  1. I'm so happy it was only three with Suter. That's what he's really good at. One time through, maybe two but they eventually figure him out and hit him hard. Good strategy today by CC.
  2. Yah I try not to get excited about one outing. Everyone lost their minds over Hader a few days ago and the very next day he blew the game. give me a break.
  3. Of course you don't. Don't have much faith in Suter. And we struggle to score theee runs. That's all. Hopefully a quick hook if he struggles.
  4. Do not feel good about winning this series now. Hopefully the Rockies just keep on losing.
  5. Stinks to blow this one. Really does. Biproduct of a lousy offense that just hasn't shown up much since before the all-star break. Time for them to come through and win one for this pitching staff that has been busting their butts to keep us in this race.
  6. Cutting McCaffery is a mistake imo.
  7. Bubba Derby? Maybe. I was thinking more of the high upside guys. Not really sure that Derby has the stuff to be more than a back end or swingman starter. Peralta's strikeout numbers for Biloxi are eye-popping. It goes to show though how much our system has turned into a pitching-strong farm. Guys like Derby and Wilkerson, who have starter upside, and Taylor Williams who has Corey Knebel type upside, aren't even in our top 30. Yeah I was trying to add to the possibilities. I think Derby is lower on the totem pole than those others listed but if he goes and pitches well again to start the year in AAA he has to be a part of the discussion.
  8. Bubba Derby?
  9. The Brewers were so close to putting up a touchdown in this game. Many, many close calls for the Nationals.
  10. Sure. Agree to disagree. Seen the comments. Feel free to find them. If we are referring to when he first came up it was definitely justified. His control was all over the place(really really bad) and didn't deserve big innings. Just because he is doing better now doesn't erase the fact how eratic he was before and how his results were lucky to an extent. No need. It's why I said agree to disagree. You can go find them if it'll make you feel better though.
  11. You must have missed all the posts saying "he doesn't throw enough strikes" and "ignore the ERA, he hasn't been very good." Exactly.
  12. I don't know anyone that doubts his bullpen ability. Actually...no one. Sure. Agree to disagree. Seen the comments.
  13. Shaw twice and Aguilar. Man, could this game have been blown open. So close.
  14. This is what aces do. You don't have your best stuff, oh still toss up zeros. Well done! Let's get some runs.
  15. I'm guess because Villar and Sogard are smoking hot right now and Phillips hasn't proven a lick to be handed a spot in the lineup in the pennant race. Sogard had 10 hits in August. .944 OPS in last 7 days .928 OPS in last 14 days He's heated up along with Villar who is well over 1.000 in that same time frame. Kudos to Counsell for getting them in the lineup and hopefully putting some runs on the board.

  17. I would love to see: Villar- CF Walker- 2B Braun- LF Shaw- 3B Santana- RF Thames/Aguilar- 1B Pina/Vogt- C Arcia- SS Bring Broxton, Phillips or Perez in later in the game once we have a 1-3 run lead.
  18. Supposedly hitting 99 with SB and video of his slider looks nasty. Wasn't it Braun who said he had the best stuff in the organization? Maybe I'm wrong on that one.
  19. Getting game #2 is big. Leaves you with only having to win 1 of 2 to win the series. Let's go Jimmy. Continue on your ace-like ways!
  20. Adding Guerra, Wang and Williams should really mean the end of seeing Torres near a competitive ball game again.
