  1. Would be pretty rare for a contending team to trade contributing ML pieces during the season. But this roster makeup is pretty rare as well, so who knows? Buckle up! It’d be pretty great if we didn’t have to trade for pitching at all. Obviously that would take performance from those currently as well as get some luck with Nelson coming back and/or one or more of our young guys being the real deal.
  2. I’d probably let May and June play itself out.
  3. In other years without having our depth I could understand Suter continuing on but not when he has options and/or can be shifted to the pen with quality pitchers waiting at AAA.
  4. Jeffress has been overshadowed by Hader’s ridiculous stat line but he’s been damn impressive himself.
  5. Just realized where that ball landed. I know outfielders should be able to catch that but it wasn’t too far behind where the shortstop plays. Yikes.
  6. That’s where good communication at home plate might get you a run. Well at least we tied it up. This team really needs Villar to catch lightning in a bottle and secure that sixth spot in the order. It just is needed.
  7. I like Hader for only one since we are down. Can use him tomorrow this way if we have a lead.
  8. Well, 8th inning or bust in this one. Yelich-Braun-Shaw-Thames need to produce at least one. This would be a perfect example of when a manager should use their closer in the 8th inning.
  9. Exactly. On 1st with two down in a one-run game is the absolute perfect time to attempt a steal. You are going to get caught once in a while. But that's not gonna stop the Villar hate. He is below replacement level currently as he was last season. That doesn't help. I was a big Villar fan in 2016. He just flat out has been a pretty bad player since then. It's not like people are just ripping on the mistakes of a guy who is a great player. Getting thrown out there isn’t a mistake though. It happens. Not gonna make it 100% of the time and it was the right time to try to run. Oh well.
  10. Yeah, if he is going to steal he better make it 100% of the time. Just awful. So awful. How can Villar not be safe all the time? DFA already.
  11. Both so close to taking it out of the park. Nice to get it back to one run.
  12. This team would benefit greatly if they had a good bat in the sixth spot.
  13. I don’t have an issue with Suter getting a shot to start but I will have an issue if they don’t make a change when it’s apparent he’s not that good.
  14. I see teams consistently field teams of 11-13 players. I think my junior year it was like 13 players and we weren’t that bad. This year my high school is fielding a 11 man roster. My high school was pretty darn small...so if you think your school won’t field a spring team then your school must be pretty dang small. We lost a ton of players to track and a few to golf. It was kinda sad because some of those guys were really good before they switched in middle school. That being said I understand summer baseball has a lot of problems and downsides too. Where I lived we would lose players to jobs and farming in the summer. Your area sounds a like like mine. I probably should’ve been more clear. We wouldn’t have the three teams we do right now. We would lose quality players like you mentioned above and probably have 12-13 players maybe for a varsity team.
  15. Agreed. While it wasn’t like their first, it stands alone. Very, very funny. Happy for those guys to follow up what they did the first time around as they seem like quality guys.
  16. Just don’t think it’s realistic to think if the Brewers are contenders that they’ll move Braun. Feel it’s more wishful thinking on your part. After season if he’s put together a nice season, I’d believe that a lot more. And right now, I like the luxury we have with our top five on any given game day. Could pay dividends over the course of a season.
  17. An AAA roster? No. They’re major leaguers. Good ones? No. But they’re major leaguers. It’s a cop out to say otherwise. Chacin pitched well and that’s a good thing for the Brewers.
  18. Trading him probably means we aren’t in the mix this season.
  19. How elitist are we to think all kids can play AAU/travel teams? Eliminating high school sports would be terrible. Absolutely terrible.
  20. MY favorite player shuts the door. Third shutout in four games. Don’t care who the opponent is, that’s good stuff.
