scoots is apart of the deal.. maybe they can take Weeks off us? PLEASE?
  10. yeah, not to be rude or anything, but theres an entire forum designated for transaction rumors, you should have looked over there first.
  11. well they do follow that up with 4 games against the Cubs and then a weekend against the Dodgers in LA

  13. duckface. larussa is duckfacing. UGH.
  14. I dont see a need to make a trade before July 31st, any bench player or bullpen arm will probably be available in August after clearing waivers (like a Morneau/Byrd type last August)

  20. Mills has been DFA'd by Toronto today
  21. not reading the article, but pulling the ball means youre early in your swing, right? so makes sense with oblique injuries and a thumb injury that he isnt planting and twisting fast enough to get ahead of the ball to launch it to LF.
  22. fixed to how Onley meant you to say that
