  1. he's only leading because Billy Hamilton can't figure out how to get on base
  2. they've got a stretch of games from 6/5 - 6/19 with no breaks before 3 days off within 7 days. they could definitely go with 6 man rotation to limit innings for Davies/Anderson/Nelson
  3. read, its cash or player to be named later. Why would you cut someone if you can get something (anything) in return?
  4. http://espn.go.com/mlb/story/_/id/15528312/carlos-gomez-houston-astros-discusses-feeling-disrespected-newspaper-column yesh.... such an easy thing for a writer to avoid having happen, just sloppy writing...
  5. its a third of the way through May and everyone wants people to shift positions already... June, July, August, September... we have a long season ahead, no need to rush to move anyone to a new position right now. You can move him to 3rd base in August if someones interested in Hill, 1 - 2 months of everyday 3B will give you an idea of if he'll be the "future" or not at that position.
  6. there could be a DH in this next labor negotiations this off-season
  7. Unlikely? Right now he would be a lock. Has been one of the Top 3 in all of baseball at 1B so far. Now whether or not he can keep this pace or slightly below it for two more months is obviously questionable, but then again I am surprised he has stayed hot this long. I would say he has a decent shot at an All Star bid. That being said that has nothing to do with the home run derby as they changed the rule to allow non all stars to be selected. Yoenis Cespedes took part in 2013 despite not being an all star selection. Unless it has been changed back to the old rules he doesn't need to be an all star. Sure but the other two are Rizzo from the Cubs and Belt from the Giants. Working for Carter is the fact the Brewers need a representative and Braun has a great deal of antipathy from the league office, Lucroy may not be a Brewer by the All Star game and Gennett has missed significant time. Working against Carter are the facts that Goldschmidt and Votto are likely to start hitting more and have name recognition (ignoring the debate is the All Star for truly the best players or the best half season) and the Braves only real notable position player is Freeman. Right now Braun is the team rep, no doubt about it. It would take him falling off a cliff or getting injured to not be.
  8. when you go into the season with the expectations to win 62 games, its a lot more fun when they begin to exceed that expectation! SET THE BAR LOW, ENJOY WHEN THEY SURPASS IT!! BOOYAHHH!!!!
  9. I LOVE FUN BASEBALL!!!!!!!!!@
  10. yeah, the door will be open for Davies/Lopez in a week or two to help with the 5th spot
  11. props to anyone who had April 5th in the "Date Matt Garza goes on the DL" pool!
  12. Which should also help his already minuscule trade value. Shortening his window to impress anyone isn't good for his trade value, nor is a sore shoulder issue. Teams already would need to weigh what he shows this year vs. his horrible 2015 performance. If that's only a dozen starts as opposed to 15 or 16, it's hard to justify taking on any reasonable portion of his contract for this year and next. shortening his window prevents yet another year on his contract from vesting... which if anyone trading for Garza is concerned on his health should be delighted by knowing that he wont vest.
  13. if he gets traded after hitting 32 homers by August 1, yes they can.
  14. Yeah buddy!!! Thanks for getting this going! !
  15. Record: 62-100; 5th place in the NL Central Team MVP: Ryan Braun Home Runs: Carter (34) Wins: Jungmann, 10 Bold Predictions: Brewers only division wins are against the Pirates
  16. I mean, when they signed Jaso I think that was a sign that Rogers was not going to get much playing time in Pittsburgh
  17. am I the only who read this and immediately thought "Randy Wolf was still playing??!"
  18. I am really excited for the cba negotiations coming!!
