  1. Milwaukee- Carlos Gomez Arizona- Archie Bradley, Braden Shipley and David Peralta Done deal!
  2. I agree with you to some extent but some guys just take longer to develop and learn the ways of the game. Hector had a pretty solid year last season in AAA. Now again, he could just be another AAAA guy that never really does much for us but he has shown the ability to be flexible and play 3B, SS, and 2B. He has shown some pop with the bat at the AAA level. Him being a top 100 prospect at one point only gives you just a tad more confidence that he may just figure it out. Judging him based on 20 at bat last season is pretty silly. Now has the guy torn it up in the minors all the way through? Nope. But he has slowly improved and is flexible, and does well enough with the glove to be considered as a backup IF for us. To think otherwise is not really using your resources as an organization very well. Same goes with Elian Herrera. Switch hitting IF who can play OF (albeit if there is only some disaster during your game) in a pinch. I'll take what he gave us last season because I believe he'll get on base even more this season. He has shown it through the minor leagues that he will get on base. I think having those two as options for M-IF and having guys like Rogers and Jimenez for the corner spots puts us in a decent position to make find some contributors to our team without having to pay a ton for it.
  3. Mike Morse in LF? I'll take what we have in Davis.
  4. Late bloomer. It has happened before. He could suck, but it's not like we had a great option with Reynolds there. I'd take my chances with Clark and Rogers being acceptable MLB players on the cheap. Heck, if we do not give them a try, we will never know if they become anything. It's not like they're starting. I'll take the chance.
  5. Yes I would rather give Matt Clark and Rogers an opportunity to whack away at left handers. Matt Clark slugged 4 bombs last season in not many plate appearances. Let's see what he can do for us at $500,000 instead of the strikeout king Reynolds.
  6. Also just one of those years some teams are not happy with their current lineups/pitching staffs and want to mix it up. The Dodgers could have very easily stayed with what they had and been just fine but wanted to go a different route.
  7. Entire career of his as the Brewers GM we've averaged 80 wins per season During the last five seasons we've averaged 82.5 wins per season. Great by Brewers standards
  8. Couldn't agree more. Just like him way too much to see him in a Cardinals uni. I understand that we will not have him back but please, not the Cardinals.
  9. I would think a team like the Yankees or someone with some money would be happy to have one of the best 2B in the game for around $12-$14 mil per season through 2017
  10. I think all of us would love for Hector to be THE guy but as we look, he's only had one pretty good season so it's hard to bite on him. But yes, I would love for him to get an opportunity at it.
  11. Some peoples trash is another persons treasure. Hopefully he hits under .200 for them as well.
  12. The problem with Halton is that he is absolutely horrid in the field and can only hit lefties.
  13. Saw the results on MLB trade rumors too. Well as far as it looks, not sure other than him that there is a guy to take a chance on anyways.
  14. I guess at least they can DH for him. We're stuck with our crappy hitters.
  15. It's already taking place? Weird. I thought it was later in the day. Where are you finding results?
  16. Delino Deshields. Plays OF and 2B. We have Parra who is our 4th OF and our manager has already stated that he wants Scooter to play against lefties. This kids athletic ability and base stealing could help us this year just by being a bench guy. Who knows, maybe he hits his stride completely and is the next "Gomez" type guy we have. I'd be on board with this selection since he will be turning only 23 years old. A great way to add a top prospect and give the guy a change of scenery and maybe hit on something without giving up any players. http://www.baseball-reference.com/minors/player.cgi?id=deshie002del
  17. Another strong addition for the Marlins then. Glad he's out of the division, he seemed to be tough to beat when we played against him.
  18. Think MA ever has a regret that he really should have gone for it harder with those studs in our lineup? I know we dealt for CC and Greinke but they could have probably done more if they had opened up the wallet more.
  19. 9:04am: The Marlins are actually adding a starter via trade, Joe Frisaro of MLB.com tweets. It is a right-handed starter with one year of control remaining, he says. Trying to not get my hopes up. Who could we want from them? I know nothing about their prospects.
  20. Elian Herrera does a pretty nice job with the stick and is a switch hitter. Can't count him out.
  21. Could Gomez get Joc Pederson from LA? Think they'd be crazy enough to do it? Could step in as our CF and when Taylor (if ever ready) comes up, he could shift to RF when Braun is ready to move to 1B.
  22. See below... (sorry)
  23. I never really had any faith in Doug trading one of our SP's for other players. I wish he would, but I never actually thought it would happen. I think some of it has to do with being scared of the unknown. If he trades away either or both of Lohse/Gallardo, who does he fill those holes with? I mean, yes we can sign another pitcher but it's not like there are ton of them that are worth a damn laying around.
  24. Dee Gordon is turning 27 and just had his best season. Maybe they see that he is entering his prime and is going to be a cheaper option than a Kendrick who they would then have to shell out $15 mil plus for? And if this Heaney guy has now been traded by two teams, maybe he's not the can't miss prospect you seem to feel that he is?
