  1. Exactly, really in his new role, he has final say on scouting decisions. He will no longer have to worry about all the scouts & where to send them anymore. You have an amazing scout, let him just scout and help make final decisions for both draft & pro side. Johnson is head guy. He will send scouts places, work on the lists with scouts & cross checkers, and get board ready.... List & players will be run by Montgomery to help finalize things.
  2. Well..... Vaughn steps up or let's roll in 2017-2018!
  3. I say we trade Fond du Lac to OH. Then move our AAA team to Toledo. AAA problems WHOAA SOLVVD Hey now, leave Fondy out of this! Lol We were actually one vote away from being Wisconsin's capital! Brewers & Mark A need to just buck up and care enough about their future to invest into it. Buy a team outright & forget about all the drama every couple of years. Move a team to Madison, it will make money, is a one hour drive away for call ups, and is a pretty neutral (offense & Pitching) to play come May. Even if not Madison, find somewhere & buy own team.
  4. Madison a year or two ago was rated the 20th best baseball market. For amateur Northwoods League, they draw 6-7k a game..... Over 4,000 more than league average. Size of Madison doesn't matter as you stated. People in Madison love baseball & just show up!
  5. Contact and being too selective are to issues with him. Striking out a lot is not directly collated with plate discipline. Chris Carter has outstanding plate discipline, however he simple just can't make enough contact. He K's a ton. Since trade, I have preached Corey Hart Jr. May have an all-star year or two but most likely a reliable top of the order MLB OF. They have very similar body and tools outside of Hart being able to run a little more.
  6. ...once made Chuck Norris cry
  7. Going to be fun to see him & Broxton in same OF next year!
  8. Was at T Rat game today. Interesting to say the least.... Clark doubles, Aviles walked, then Diaz got drilled good to load bases then Gatewood got hit to walk in winning run! It was all with 0 outs. Harrison hit ball hard and well today & outside of one awful 3 pitch strikeout where he left runners stranded looking, he looked good! Erceg's first hit was essentially a swinging bunt... Went maybe 12 feet down 3rd baseline but he beat it out on an awful throw which put him on 2nd. Diaz of course barrels the ball. Smoked double off wall & ab before flew out to warning track. Mejia looked terrible offensively. Good arm behind plate though. Nice to see Ortiz go deep with his struggles since call up. Hader is an animal.... With 6 GS & 31 IPs exactly for both home & away, his numbers are very drastically different. His walks are a little high on the road but outside of that, pretty impressive.
  9. DSL Catcher Moises Perez.... 6HRs 10 doubles. 20/32 BB/K ratio. OPS of .750 with OBP still at .335 despite lower BA. Only turned 18 a few weeks ago... maybe it is time er start putting him on our radars. Until tonight, I never paid much attention to him. He wasn't suppose to be the stud catcher on this team to follow... stealing spotlight from Sibrian
  10. Coulter 2-4....... just imagine the year he could have had if he wasn't held back.... okay I'll stop now haha Seems he has got his confidence back though! Phillips a 3-4 night and HR! I really hope he has a hot month to finish season off. I don't another prospect beside maybe Jorge Lopez needs one more. Woodruff....geeez no words for that big cat! He has been sensational since his adjustment period ended. May be milb pitcher of the year for the Brewers.
  11. 50/50 mix I think for Coulter of hitting environment and mental. Like pitchers in Colorado Springs....failure for hitters adds up in BC. Not to mention being held back probably didn't sit well with him either and hurt confidence. He was one of my breakout picks this season when I thought his bat was going to be in Biloxi...I was pretty upset when he was held back and figured his stock would free fall and he'd struggle.
  12. Been saying it since the Brewers misplaced him to start year, get Coulter to Biloxi & let his bat play! BC is a graveyard for offensive players like him. Biloxi will give off a real look at what we have in him.
  13. Trent Clark is getting red hot! He's hitting like .360 over last 10! Since coming off DL think he is over .400 after today
  14. Well looks like it's for me to get the way too early "Free Brinson" train rolling! He's in beast mode in these 3 games! But the again it's still just three games ha
  15. Thank goodness! He is going to just mash rest of the season.
  16. Not to bad for home start....[sarcasm]still no Brent Suter though[/sarcasm] Man this TRats offense has really been fun to follow since June! Anyone know why Gatewood has missed like 4 or 5 of his last 5 or 6?
  17. Make it 7 IP, 6 H, 0 BB, 0 R, 0 ER... 94 pitches. EDIT: And he is pulled for a PH in the 7th... What kind of a prospect is Suter? Strengths and style? Hard thrower or finesse? Soft tossing, lefty, with good command.... Harvard brain. Solid #5 if needed in back end of rotation.... Probably will forever be most famous for the Harvard Call Me Maybe viral vide he was in. If you ask the right people on here like you did, you will learn all about how he is our #1 prospect & future Ace/ Cy Young winner.... Kershaw, Sale, Madbum have real competition for top Lefty in baseball.... For today though.... Segura & Lucroy Trade look nice, as does our 2016 draft! Phillips on other hand is simply lost at plate
  18. They want to get him experience this year, let him adjust, and get feet wet so he can take off running next season. I have no problem with that. Let him go through his struggles now, adjust, and figure it out.
  19. Gatewood will be a late bloomer. I think he is the type guy who will hit 26-27 years old in the MLB level and then just explode. All the tools have always been there. For a long time he was considered a top 5-10 lock. The holes in his swing scared teams off and he landed to us. There are players who have all the tools in the world but can not be coached due to ego... those are the guys who will fail. A guy with the tools plus an amazing work ethic/ is coachable....they usually will click. We have to remember, he is 20 and people have been very critical of him. I wanted him at #12 so I have always been a big supporter or his. With BC hopefully our A+ team won't be a place for young hitters to die anymore. Defensive..... I think he will be outstanding. If you have watched him, he really wasn't that bad at SS or 3B. Had a lot of errors but not many 18-20 don't at those positions.
  20. Well that can't happen since he was just drafted. Another user reminded me that the new rule is if the PTBNL is not eligible now, he's not eligible to be an option. This is the most confusing rule cause Tom H and others on Twitter say different. Let the PTBNL be Tavares and
  21. If you go talk to Rangers fans, the vast majority right now are far more disappointed about losing Brinson over Gallo. While Brinson doesn't have the absolutely incredible power tool of Gallo.... he is pretty much better in every other way as a player. He was ranked what, #16 prospect in all of milb to start the season? How can it really be complained about. I loved Ortiz coming out of high school and he has always been on of my top targets for them until recently. He really, really, really, really, NEEDS to get serious about his weight. He lets it float all over. It works for Colon and David Wells but if you don't manage that....nagging injuries are going to really hurt you career. Potential wise....kid has the arm. He knows how to pitch with command of his great stuff. He's advanced for his age and looks to be a TOR guy. At worst a #3. Very good get! To me Lucroy for Brinson and Jeffress for Ortiz is not very equal in value. Leads me to believe the PTBNL is no bum. Brewers have a list of pretty talent young guys and just want more time to figure who they want.... or they really like one of the two young arms they drafted. Overall....all winter most of my Lucroy trades had Brinson and Ortiz in it so.... I am happy.
  22. Cole Ragans or Alex Speas? I'd be interested in both those two. Rangers do great job internationally so Brewers may mine one of those talents out
  23. Tell mets, Texas has Gallo on table..... Rosario + or you are out
  24. Down to 42 minutes..... Let's go DS! Get it done again!
  25. Luc & Guerra makes most sense to me if Rays price is as high as it seems on their SPs. Guerra has been a beast this year & should add great value to trade. Take Gallo, Mendez, Tarvas, & wild card like Pedro Payano..... Deal
