  1. Marlins. They are gonna be tough. Dee Gordon gets on base. He's a pretty good defender. I would take him in a heart beat over Segura.
  2. Dee Gordon to the Marlins? More impressed by the day with them.
  3. You'll get no argument from me on that thought. The thought of watching RRR for another year, doing the same stupid things he has done since he came to Milwaukee sickens me. If ever there was going to be a reason to start fresh, and hire new management last year was it, but we did nothing... I'll leave it at that, since this board doesn't typically agree with the negative sentiments toward our manager. Complaining about the manager and saying if we just had a different one doesn't get you very far. It changes everything completely. Maybe you are better, but maybe you are worse. Way too many factors involved to say oh, well if the manager was different, we'd be off winning division titles. Now, not agreeing with his style of play is another thing.
  4. I think I remember reading that Kang said he would not sign with a team if he's going to sit the bench. I wouldn't either if I was him. He's been a proven player for a very long time and if a team wants him, he deserves a crack at starting with his track record.
  5. But we're all set and Doug has a broken ankle.
  6. We don't want our bench players to be too good. They may make our starters look like they shouldn't be starting.
  7. This is true with any franchise. The problem a lot of fans are having right now is that they cannot see this team competing for a WS so we ask ourselves, why are we not trying to move our good pieces for pieces of the future? And the answer we get more often than not is that DM/MA want to at least have the idea in the fans minds that we are trying to win, so they come out and buy tickets, merchandise, etc... As much as MA wants to win, he also wants to turn a profit. People that have obtained money in their lives don't throw away money. I truly feel that MA see's if he plays for the future, that he is throwing away money. This is where the disconnect comes in with the fans that see the whole picture of this franchise.
  8. All we can do is hope this blows up in their faces. It probably won't, but we can hope. Very similar to the Brewers, we just hope we get the best seasons from all of our players so that we can hopefully reach 90 wins and hopefully get a playoff spot. That's about all we can do as Brewers fans because our future is bleak the way we are operating right now.
  9. Me either. It'll haunt us. He'll play and play very well.
  10. Can someone make sure DM is seeing this? Make a trade for the future dangit. We are not winning a WS with the current roster.
  11. OBP is too low for me and paying him as much as we are paying Carlos Gomez is way too much cash for me. We can find a cheaper platoon mate that can put up similar numbers. No thank you
  12. Doesn't really help a ton against LHP for 2B. His splits are pretty much even but his OBP isn't great. Although I do like his flexibility on defense, I just don't see it with the money he is owed. ($7-10 mil per year)
  13. Or 95% Monday through Sunday! POSITIVE THINKING!!!!
  14. I would assume this means they are not looking at Krod anymore?
  15. I feel the same way. I know people want a winner next year but I honestly would be OK with struggling next year if it meant securing an opportunity at the future. It's just hard to believe this team can win it all the way it is set up now. Compete, yes. But other than that, just really uncertain. I would be dealing guys like Gallardo, Lohse, Gomez, Ramirez, Parra, Broxton, etc... Get the best and biggest return of prospects we can get and lets build something great for 2-3 years down the road.
  16. Maybe he doesn't actually fake the injury but could have had one of his assistants break it for him so like jerichoholicninja said, he could get some sympathy and get a better deal from other GM's.
  17. Pretty hard not to want that guy after watching that highlight reel. Impulsive me says let Segura be a part of a trade and sign that guy lol
  18. I really wouldn't mind seeing Gomez make the opening day roster and back up 2B, SS, & 3B. He could possible be the RH 2B that helps out Gennett vs. tough lefties and possibly is a decent RH PH for the Brewers who provides athleticism and multiple positions. At age 26, he might really be ready to step into the MLB level.
  19. There are players out there who may not be as great as Parra is as a defender but will give you about the same or better with the bat for a lot cheaper. Trade him, obtain a piece in the pen. Or make him a part of a larger trade to acquire some higher prospects.
  20. I just think it's weird to be so against giving the guy $1 mil when he could perform way past that dollar value.
  21. Maybe he'll have some pain killers that'll loosen him up a bit and make some trades in the upcoming week.
  22. What would we have to give up to get Zimmerman and Ian Desmond away from Washington? Gallardo or Lohse/Segura/??/??
  23. Ugh, why? So we can play with 4 outfielders like DM wants to try. (Half blue) http://m.mlb.com/news/article/101291546/always-innovating-brewers-gm-doug-melvin-open-to-new-outfield-alignments
