  1. There, I fixed it for you... I dont hate Loe, I think he's a serviceable middle inning reliever. he is in his final arb year, so he'll be in line for a decent pay increase over the $4 mil line, and I think thats too much for him/brewers bullpen. Its a shame, I think. I mean, his numbers have gotten worse as the time in MKE has gone on, but he's still been a really servicable piece in the pen, someone you can count on for 60 - 70 games a year.
  2. I think Gamel is more likely to get that OF/INF spot over Johnson only because Ramirez/Hart probably wont be spelled that much, and Gamel would get more chances if he's backing up 1B, 3B, RF/LF.
  3. I didnt even think of Green, good point, he's more versatile than Gamel. I feel bad for him, I just dont know how he fits anymore now that Hart made that transition to 1B so well. It really put a wrench in Gamels future...
  4. what about Colby Lewis?
  5. Ichiro has 2606 hits in the MLB at age 38. hitting 3000 is obtainable! has to be one of the greatest contact hitters in baseball history
  6. Who is backing up the middle infield then? I don't know if there is room for Ishikawa and Gamel since they both play first and bat left handed. I would rather see Maldonado, Schafer, middle infielder (Bianchi/Gonzalez/FA), Gamel or Ishikawa and another right handed bat with pop. If they get the right handed hitter off the bench this off season I would feel real confident in the position players on this team. honestly, you could have a bench with the following players, C: Maldy IF: Bianchi/Ishikawa/Gamel OF: Schafer/Gamel that bench would be better than what we started 2012 off with C: Kottarras IF: Ishikawa, Izturis/Ransom, Conrad OF: Morgan
  7. The one question I have is Ishikawa. He was probably the best pinch hitter on the team, but there's probably not a place for him with Gamel on the team. I mentioned him in another thread, he's a cheap bench option, only in his first year of arbitration, I think you'll see him on the bench and Bianchi in AAA to start the year of Segura hits Spring Training at a decent clip.
  8. I'd assume it means no Return of the Greink-i, but not necessarly Dempy or Jackson
  9. I think they'll keep Ishikawa on the bench, too.
  10. Melvin/Ash just said in a pres conference: Hart at 1B Aoki in RF Gamel on the bench as utility guy problem solved. heres hoping Schafer platoons in RF/CF with Aoki/Gomez!
  11. from the presser today for winter and plans for 2013: Hart at 1B Aoki at RF Gamel from the Bench Segura is nice at SS, apparently Gonzalez could still be in the mix? Axford will be the closer very unlikely to spend big money on rotation arm (RIP Return of the Greink-i)
  12. Ash and Melvin apparently stated that Aoki will be in RF next year in their presser this morning!
  13. So much to be optimistic about, even just a day after the year ended. Here are a few things to look forward to this winter and through spring training... NL Awards Braun for MVP! A-Ram for Gold glove! Aoki for Rookie of the Year! Going after that elusive FA arm! Our rotation young arms! 1400 strike outs! By Pitchers! The offense! No major changes needed! A tweet here or there! Possible extensions! (Hart, Aoki, Gomez) I for one am excited for AZL/Winter league ball, heres hoping some of the young bucks can keep up their performance from the summer, through winter and into spring ball! Let's keep this optimism going! If anything was proven in the second half, is that this team is good. Dealt two vet arms from the rotation, won a ton of games, bats woke up, bounced back from losing every-day 1B and SS, THIS IS EXCITING!
  14. SO HAPPY THAT THIS THREAD WAS A HIT!!! GET READY FOR THE OFFSEASON!!! SO MUCH TO BE OPTIMISTIC ABOUT!!!
  15. seriously, what has gamel done that has warranted time at 1B over giving Aoki fulltime in RF? because thats what it comes down to, do you start Gamel or Aoki every day? Aoki gets my vote.
  16. LAST GAME OF THE YEAR, WHAT A 2nd HALF THIS HAS BEEN!!! NOTHIN BUT LOVE FROM HERE ON OUT!
  17. I mean... its not a bad assumption!
  18. isnt it more strain on an arm/shoulder to go from rotation to pen than pen to rotation, just in the number of games played/warmup time? after last night, im sold on Parra being gone. keep Loe. keep Veras. get rid of parra please.
  19. almost bought tickets to tonights game to watch him pitch one last time, to find out itwasnt tonight, but today, and I work.
  20. Trout will be the first ROY/MVP winner since Ichiro
  21. who was the last ROY/MVP? Ichiro?
  22. love the A's making the playoffs because it puts more strength into them getting a new damn stadium!
  23. dont they need to have Scarpetta on the MLB roster next year? isnt he out of options? theres one of your BP spots right there
