  1. Count me out! Take that, hawing! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gifhttp://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  2. never smoked a cigarette or used tobacco of any kind. Wow, I thought I was the only one! edit- just thought of another one. I've never learned how to swim. I can't even float.
  3. totally figures!! Just last week, one of my teams traded Carlos Marmol to a rival because I had Nathan securely in the bullpen and he was a luxury item. ARRRGH!!! Anyways, that is indeed a tough break for the Twins. How does he really expect to maybe pitch through it? Won't he be in pain all year? Couldn't he completely wreck the elbow or can't it get any worse?
  4. I've never been able to "do" those 3D artwork things that you stare at. It just doesn't work for me due to the vision problems I have. Same with 3D movies. They don't work for me. Never have, never will.
  5. It sure was nice to watch them on television tonight on MLB Network. Great to see a win and great to see Brewers baseball again!
  6. Let's say San Francisco wins the NL West with an 83-79 record, while the Mets win the East at 88-74. Meanwhile, the NL Central Champs are the Cardinals at 112-50 and the Brewers finish second in the division at 111-51. Oh, and the Brewers went 6-0 against the Giants, outscoring them 46-3 in the six games. You're saying that Milwaukee doesn't deserve a spot in the playoffs? I understand trying to make the regular season more meaningful as well as the post-season, but a one-month "second season" would only spark interest in those six cities, whereas the other 24 teams and their fans wouldn't give a rat's rear end for the entire month of September. They would completely move on to football (as opposed to semi-moving to football as they do now.) I think that would practically kill baseball and the importance (in culture) of the World Series. I'm not saying your idea is bad, per say. I wouldn't vote for it, though, if I was a voting member of the committee that decides these kind of things.
  7. kind of excited about this. I've waited all winter to hear Brewers baseball again, so I plan on listening to Ueck and Cor and catching up on my magazine reading (I'm about 2-3 issues behind in Baseball Weekly, SI, ESPN, and EWeekly.) Not a bad day to spend a windy blustry Saturday. Tomorrow will be even better since it'll only get to the high 40s ( = no yard work for me)
  8. "The River's Edge" is Keanu's masterpiece.
  9. I know what it's like at Maryvale regarding tickets etc. (no problem there) but what does anybody know about ease of getting tickets at Scottsdale Stadium? I've only driven by it in the past, never been to a game there. It's a 12,000 seat stadium, but I have no idea if this will be like Maryvale and pretty much walk up and get tickets with ease. I thought I heard that the Giants were a pretty big draw. Maybe that was just in the Barry Bonds days, I don't know. Also, anybody have preferences where to sit in their stadium? Keep in mind that bleacher seats and lawn seats are pretty much out as my mother-in-law will likely need a backrest for a 3-hour+ game. Sun angles to avoid getting fried (I don't mind--others in our party will mind)? Thanks!
  10. season 2 for Kim vs. Mountain Lion I'm thinking they just are using the Dana Walsh story line as filler for the times when Jack is traveling around NYC. I hope not, though, as that's a waste. I really hope it's actually going to go someplace along with the plot. But, yeah, this season has been typical Jack Bauer formula as past seasons. I still love it, though, and will still watch.
  11. yep, heck of a hockey game. Too bad the U.S. could do nothing with their power plays early on in the game. Most of the game reminded me of a video game--minus the outrageous scoring.
  12. don't forget those Boys & Girls Club of America commercials with Prince.
  13. I'm waiting for one of the "alternate-life" characters, probably Jack, to read a news clipping/see a newsreel on the 30th anniversary of the strange H-Bomb going off in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. "5. Rose living in LA not New York. I do not know if she had a ring on her finger" Her husband was on the plane with Jack in the "alternate-life" flight through the turbulence, although he was in the lavatory in the tail end as he was originally. After the turbulence, he returned to his seat and commented about not doing that anymore.
  14. I still have Mass Effect 1 on my Steam list. It's purchased but I haven't installed it yet. Probably won't in the near future. Maybe during the summer when I can give it 50 undivided attention hours.
  15. Thanks, dear! My schedule: Sunday: Deadwood (Directv 101--although I just finished it last week so I've finished the series.) Monday: 24, Big Bang Theory, CSI:Miami, Heroes, Chuck Tuesday: Lost Wednesday: Flash Forward (when it's on), Friday Night Lights (Directv 101--but it, too, is done for the season), CSI: NY, Criminal Minds, Human Target Thursday: Community (still not great, maybe season 2 will be funnier), Parks & Rec, The Office, Fringe Friday: usually watch a tivoed movie from during a free-preview weekend past Saturday: Sports, usually Sunday: repeat cycle
  16. without getting political, I don't see why suing for $25,000 is considered "frivolous." Especially when we don't know what kind of pain, suffering, and medical bills this guy racked up. A detached retina and cataracts? I can't think that's too inexpensive. And if he had to have surgury? That's easily very close to $25,000. The guy is trying to recoup the money he lost on medical expenses from something that, even though, accidental, shouldn't have happened at all. Was he at fault for not paying attention to flying hot dogs? That's for a judge and jury to decide, I assume. But the ticket back states that the team is not liable for injuries caused due to game action (paraphrasing). I wonder if you can argue that the mascot firing hot dogs into the crowd is "game action" or not? Good luck to the guy and I hope he gets well.
  17. what time is that hockey game on tonight?
  18. this is awesome news! I always told my wife that once the Brewers televise all their games in HD we will be getting the HDTV and programming from Directv. Guess that tax refund is going to a worthy cause this year!
  19. I will be in Phoenix on March 13th and 14th before heading back home. Nice long weekend trip.
  20. just remember, it's NEVER about the amount of posts but the QUALITY of the posts that are made. Welcome back, by the way!
  21. even though there is a small plane landing in the background, I believe those planes are just parked, probably de-commissioned. A lot of AZ airports are littered with them here and there. Heck, our very own Kingman International Airport has about 50 old TWA birds just sitting there. Good interview, by the way. Sounds like a pretty down to earth guy. I hope for the best from him.
  22. I thought it was Suzie Chapstick. Seriously, that was a crazy event. All those wipeouts were great to see (not that I'm cheering for them to wipeout, of course) to help the US team. Shawn White is like head, shoulders, torso, legs, and somebody else's head and shoulders better than everybody else. Amazing air he was getting.
  23. I turned it on as I went to bed. It was fun to watch again, except that it was the TBS feed so they were pretty yawnful even during the 8th and 9th innings. But at the same time, Daron Sutton would have woken my wife up, so all is good.
  24. my foot hurts. It's been hurting for 2 weeks. I think I have plantar fasciitis since it's the bottom of my foot that is sore. But it's not the heel area. It's the area of the ball in your foot. It bugs me.
  25. I have done the bobsled track in Lillehammer. It was awesome! I highly recommend it--totally worth the money. You go so fast that even though you see a turn coming you really don't have time to prepare for it. My head was bouncing all over the place. I stood no chance on those multiple turn areas of the course.
