  1. Yeah blown saves is probably a better number to measure a closer. But if you have very few blown saves and a lot of saves you are doing a hell of a job. What was Gagne's numbers from 2003 and 2004 they must be crazy.
  2. Yeah just knowing that their is a Brewers baseball game today makes me feel like spring has arrived.
  3. Milwaukee Brewers (0-0) 2B Rickie Weeks CF Mike Cameron 1B Prince Fielder LF Ryan Braun RF Corey Hart 3B Bill Hall SS J.J. Hardy DH Gabe Gross C Jason Kendall SP Claudio Vargas (not batting) I really think cameron strikes out too much to be in the #2 spot. I don't like braun batting behind prince. Id flip jj and cameron and braun and prince. of course we have no idea if this is what he is thinking for once the season starts. Agreed, Braun in front of Fielder was a better combo last season. Also Cameron and Hardy should be flopped.
  4. Well then Gagne will have to shoot for blowing no more then 6. (pared back long nested quote --1992)
  5. I am actually giddy just to see what the lineup will be.
  6. Sox vs Crew on a Sunday afternoon in Boston on national TV, that is going to be a fun game. Braun is going to be taking a few over the monster in that series.
  7. Yes, but he was only in the upper right hand corner. Off the top of my head I can think of a few Brewers on the cover of SI. Fingers in 1982, Yount in 1982, a second Yount in 1982 and Deer in 1987. I think there was also a 1970's issue with George Bamburger on the cover too. Yeah the kind of sucked he only made the upper right corner. So I copied you 20fry and opened the issue to the two page pic of Prince and framed it like that. It was a great idea by you, saw it in the collections thread.
  8. I doubt he will blow 10. He will blow some everyone does, how many did Cordero blow last season?
  9. Jenkins wearing #10 and in another team uni? That just isn't right.
  10. I think he will save at least 40, maybe more. Game Over.
  11. Awesome! That is going in a frame for sure! All three of the guys were taken in the 2005 draft.
  12. Agreed Ennder, Hardy should easily hit 20 HR a year.
  13. Nice pics once again azcheesehead.
  14. Hmm, I actually think the 30 HR is more likely then the 30 steals.
  15. Woogie you have outdone yourself yet again. I just hope we get a Branyan tracker once the regular season starts.
  16. That sounds like a very tasty burger. I will have to try that out this summer.
  17. The main reason I have lost hope is someone sent one out to Ryan a few weeks maybe before me and he got his back quite quick, where I am still in the waiting.
  18. Does Gagne's contract have an option year? Or is it just a 1 year deal? If he has a big season as our closer do you think we would re-sign him to a longer deal?
  19. Nice! Maybe there is still hope for the Braun 8x10 I sent out forever ago. How far at the end of the season did you send them? I think I sent the Braun 8x10 in August.
  20. I love the Cameron and Kendall signings because they are vets who can get on base and Cameron brings great D to CF and got Braun off 3B. I was a pretty big fan of all the bullpen moves (with Gagne of course being my favorite) as well. I think this years bullpen will not wear down and will be enough to push us over the hump and into October baseball. Of course I think this team will be better then last year based on the fact that Braun and Hart will play full seasons and Weeks is 100% healthy for the first time and should show why he was the #2 overall pick in 2003.
  21. More new yahoo pics up. This one is bad ass! May become an avatar for me. http://d.yimg.com/a/p/sp/getty/fe/fullj.aa5e368235e01d636363a106320f5928/aa5e368235e01d636363a106320f5928-getty-78826639cg061_milwaukee_bre.jpg There are pics similar to this up of Prince, Hart, Hardy, Sheets, Weeks and Gwynn as well. No Braun though
  22. Even if Gagne fails as closer It's probably just because I have always been a huge Gagne fan even back to his Dodger days but failure is not an option. I hope we see Game Over Gagne again. Can't wait to hear "Welcome To The Jungle" blare through the MP sound system for the first time and see the goggles, hair and hat come through the bullpen door.
  23. You really do kind of look like Sandler in that picture.
