  1. A blue dot appears Then 'in play, run scoring play' Brewers take the lead!
  2. Joe Table may be able to match the Brewers' arson-for-arson?
  3. Well, we can't know if a different set of pitching decisions would have made a difference. But everyone paying attention had to assume Davis was done before he started the 7th. A well-rested reliever with a five run lead and nine outs needed...that seems like a winnable situation. A much-less-rested reliever with a four run lead, a runner on, inheriting a two-and-oh count to the other teams' best hitter...still should be winnable but that's tougher odds. And in my mind, that' all a manager can do once the game starts, to maximize the odds for the good guys. Ah well...
  4. delaRosa pitched all of six and a third innings in June...last appearance June 17. Where's that guy who thought Yost was a genius with the pitching staff?
  5. Brewers play horible fundamental baseball. They read about that in Moneyball and figured it was a sure way to the playoffs.
  6. It is so generous of Dusty to lead off with Patterson and Perez. How many times has DLee batted in the first with no one on and two out?
  7. Perhaps Mr. Cruz will be otherwise occupied...isn't that the time of the Futures Game?
  8. I think Chapman is intriguing, but #70? What kind of baseball number is that?
  9. It's important to have an irrational attachment to a talented but flawed prospect. I'm looking for a new one while I wait for Pedro Liriano to prove everyone wrong.
  10. Given his scouting report, they should call him Eighty Ford. Come to think of it, I think I drove an Eighty Ford for a while...or was it a 78?
  11. I suppose there could be a trade in the works, but it's also nearing the all-star games so some roster wierdness probably doesn't hurt a team much with only a few games before the break....there's room for shuffling then. This is the time of year when rosters get churned a bit...late June after the draft is one of the top couple times for player releases, and guys anywhere in the system who are not progressing must be looking over their shoulder a bit. It sure seems like the time to move a pitcher or three from AA to AAA, with the resulting ripples throughout the system. If Pena is indeed back, Brevard has 5 and a half starters now (the half being little Unit) and could easily send reinforcements to the Huntsville rotation. Personally I'd be sorely tempted to bring Corey Hart to the Show and move up a Cruz or two from H'ville to N'ville. There should be in IF shuffle coming, too, when Braun starts playing...and Hernan sure seems to have shown he has learned what low A ball can teach him, even it means separating him from Escobar. I'm sure they've got plenty to discuss
  12. Among the many amazing things in that 12-run inning: Nelson Cruz, the offensive star of the team, hits into a DP then Ks to end the inning. After three games there looks to be very little room on the Salome bandwagon...perhaps the Gamel bandwagon can spare some seats. (Small sample blah blah blah...please don't take this seriously as I expect Gamel will be fine.)
  13. By the way, Corey Hart's only 4-for-5 thus far tonight for Nashville, with two doubles and a triple. God, that kid has done nothing but produce his entire career. Can we save Al the trouble and insert his usual comment here?
  14. Um, you have to think that iif Bill Hall would read this board, he'd say, wow, what a bunch of dorks...hey JJ, get a load of this one! Scoop, just remember...they're not booing, they're saying 'scoooooooop.'
  15. Some people take posters way to seriously. I was joking around. You should stick to less controversial topics than Cubs/Brewers...gay marriage, the war in Iraq, Social Security...in fact pretty much anything involving politics or religion would be less sensitive. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  16. Mr. Hall, if I am counting right, has 31 extra base hits among his 63...almost half of his hits for extra bases...and that's with a .306 average.
  17. Wow, a real race for most annoying today...
  18. over/under on cubs baserunners for Turnbow in the 9th: 2.5
  19. Oh how I love that little message: "in play, run-scoring play."
  20. Who was it that said the way to get Musial out was to walk him and then pick him off first?
  21. Also in the Wow category is Billy Hall.
  22. Wow. I remember that trade deadline when many baseball fans, and virtually all Brewers fans, looked at Sexson and Lee and were convinced that, if anything, Sexson was the better player. Plenty of people felt like the Cubs made a bad deal to get Lee. Who saw Lee's 2005 coming? And where would the Cubs be without him in the lineup. Wow.
