  1. Yeah, pitchers never got hurt before the year 2000, back when men were men and pitchers threw 150 pitch games and never had it effect their careers. There is no question that pitchers are hurt more frequently these days. I'm a believer that it's because of how it has changed. Hate on it all you want but things have changed for the worst in that department.
  2. I think he has reached innings limit Innings limit. Pitch counts. All things that got us into this mess of panzy pitchers in the 21st century.
  3. lol I hate to laugh because you never should when a guy gets hurt but my god Jimmy. This is as typical as it gets for Brewers fans. Just put s DH in already since pitchers are the most unathletic people in all of sports.
  4. 2B- Villar 3B- Walker LF- Braun RF- Santana 1B- Aguilar C- Pina CF- Broxton or Perez if CC wants to SS- Arcia It's not that hard CC.
  5. Thames had one of our four hits. A double and scored a run to be exact. In a 2-0 ball game. The only reason he won't start is because they are facing a lefty.
  6. Like Brian said, each ball hit out there just makes Brauns homer look that much better.
  7. It amazes me how terrible of athletes most pitchers are. Holy Jimmy Nelson. Act as if you've ever ran bases before.
  8. Number 300 came at a great time. Pound these idiots.
  9. I know it isn't related, but on that same guys twitter he has a thing for hard hit ball leaders and Braun is in 2nd. He's having quite the unlucky season, as his K rate isn't THAT bad to offset being 2nd in baseball in hard hit rate. Yep, Braun has been unlucky a bit but part of it as well is that he seems to not get many balls elevated. Not sure if his swing pattern has changed or what but if he could get the ball elevated again, dingers and doubles will happen.
  10. No point to adding Wilkerson until he's done with his playoff run.
  11. I think they would have if Scooter could play anything other than second base. That is what this all comes down to. I would love to have kept Scooter over a guy like Perez. Man would I have loved that. But when you can only put Scooter in a second base, you are just too limited.
  12. The 4-game sweep against the Twins and the 3-game sweep against the Reds are just so hard to over come. If they happen to get in the playoffs with that on their resume over the course of the last two months of the season, they will have definitely earned it.
  13. Travis Shaw (2nd half- .235/.313/.451/.764) has cooled down greatly. Thames(2nd half- .210/.294/.399/.692) being pretty much a turd and Braun having his own issues. It's a wonder how this team is only a couple games out of a playoff spot. This team can have light hitting in two spots for the defense they get out of those spots and that is shortstop and catcher. Manny Pina is a pretty good player in his role as is Orlando Arica. They NEED to figure out second base and center field and in a hurry. I don't know, maybe we dump Shaw/Thames this offseason to someone else because he's turned back into a pumpkin? Always too good to be true for the Brewers.
  14. Sort of a weird move for the Phillies. 600K for a month when they're not going anywhere this year anyway But yeah, at least he's not going to a different contender. Not sure if it was brought up elsewhere, but the Cards acquired Nicasio from the Phillies for a prospect. So the Pirates dumped him for $600k in salary relief BEFORE the waiver trade deadline for playoff eligibility, and the Phillies pay him for a week and parlay him into a prospect. He won't be eligible for the Cardinals' playoff roster, but he will certainly assist in getting them there. It shouldn't shock anyone anymore that a franchise as successful as the Cardinals continue to make playoff moves while a franchise as horrific as the Brewers continue to use the phrase "rebuild."
  15. Any offense that features guys like Broxton and Perez will never be that consistent. They both get on base about as much as I do from my lazy boy. It's brutal having them in the lineup consistently. Just kills any momentum a lineup would ever get. Sure they have hot spells but they definitely do not outweigh their cold spells.
  16. If the 2018 second basemen involved moving Thames, I am all for a signing of Walker. That would allow Walker to play a bit at 1B while Villar would get a lot at 2B. This would allow the Brewers to go into 2018 and tell Villar to focus on playing all over. Get reps at 3B/SS/2B and the OF. Put him all over the place and try to drive up his value. Yeah, we complain a lot about his defense here but if we can fool just one team, we have a good trading piece if he hits and runs anywhere near his 2016 numbers. I'd rather give Villar that utility guy name than Perez. We know what Perez is. His inability to get on base is just a killer to any lineup he's in.
  17. I do agree with this. I also don't know why brewerfan.net doesn't want the extra traffic. This site could be an even better place if let's say they teamed up with BrewCrewBall and had content on their opening page.
  18. If it is the Cardinals, I'll puke. Please let it be the Brewers but if not them, let the Rockies in. I can't stomach seeing the Cardinals even have the satisfaction of a 1-game playoff. Screw that franchise.
  19. I was just looking at that Isan Diaz stats because it felt as though he could be the next big thing at one point. Wow am I glad we got Chase Anderson from the Dbacks because he might be the only people that does anything. Back on point more, I believe that Villar should be the 2018 second basemen. He has really shown flashed of his 2016 self over the last month or so. A guy like Walker is nice because he gives you that professional at bat but I just don't want to pay that contract for what he provides.
  20. Yes. It is hard 99% of the time to be a fan of that franchise.
  21. I'm not even sure a team that gets swept at this point in the season by Cincy deserves a spot in the playoffs. But that is probably just my disgust talking.
  22. I agree that CC is being a bonehead in this series but I'm not sure how much it matters. I mean, one run. One stinking run again. Amazes me how this team has just fallen off the map offensively. This team has went from scoring a ton of runs in the first three innings of the game and holding on for a wild ride to just completely not scoring and sucking.
  23. I mean, he's thrown 2 innings in the past 10 days, and given up 2 game-losing HRs. Maybe it's an attempt to get him some confidence. This is what I was thinking. Let him get some success again. Couple that with having an off day tomorrow and it makes a bit of sense.
