  1. Yep, this team would still be leading the division if guys like Braun/Thames etc... were doing their part to knock in runs when they had opportunities. It's been quite the letdown.
  2. Cardinals traded Mike Leake to the Mariners today. Could this be us with another loss today? Not even sure who we could move.
  3. Garza seemed to take on a leadership/mentor role in the offseason with Luis Ortiz. Maybe you go up to him and tell him that you are putting Woodruff in his spot and bringing up Guerra to fill the fifth. Ask him to pitch out of the pen to cover innings that need to be and mentor a younger pitcher. If he can't do that, then so be it and move on.
  4. Barnes has become the Villar of these message boards. Expectations that they will never possibly meet and constant complaints throughout. Both have warts but can be good players for the Brewers. Give it a rest already people.
  5. This team was built this way but hasn't our last two draft picks been of a different mold? I mean, I understand that those players are a ways off but it has felt as though we have gone towards more contact, get on base types of players (Keston Hiura, Corey Ray). I do agree though that this team just need to be ridden out now. Braun and Shaw need(ed) to get hot and carry this team into the post season with some help from Thames, Walker, and Santana. If Braun and Shaw don't get moving, this season will drown with them.
  6. Silver lining; Garza, Torres and Drake are used in this mess which should probably keep them from any meaningful games the next few days.
  7. And we have struck outs six times in three innings of batting. I wish our media would ask Stearns some hard questions. Like why is Torres still on this team?
  8. The Garza hatred runs strong in some. A mess of an inning created by crappy defense. Heck even the one Garza booted around probably is an out if Pina just catches the ball. These are the nights that are so frustrating with this team. A chance to knock out the Cards at home and we lay an egg.
  9. I'm looking forward to seeing the Brewers go 20-11 to finish out the season and get in the playoffs. Should be a fun ride!
  10. There is your mistake. Pay someone after they have completed the job next time. Actually, every time.
  11. This (could) be a year of frustration for me. It is very much lined up to head back to Indy to win the Big 10 but I could very much see the Badgers stumbling against opponents that have no business beating them. I hope this doesn't happen and they just take care of business but it just feels too good to be real.
  12. This is where people are valuing the Packers money as if it was their own. I just cannot see Teddy T cutting Cobb this season because it would just bother Rodgers way too much for it to be worth it. There's no reason Cobb cannot still be one of the five receivers on this team. He will still of a role and will still make some tough catches in big spots. Will he put up video game numbers? Probably not. But I don't think the Packers need that from him to be successful this season. After this year, will he take a pay cut? Maybe and they might retain him again. If he doesn't want to go that route, then maybe I see the Packers moving on from him.
  13. I am good with them moving on from Garza only because I want to see Hader and Woodruff in the rotation. I also think if there is an injury, or two, there are guys to fill in that could give us close to what Garza is now. I would rather that spot go to the youth of this team because I feel as though they are ready. When you couple that with the main three of Nelson, Davies, and Anderson... you just might have something really special if Hader and Woodruff pitch like they are capable of.
  14. I guessed 15-12, I will gladly take being right but I'd like to be wrong and it be 16-11.
  15. 7 games for a chance at the division leaping over three teams to do so is pretty much out of it. The Brewers have a chance to basically knock the Cardinals out of it by beating them twice Tues and Weds of this week. Let the games begin!
  16. Please Juan Nicasio. What a get he would be and we could finally ditch either Torres or Drake.
  17. The colors were meh to me. I wish we would have used our retro blue and the yellow though.
  18. 2 back of the Cubs! 3.5 back of the WC! 5-4 road trip! And we aren't exactly playing our best baseball. Hopefully we are saving up for one big hot streak to push us to our 5th post season.
  19. Blue? Lol of course. A little humor to try to break the tension is all.
  20. Among all MLB players with 200+ plate appearances this season, Keon Broxton has the lowest Z-contact % (% of contact on swings on pitches in the zone) of all, with 68.9%. For comparison, Eric Sogard is 4th with 95%. Chris Carter is the only other player under 70%, in fact the only other one below 72%. This is one of those that you probably didn't need stats on because well, it's just so apparent that he had a contact problem. It is very interesting to see an ex-Brewer on there who (at a different stage of his career) had very little to no value as a player. Someone earlier mentioned that if we traded him they'd be scared he would he would drop 40 bombs. This stat right here probably keeps him from doing that.
  21. There's a reason Jansen's stat line is like a video game.
  22. Hader making it harder and harder for the "we can't use him in big situations because he walks too many" group.
  23. Hader just shows you how special he is. Makes hitters look absolutely foolish.
