  1. Brewers announce they exercise his contract option for 2016.
  2. Is that cheaper to do than buying one from the MLB?
  3. If I see a personalized jersey I feel as though that fan played t-ball and quit because they were horrible or were made fun of. Terrible of me to group certain people but it is just hard not to feel that way. You were never on the Brewers roster so don't get a jersey with your name on it. Sherzies (tshirt jerseys) are brutal too. Just get a standard Brewers shirt if you cannot afford getting a players jersey.
  4. We should just trade for Swihart ourselves and either put him at 3B or move Lucroy there.
  5. There's one good reason. Not to tick off Boras and Bryant. They may get an extra year of service but he may never forgive them for holding him back from his major league career. Hence, he may never sign with them again after this contract runs out. If he truly is a huge star, then I don't think I take that chance with him since they have plenty of money to sign players.
  6. I am going there over my spring break so I thought I'd look this one up and it's closed until Fall of 2015. Dangit! Any other suggestions for reasonable priced, nice golf course in Phoenix area?
  7. This is where it bothers me that he cannot, or the team members cannot, handle hitting in different spots in the order if there is a lefty or righty pitching. Now, maybe Gennett will hit lefties OK but I'd rather have my best hitters at the top of the lineup at all times. Against righties, that includes Gennett. Against lefties, it probably never will.
  8. Cotts. Cotts? I said LEGIT LHP. I am really starting to get worried about this pitching staff. Jungmann looks nowhere ready to be the #6, and serious questions about Nelson at #5. Beyond that, who else is there for the rotation? Thornburg maybe, but that's asking a lot from a guy coming back from injury and not in a starting role for well over a year. Bullpen isn't much better, only one LHP, Henderson looking like he won't be an option, etc. Jeffress and someone else like a Kintzler will really have to step up. Still won't be surprised if Melvin pulls off a deal before the season starts. Like it or not, he's in our bullpen. http://deltapoints.boardingarea.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/Sky.jpg
  9. Cotts.
  10. I predict Brewerfan.net will have the same design at the end of the season that it does today.
  11. Would love to see Rickie stay healthy and go off for an AL club.
  12. Why does Parra trying to make himself more valuable by seeing if he can fill in at 1B have anything to do with Lind? I'm glad a guy on our team is trying his hardest to see if he can get on the field anywhere he can. Kudos to Parra!
  13. Agreed. I can understand it not being the style of play you would like to see happen but again, there are more ways to play this game than some want to admit. Gomez is electric and yes, stupid at times. But for the most part, his positives way outweigh his handful of base running mistakes he is going to make. Honestly, without Elian Herrera last season, our base running was just fine and we put a lot of pressure on teams by doing it.
  14. If Matt Clark keeps slugging home runs, we better find a place for him on this roster. Back up 1B/corner OF, I do not care.
  15. Wow, if they hit more than 20 each by the start of July I sure hope we have 90+ wins. That is asking quite a bit but I would love to see it. Team would be electric.
  16. Record: 86 - 78 Playoffs: Yes, wildcard play in game and lose. MVP: Ryan Braun (he will be back to norm) Surprise: Adam Lind plays the season, stays healthy and is the left handed presence we need in our lineup Disappointment: Segura flames out again this season and will be looked at as a bench piece going forward. All stars: Braun, Gomez, Ramirez, Peralta Bold prediction: Peralta wins 20 games
  17. There are plenty of ways to manage a ball club. People always telling Gomez what to do and when to do it wasn't working. Since he has been allowed to be himself, he has flourished into one of the best outfielders in game defensively and offensively. He plays the game like a kid. I respect that about him and wish more did.
  18. Yes and we don't give up on a quality player like Davis with the raw power he has proven to have at the MLB level because he had a down season last year. Now, if he goes out and really struggles again this season against RHP, then we move towards a platoon or moving on completely. But it is absolutely crazy to move on from Davis completely against RHP because of a injury plagued season. This isn't about feelings. This is about allowing your young players to prove what they can and cannot do. Platooning him and occasionally starting him vs RHP when Braun/Gomez need a rest is hardly giving up on him. It is putting him in a position to succeed and more importantly putting the Brewers in a position to succeed. If Davis shows that he can consistently hit RHP I'm sure the Brewers will make a change. He looked hopelessly overmatched vs RHP last season and there are serious adjustments he needs to make in his approach. A power hitter with a low OBP is not very valuable in playoff games/big games/pennant races Completely different statements you are making. The last statement can only happen by not giving up on him against RHP. Sit him against stud RHP's, fine. Playing him only against lefties? Might as well not even have him on the team then.

  20. I'd rather overspend on a FA than put Segura anywhere near 3B. Terrible idea. And if it happens, we suck.
  21. I think it will be spread out more than you think. He doesn't want Gomez or Braun to run out of gas either. Yeah, Davis did not hit righties well last season but he just has way too much pop and is too young to be platoon only. That would be completely silly. Parra will play because ALL THREE need days off to make this season work. Parra sucks against lefties, so you'll probably never see him start there unless there is injury.
  22. Is Maldy a lock? What about Juan Centeno? As much as I love Maldonado's defense, if this guys hits, why not give him an opportunity? Adds another left handed bat option.
  23. And when we will the World Series this season, he'll have a ring to add to that glorious career.
  24. Derek Jeter & Paul Konerko last season Then again they were both awful last season... perhaps because their hearts weren't into it. I think there is something to thinking you're done already. Hunger is lost or this wouldn't be creeping into his mind the first week of spring training. Maybe I'm wrong and hope that I am but it sounds like a player that's here collecting his large pay check and not fully into this. I have a lot of respect for him and hope he comes out firing.
