  1. This year Clark is creating runs at an above average pace while being well below the average age. You could say the same for his entire career. The scouts generally have been impressed and project him well as he advances.
  2. Clark and Ray have me brimming with excitement. Very solid thus far and in position to explode in 2nd half. Outstanding prospects.
  3. Agreed. "The question with Adell has always been if he can make consistent quality contact" Not looking for another Ray or Clark at this point. Seeing as both are consensus top 100 type prospects, I'll take as many as we can get.
  4. This site shows stats versus team top 20 prospects. Link is for Lewis Brinson. http://mlbfarm.com/player.php?player_id=621446
  5. More proof that when your best hitter is in the 2nd spot, you will maximize your scoring output all other things being equal.
  6. It gets really exciting when you realize these are probably the three OF's with the highest upside in our system.
  7. It's been all of 14 games (6-8) but sure man.
  8. Hot starts G. Cooper: 41 PA .368/.415/.575 6 XBH 2:8 BB:K D. DeMuth: 32 PA .321/.406/.500 3 XBH 4:7 BB:K L. Aviles: 39 PA .313/.436/.469 3 XBH 7:8 BB:K J. Gatewood: 39 PA .323/.462/.452 2 XBH 8:10 BB:K M. Feliciano: 27 PA .292/.370/.583 4 XBH 3:4 BB:K M. Harrison: 36 PA .273/.333/.485 3 XBH 2:9 BB:K
  9. Schwarz may be a good target in middle rounds then as a reclamation project of sorts.
  10. 6 games lol
  11. I was *very* concerned Woodruff's gains were going to be a one year wonder type thing but it sounds like he is starting off just as nasty this year as he was last.
  12. Think so? I'm not as high on his D as advertised. Not yet, anyway. Yes I do
  13. If that's Arcia's batting line, he will be a 5-6 win player or more even
  14. Off days schedule line up in such a way that Jimmy didn't get game action.
  15. Sickels seems like the low man on us this year which is fine because I don't really consider him a primary source in this matter. Longenhagen (Fangraphs) and the BP group still do the best job with these lists from the well-known sites. I think the Brewerfan compilation is as good as any when purely trying to rank the players. Another perspective I think everyone should check out is from Rotowire's lead prospect writer, James Anderson. Similar to Longenhagen, James doesn't rigidly hold himself to a top 10 or top 30 list by team. If you are a 'guy you need to know' from a fantasy perspective, he writes about you. He recently published his NL Central piece and 96 prospects were listed. http://www.rotowire.com/baseball/showArticle.htm?id=31690 Brewers 27 Cubs 20 Cardinals 19 Pirates 15 Reds 15 Brewers Top 10 1. Brinson 2. Ray 3. Diaz I. 4. Hader 5. Clark 6. Erceg 7. Ortiz L. 8. Diplan M. 9. Lara 10. Woodruff He has Dubon all the way at 17 which jumped off the page most to me.
  16. Some rumors swirling that the 2080 list is kinda goofy. Should be fun!
  17. I'm actually kind of surprised he didn't get even deeper into the system. No Gabby Garcia? Still, this list pumps me up. ++ grade on Ray's bat speed? Wow. Longenhagen seems to like our star power in Brinson and Ray while giving guys like Hader, Diplan, Erceg and Diaz an outside shot at reaching that level.
  18. Should be out this week. I've enjoyed the new prospect guy that they added last year - Eric Longenhagen. I like how detailed his work has been. Yeah I have been following Longenhagen for quite awhile. Was he freelance before? I think Eric is really adept at separating the kernel from the chaff. It takes a lot for Eric to call a prospect a future star and when he does his track record is good. Also looking forward to more superlatives on Monte Harrison's arm. Last time it was brought up, he called it the best arm in the minors!
  19. I'm looking forward most to this Fangraphs Org List
  20. I really wonder if some of these brewers speedsters deserve increased projections in the SB department due to the aggressive base running the Brewers seem to promote/desire. This is and will be the fastest team in baseball for some time going forward, no?
  21. There has been so much turnover on the BP staff and I think it shows.
  22. Star players come out of all tiers of prospect rankings and all rounds of the draft. Don't get hung up on lists. The only prospect list that matters is the internal Brewers rankings and Stearns got his guy. That's good enough for me. Now just let the cream rise to the top.
  23. Gotta love pre-hype Red Sox prospects like Dubon and Pennington. Good system to cherry pick out of. Shaw improves the depth and versatility across the IF and I think he has the potential to be a tough out at the plate with some nice pop.
