    I can't see Made in Milwaukee unless he's played enough 3B to confirm he can handle it. Most logically that would be at AAA because of Fischer holding 3B down in AA. Also, the contract negotiations would be affected if he were moved off SS especially since Boras is his agent.

    MLB players should be pissed! So let them take charge of their union! At $167 million the Dodgers pay more "Competetive Balance Tax" than the Brewers' and some others payroll.

    Quero has no substantial trade value after shoulder surgery and now a biceps injury. His high value will be regained only if and when his arm is demonstrably recovered. Sad but most likely true.

    Insurance at catcher a smart move. Quero's injury is reportedly his bicep, not the shoulder. Hardly a needle mover but I like the trade. I've always liked Cleveland so I hope it works out both ways.

    Looks to me like Quero is destined for 1B as long as he can continue hitting. But there is too much competition in this system there right now and in the near future. Sad . . .

    I'd stay away from Peralta who has been damaged by the narrowed ABS strike zone so that some of his high fastballs have become balls that used to be called strikes. This depreciates the other pitches he throws.

    I have the same reservations about including Henderson in a trade for Skubal. If they did I wouldn't include either Adamczewski or Moneys but rather something like Brett Wichrowski and Handelfry Encarnacion.

    Robbie Ray would give the Brewers the best long term track record of this group and the experience they need for playoffs with Woodruff out of the picture. To start I offer Wichrowski and Kuehner and go from there.

    If I were the Tigers I would expect several elite major league ready prospects for Skubal. I would not give that to them if I were the Brewers (and I had them).

    Give him a merciful DFA. He could rebound someday, somewhere, but this is the best option for him.

    I wouldn't trade Contreras before his free agent year and try to sign him if he's within our budget at that time. I'm not big on Quero as a starter at this point in his injury recovery. For what its worth, I think Ramon Rodriguez could be a decent backup.

    Too early to move Mitchell. His great talent needs consistent playing time for a longer period in MLB. At least until the end of the year and I wouldn't trade him too soon unless as part of a trade package for a high level player.

    To get the Twins two best players, admittedly for short term, I would expect to have to give up along the lines of Lara, Sproat or Drohan, and Burke or Hardin.

    Given their plethora of current prospects the Brewers are in position to overspend on some select higher draft picks.

    I agree that Williams will replace Rengifo fairly soon. Fine with me. I like Leonard but they could use him best right now in AAA as a fail safe for Andrew Vaughn who could play 1B and OF and as an emergency 2B-3B. They have no RH first base prospects right now save the wounded Luke Adam's. Wilken is not viable.

    My read on big power prospects is Fischer and Burke look to be at least good mlb players. Wilken looks shaky and might have to fight for at AAA bats in the near future. Luke Adams is injured, on hold and tba. Bitonti is also tba.

    My analysis is the Red Sox ran out of serious 3b trade options and knew of the Brewers interest in Harrison from recent discussions. So they sought out Durbin as a 2b-3b option with Marcelo Mayer. Durbin more likely fits 2b in the longer term where he's better defensively and his limited power works better. Then the teams worked around the two principal targets

    Jett playing SS going into spring training only makes sense. He's closest SS prospect to being ready with the bat. See if he can beat out Ortiz. Of itself that doesn't mean management intends to assign him to AAA as the principal SS.

    You don' t have to cash out equity to benefit from it. Reduce profits or borrow on the equity. Jeez!

    Attanasio group bought Brewers in 2005 for a reported $223 million. Forbes has recently valued the franchise at $1.7 billion, an increase greater than 7.5 times. I see a possible 5 year window of opportunity for serious contention for one or more championships. Why can't they in that term boost payroll $25 to $50 million? OK! Swing away all you tightwads. Ain't my money to play with.
