  1. This is a spot I wouldn’t have pulled Chacin. I get why but I would’ve went one more batter with him.
  2. I hope when I’m 89 I will own a baseball team.
  3. Nope. I’m right there with you. It would be doing the opposite of what I thought we were doing as an organization. I really was pumped to think we were headed in a different direction. A move like that makes me think Stearns will try to parlay this job into a larger market one.
  4. I’d be fine with it. They’d deplete their farm even more and would be giving up on Russell who has been a better overall player this season.
  5. All we can do is go by his words. So far it’s that he’s a shortstop. He plays shortstop. And we need a shortstop. Arguing over whether he'd be willing to play a different position in a pinch is like deciding not to put an offer in on your dream house because the carpet is not a light enough shade of beige. Where did I say we didn’t need a shortstop? Or that we shouldn’t trade for him because he will only play shortstop? We get it. You want him. Now let others discuss it as well. Pros and cons. They can coexist in threads.
  6. I don't know if that specific question was answered, though. He was asked what position he would like to play if traded, not whether he's open to shifting over to 3B in late-inning situations or spot starting there 1-2 times a week. All we can do is go by his words. So far it’s that he’s a shortstop. He plays shortstop.
  7. That was your original reponse to my post. A post that had no speculation and only Machado’s words. Your Nelson/TOR comments may not be about Machado but it sure shows that what you mention above is exactly what you do. It’s just that this time it goes against what you want. You got called out, didn’t like it, and had a hilarious reponse. It’s okay, we can all do better...
  8. It really isn’t that simple.
  9. This coming from the guy who was arguing that the Brewers have jerked Villar around position-wise is just ... odd. I mean, Villar was in no position to determine where he played on the field. He didn't have the track record to do that. Machado obviously has a bigger track record. But that doesn't really matter. Machado is a SS, and that's where I would imagine he would see 99% of his playing time with the Brewers. That position, other than some decent play from Saladino in limited action, has been a black hole in the lineup. Machado would immediately solve the team's biggest short-term offensive weakness. And yes, I took the Nelson quote as saying, basically, "Hey, this guy isn't going to be with us much if at all this year, so don't be surprised if we do something to shore up that area." Yeah, it's probably a stretch, but this is the season for wild rumors and speculation. Oh my. Get called out and respond back with anything your can think of. Villar and his situation have nothing to do with anything being discussed. Heck, even you say that in your post, so why even mention it? Response of the day at its early...
  10. Hey, I know a team that can use one of those! I get it regarding Machado, though. He came up through the Orioles system as a SS, only to be thrown over to 3B to accomodate JJ Hardy. I would imagine he'd like to primarily play one position. I have to imagine that he would be willing to fill in at 3B, though, if Shaw needed a breather. The guy has never come across as a locker room cancer or a me-first guy, so I'm not real sure where that idea is coming from. A few of you guys are making some pretty big logistical leaps in my opinion. You mean like taking a comment from the GM about Nelson not pitching until September and flipping it to us acquiring a TOR pitcher? .... I don’t think anyone is flipping anything. He said he’s a shortstop only, yet you’re the one putting words in his mouth saying he would probably be willing to play 3B. I mean, huh? I don’t know if he’s a clubhouse cancer or not but that quote answered the question a couple posters talked about earlier in the thread. They wanted to know if he would be okay filling in for Shaw against lefties and/or defensive double switches. Well, that was answered by the man himself.
  11. Found this on Twitter :
  12. The fact that the Milwaukee Brewers have been prominent (and perhaps leading for a time) bidders on premium players like Darvish and Machado under DS should be exciting enough for us. One of these times it's going to happen. It already happened January 26 when Lorenzo Cain signed his deal. He was and is every bit the star Machado and Darvish are. And Yelich.
  13. Said this from the moment Knebel got the 'closer' role back. This team did so well managing the bullpen situationally in late innings when Knebel was out. Why they would go back to defined roles like that is baffling. 17 games over .500 is proof that the current bullpen usage is working. Not only that but Knebel has been pitching well this season. He’s even walking less than a season ago. No reason to change what they’re doing.
  14. Knebel is just fine. His stats are ridiculous as well. Some nights it’s just not going to work out.
  15. If you don't swing the bat but the ball hits it, it's still a foul ball. I'm pretty sure Rock is correct about this. Hands are part of the bat, Rock is correct. If you don't swing, and ball hits your hands, it's a foul ball. Huh? If you don’t swing you get first. If you do swing, it’s a strike.
  16. I wonder if fans of other teams say the exact same thing? But there is actual data that shows we get less calls than the majority of teams.
