  1. My thought was that the Brewers might want to develop a core of players together in Wisconsin. To that end, they might even bring Matos back. Neuhaus is also still just 20, so in repeating Wisconsin he would still be young for the league. On the flip side, Brevard has a chance to have one of the worst producing offenses the Brewers have ever put on the field for a full season minor league team. If they're going to win a lot of games, the pitching staff is going to have to post a lot of zeros. Houle, Leal, and Pray for a Squall? I was thinking the same with Tucker. He is so young and they are building a core. Let him come back and take that McFarland type offensive leap in 2nd stint. One thing he does have going for him and his ticket right now is his outstanding defense at both 2b & 3b. I would keep him moving around. As of right I think he projects more of a utility player at MLB level. Think with probable new front office staff, Weisenberg will finally get to AAA with Houle in AA, and Leal in BC. Think the days of Brewers refusing to promote catchers because they only want AAAA catchers at AAA are over. They have been surprisingly aggressive with Houle this season and he continues to preform. Not to mention you can't have your top 2 catching prospects and offensive bats having to battle for ABs and time behind the plate. A healthy Houle could become a real prospect for us. BC is going to struggle, gets death for hitters already so having underachieving bats to begin with won't help. Diaz will have a good season I believe & Alan Sharky is a sleep! His average has never been there really but high OBP guy who play outstanding defense. I completely agree that Iskenderian will skip A ball. I'm very high on him. I could also see Collymore or Belonis skipping over Wisconsin. Really with Harrison, Clark, Stokes pretty much locks, that really only leaves 1 spot for those two guys to be able to play almost every day. Denson or Kerkenny could end up in A+ as well. I think Denson fits more of the core player to keep in Wisconsin playing everyday to build around.
  2. Harrison, made adjustments and was raking before he got hurt so if healthy he appears to be a lock. Trent Clark is too advanced to repeat in Helena, I'd say he is a lock. Stokes hit .270 and had an OPS of .400. He appears to have pretty advanced approach at plate. Don't see him repeating Belonis & Collymore both have proven there way out of Helena as well. Maybe Collymore moves up to BC to start year? Demi & Segovia should be in Helena to start. Be interesting to see how that situation all shakes out. Collymore use to play 2b, Belonis was once a not great defensive SS, maybe he can learn 3b but won't bank on it.
  3. I really don't see Brewers holding back a top prospect who they have said can move fast back because other people aren't ready to promote. Essentially, they are going to put the top talent they feel can excel there. Can't say, well Trent is going to handle himself really well in Wisconsin but Elvis needs more ABs, let's just let Trent waste away in short season for couple months to see if Elvis can get going. Spring training and off season will make or break who goes where. But overall if Clark is ready to excel, brewers aren't holding him back for anyone
  4. Now he's really starting to heat up! OPS is over 1.000! He's walking a ton, hits are starting to flow in! He has me excited!
  5. I do if he is healthy, he would have been in Helena this year if not for injuries. Believe they kept him in Arizona to monitor and manage his arm more. The talent is all there. Burkhalter I could see repeating for sure. Kodi, not as much. I def don't see Williams. Brandon Diaz was cruising after an awful first month / month and a half, with our great wave of OFs, I don't forsee him or Rubio being held back. They are too talented and raw to not get ABs. Neuhaus is a guy who could slot in at 2b next year to start. He will only be 20 almost all season. Maybe his and Matos hot streaks to finish year help get them to BC as well.
  6. I think at the point Brewers sign Zimmerman, I need to move my focus soley onto the minor league side of things. All we need to do is piss away another 14-18 million on a pitcher instead of just giving our own talented guys who make league minimum a chance. I'd be outraged if they chose Zimmerman over Lopez/Hader. Just because the guy was from Milwaukee doesn't mean we need to over spend during a rebuild....do it the right way, if anything trade for a true ace when time is right.
  7. He's very confusing to me. He is a guy who has good plate discipline (too a fault), he has ability to go to all fields with power however he will not shorten his swing at all with 2 strikes him. He stays so long with his swing. With his ability to go with pitches and the way the ball explodes off his bat, if he'd just make adjustments with his approach late in counts, he could be very good. I see Corey Hart type player when I watch him. Same size, speed/athletic ability, power, and borderline All-star/core player type talent
  8. Bring him up to AA to pitch out of pen, as get Coulter up there for extra power bat! (Like Cooper, moving out of that offensive death trap will really wake up the bat) Biloxi Shuckers need to take home a championship!
  9. I'll take Dominquez, defensive is great, bat offers more than Perez. Both don't walk, Dominquez, has more pop that will play nice in Miller park. Perez May edge him by a little for average. It appears and well deserved that Cooper is now bypassing Ramirez in the pecking order at 1st base. I'd have no problem with Cooper being our 1st baseman in near future. He just reminds me of Overbay do much. To put up the numbers he did at BC for a 1st baseman is unreal, shows just how good of an approach and hitter he is.
  10. *Yawn* He is on there almost every week... Really hope they talk him into avoiding winter ball at least until late in season in order to have him focus on building strength to his frame. He has played a lot of baseball the past year, could use a nice lay off
  11. Did I miss something? Why is Mavrick Phillips out again?
  12. Lefty Ben Hendrickson?
  13. I'm assuming the deal was Santana, Hader, & Houser it sounds like. When Astros, offered up Phillips to throw in Fiers is what got the deal done. So if you compare the two trades it's would you prefer wheeler/Flores or Santana/Hader/Houser for Gomez.
  14. Lot of talented power arms! I'm saying a little prayer for Groome to fall to us wherever we are picking! But if not when you have Pint, Bergner, Whitley hopefully on board. Puk, Hansen, Tyler, Krook, Jones are the college arms that will be out there as well. I'm biased towards to prep players, that's just my personal preference. Give me Jason Groome in the 1st, C Andy Yerzy in the 2nd, i'd be estatic
  15. Not sure if this is suppose to be blue but Harrison, Lara, Medeiros are all 17-19 and not above low A ball.... If we were to do this now, we'd be selling extremely low on them, have to give each 2 more seasons at least before they start to assert themselves as legit top prospects that they have potential to be
  16. A valid question considering he may be on the 40 man roster bubble at season end. Was going to say same thing, strong gets called up in 2 weeks....
  17. Didn't even notice Santana started in CF last night for Sky Sox....real possibility we see him out there in Milwaukee
  18. If Santana is up for it, then no harm in it. Issue is if he's uncomfortable, unconfident and doesn't want to..... That would negitively effect him, his offense, and his growth. CF is tough
  19. Was thinking same thing this morning....praise Sandy! Wheeler & Flores don't even come close to the hale we got
  20. Yeah think you may have me lol If I knew how to change my name I'd be right with ya ha I got into an arguement last week on here because someone only thinks he projects as a #4 or #5 and isn't a top 100 prospect (which he is already ranked by at least 1 big, national, site) but I couldn't disagree more. He is only 21 and has only gotten better while being a top pitcher in every league he has been in.
  21. I'm the biggest Hader Homer on this site since the trade.... I really believe he is a future top of rotation guy! Right now I peg him as #5 prospect behind:Arcia, Phillips, Lopez, Santana. People forget that he is younger than Nathan Kirby and only a few months older than Ponce. So here he is at 21 becoming dominant at AA as he was dominant at A+ at 20. He just keeps getting better! Gomez/Fiers trade may have gave us at least 3 very good MLB players and a 4th who is showing he could be a talent as well!
  22. While is command wasn't there tonight, Hader continues to prove to me that he is a frontline guy and #2 pitcher in our system behind Lopez. He's hard to hit, his Ks have been increasing and he is still only 21 dominating AA!
  23. I think first and foremost, you trade the players at the major league level who have value, are blocking prospects, and not in future plans. That means you trade placeholders Khris Davis, Scooter Gennett, Matt Garza, and K-Rod. Lucroy & Braun are guys who could be the leaders of the rebuild or be traded for right offer but as of now are in future plans. Segura.....I still give him 1/2 a season next to decide on his future, either he will be traded or moved to 2nd. Once you get returns on those guys filling some holes at 3B, 1B, C and such then you can start looking to trade off of log jam pieces. The Astros have done it the right way, clear house of all the guys who are not part of your future plans, bring up young talent and evaluate, figure out who is your future at each position, sell of logjam prospects for MLB big piece talent. We want as many good prospects as humanly possible for when we do get good again so we can go out and get an Ace or All-Star 3B without crippling our system for the next 4-7 years again. Right now, Phillips over takes Taylor as CF of the future. Reed could be the better Parra type 4th OF due to his ability to just get on base, stealing/baserunning ability, and he has more power...defensively Taylor has him though. So that to me makes Taylor more flexible. Overall if I was GM, I am looking for a certain type of player who fits the goal of my major league team. If I was GM the most important qualities are: 1) Professional Hitters- who just get on base. High BB rates, prefer them to make good contact (Unless they are a Santana who walks a ton and hits a ton....and mashes the ball, I'll still target that) If you have 8 guys who can just get on base and make contact, your team will be in great shape. 2) Defense- All three OFs ideally are CFers. CF is usually your most athletic and talent defensive OF. If you have Trent Clark LF, Maverick Phillips CF, Monte Harrison RF some day.....that is a lot of speed and talent of there. The OF becomes very small for offense. In the infield, 2B, SS, and 3B should all be former SS's. This could simply mean Gatewood or Lara out grew the position but have the defensive talent like Manny Machado that you are a defensive asset, not liability. 3. Impact Speed/Baserunning/ Arms: attributes that they possess such as speed. Or look at Michael Reed, not fastest guy in the world but he can steal, stretch singles to doubles and doubles to triples. His base running impacts the game. Strong arms across the diamond with a lot of range helps defense a lot. 4. Attitude: Need to be confident, need to be a team guy, need to not be an arrogant, cocky, selfish, lazy, not hustle at times...Essentially if they are anything like Brett Lawrie, they can't be in the clubhouse. 2011 is perfect example of a team that has great chemistry and has fun. Moreover, guys like Trent Clark who never stop hustling will make things happen when you need them to the most. If your team gets on base a lot, plays excellent defense, can impact game on bases/field, and has hard working, hustling, good team guys.....you will win a lot of baseball games. Power is just gravy. Once I create my logjam in the minors, I find the guys who fit what I am looking for and then make trades accordingly to fill holes.
