  1. I don't see the Brewers trading both Prince and Gallardo Of course not, neither do I.
  2. I'm still holding out hope for a Fielder trade to Boston. While Tampa would be ideal to get Davis or Hellickson +, I still think if we could get Buchholz + from the Sox I would be very happy. Baseball-Reference.com had a nice post about Buchholz today after his good outing vs the Rays from yesterday. Link
  3. I believe it was Fan Graphs that did a post about the top 5 GM's in the game. Doug Melvin was their #5. Only guys ahead of him were Friedman, Epstein, Cashman and someone else, can't think of them right now.
  4. Great article on Ryan. It has been awesome having him here for 4 years now, and at least another 5. Great player, great business man and seems like a great guy. They didn't mention he also has a deal with Nike, he is one of the Griffey Swingman athletes along with Carl Crawford, Orlando Hudson, Jimmy Rollins and Torii Hunter.
  5. Braddock sure does have similarities to both Wagner and as Bill said, Plesac.
  6. Well, if it's a save situtation, is Hoffman used? Big question as this game winds down.
  7. I believe in an interview he did after the season with Right Field Bleachers he said some not nice things about Macha. It sure sounded like they did not see eye to eye.
  8. Indeed. I'm worried about his delivery though. It reminds me of Billy Wagner's a bit and it seems rather violent. Hopefully he can stay healthy with it. If he has a career as good as Billy Wagner's I will be very pleased. And it's funny, he is wearing #13 as well. Good debut, I was very excited to see him pitch. While this series has not gone our way for the most part, seeing Lucroy and Braddock make their MLB debuts was a silver lining.
  9. I went to the Chicago one a few years back. It was awesome, so much cool stuff to see. I'm glad it will be back in Chicago next year. I will for sure be going for at least one day.
  10. I agree, good or bad this kid is fun to watch. He has so much potential! Ditto, he has a TON of potential. And he plays the game so hard and so much fire. I love him. And no matter what he does at the plate he is gonna play fantastic CF.
  11. If this turns into another Gamel situation with Lucory that will be 2 of our top position player prospects that were screwed within a 2 year span by team management.
  12. I think if they trade Prince, they should trade Hart as well. Especially the way he has been playing, his value might be increased a little with this hot streak he is on. I think Lawrie, Gamel or Cain may be in RF as soon as 2011 anyway.
  13. That's so dumb. It made sense with Riske because we're on the hook for his salary regardless, but why are we extending Gamel's service time just to delay a roster decision? Because it seems this organization clearly hates Mat Gamel. I kid, but with the the way they have handled him during his short career it sure seems that way sometimes.
  14. However, like I said in another thread, I'm thinking more and more that Fielder will not be traded this season, given Attanasio's recent comments about Macha and Melvin. I just get the sense he wants them to ride out this season and then "go for it" again in 2011. Ugghhh, if that is what happens that is a complete joke. And I will not think nearly has highly as I do now of Mark Attanasio.
  15. If Attanasio wants to hold onto Prince and ends up not trading him now or before next season, I will be very ticked off. You will get peanuts for him if you wait till the deadline next season. You have to move now. Sure the casual fans might be upset with the trade of Fielder, but the fanatic's like us know they have to do it to turn this team into a contender again. Only way they can get pitching that will be ready this season or next season at the latest. We have nice young arms in the minors, but they probably won't be ready till 2012.
  16. Who's rotation slot is he going to take? Garza? Shields? Niemann, Price, and Davis all have less than 2 years service time. I'll take whichever pitcher TB doesn't want to keep.Yup, I would take any of the current TB starters or Hellickson as a starting point for a Fielder trade. I just think TB is too smart to trade for Prince. I still can't believe they got the Twins to give them Matt Garza and Jason Bartlett for Delmon Young.
  17. If they keep Suppan up on the big league roster and let Capuano walk on May 29th, I would want Doug Melvin fired on the spot.
  18. Like Bill said, I don't think he watched it that long. He crushed that ball, whey can't he take a look at it? I like Gomez, he is intense and plays the game hard.
  19. Congrats to Jonathan. Nice hit there. Only bright spot of tonight's ball game.
  20. While I don't always agree with what Macha has done, this is not his fault. Maybe partially. But I put it more on Melvin and the players. If Macha is fired, I'm fine with that. If he isn't, that is fine to. I know we are not making the playoffs this season. That is why I hope they do the right thing and trade Prince and trade any other of the vets that they can and start getting built for 2011.
  21. Blackburn looks like he is going to throw a complete game shutout in well under 100 pitches, my goodness.
