  1. What if the pressure of being the ace is too much? Just my opinion from what I have seen and heard about and from Yovani. Pressure won't other him. He seems to be mature beyond his years and has ice water in his veins. He is a special pitcher and I can't wait to see him come into his own this season.
  2. Basically Melvin squashed any hope of Derek Lowe. Will probably add a pitcher but could go into season with what they have (Gallardo, Parra, Bush, Suppan, McClung). Talked about arbitration mentioned that Fielder and McClung have Boras as an agent, I had no idea McClung was a Boras client. Did not close door on a Sheets return, which I was happy about. Also didn't close door on a Gagne or Mota return, said it is a poker game right now. Sounded like they may have the payroll room to like last year acquire a big name around mid season again in a trade.
  3. Tonight they talked to Doug Melvin and right now are talking to Manny Parra.
  4. brewerguy71, I guess I forgot Drew and Tulowitzki. But I would say Hardy is just as good as those guys. And at this point in his career is better the Tejada.
  5. The only SS in MLB better then Hardy are Ramirez, Rollins and Reyes. That is it.
  6. Love the double Beckett with Fielder and Braun.
  7. Yo is going to be a stud. 16 wins and 200 K's. ERA of around 3.30.
  8. Bradley is a very good hitter, but I don't know about him playing in a league with no DH at this point.
  9. Awesome deal for the Rays. Burrell as their DH for two years at $8 mill per seems good to me. Even with all the Yankees are doing I still think the Rays can win that division again, and this only helps that opinion.
  10. Gallardo, Lowe, Parra, Bush, Suppan would be a pretty nice rotation, I just can't see Milwaukee offering enough to lure Lowe away from a big market team.
  11. I like Manny, think he is a great player. But I don't think I want to put up with him on my team. I don't mind his antics when he is doing it on a team I have no vested interest in, but I would not want him to be a Brewer. I would much rather keep Braun, Cameron and Hart as our OF.
  12. Exactly, I love McClung in the pen and as a spot 6th starter but not as our #5. I really hope Doug signs Lyon or Saito to close and can land one of the following for the rotation; Sheets, Lowe, Garland, Smoltz or Looper. Then I will feel really good about our pitching as a whole.
  13. I should have known it would be too good to be true to just be part of the digital package if you had the box. What a crock.
  14. Is that a game used Bush jersey in the picture as well?
  15. Yup, a healthy Riske could be a big part of the pen. He pitched well at the start of the season until he got hurt then he was quite bad.
  16. Yup, I'm hearing the same thing about the $4.95 for the sports package. It's so the "regular" customers don't have to pay a higher bill. So lame.
  17. Man I'm so pumped for 2/25. First game of the spring, so exciting.
  18. Say what you will, but I remember him being counted on quite a bit in games down the stretch. Specifically the Cubs game Torres blew in Chicago and then his awesome performance at Miller Park the Friday game during the last series. They counted on him then and he seemed to deliver to me.
  19. I would like to get Lowe, but not for Burnett money. I'm not even sure Burnett is worth Burnett money.
  20. That is my feeling. I would want him to close, but if not he would be a great 7th or 8th inning guy.
  21. Hmmm, mine still isn't working. If I have the box I should have the digital access package. At least the guy on the phone yesterday said I should be getting it. This really sucks.
  22. Thanks Patrick, I'm curious what they say. Find out what is up and if I still need a tech to come out to my place tomorrow.
  23. Don't underestimate the fact that Villanueva faced 11 hitters in the NLDS and retired all 11. I realize that's a very small sample and wasn't in a closing situation, but it was in the pressure of the playoffs and I think that left a very positive impression on Melvin. That is a good point. Small sample but a good point. I still like Villanueva though being the guy you throw out there in the 6th, 7th or 8th in the most crucial situation. Being able to go multiple innings if needed.
  24. I guess I wouldn't mind Looper at this point. Rotation would probably be then Gallardo, Parra, Bush, Looper, Suppan. But I'm still holding out hope for Sheets, Garland or a long shot of Derek Lowe.
  25. Yeah if he can cut down on giving up the gopher balls he could reach those stats. I would say an ERA around 4.15 with 13 or 14 wins is very obtainable for Mr. Bush.
