  1. The thing Brandon Knight brought to the Bucks was he was the leader, floor general, and go to score. Since he has left....we haven't had a true leader the teams was run around nor have we had a go to scorer. We have not have the consistency that Knight brought us. Giannis will have 9 points, then 33, then 16. He is all over the map. Parker shows flashes but still isn't a major factor in our offense. MCW can't shot. Monroe is the most consistent presence we have in our offense right now but he is not a "go to scorer" at any moment of the game. Middleton has been all over this season and has not proven to be that guy either. Answer these two questions: Who is the leader of this team on the floor? Who is the go to scorer? I bet we get A LOT of different answers. Until we really have certain guys emerge to solidify those rolls, we will not be consistent on the court. Having coached sports year round, people don't give it enough attention. Leadership, having that player to depend on in tough situations, and chemistry really are the key. I have had extremely talented teams who barely made playoffs and lost 1 in done. Then I have had teams not very talented that have made deep runs in the playoffs due to leadership and chemistry.
  2. Figure a Marcum type gets a Lawrie top 20 prospect. A player like Smith or Davis could net a very good top 100 prospect but it would be a 1 for 1, head up trade. Davis could maybe get a top 100 plus low level high ceiling guy or high floor low ceiling AAA type. Sergura could still net a Top 100 prospect as well, we just won't get a big deal out of it. Either head up or get 1 top 5-10 prospect in there system with a top 20-25 prospect in system
  3. I don't fully understand how the pools work since Dodgers cannot spend over 300k on a play yet just spent 19 million on 2? I get they are taxed but makes no sense. MLB needs to go back and fix this again. They did the pools to make it far however none of the rich teams care about the taxes and bully there way through international signing. Dodgers essentially paid up Braun & Garza's 2016 salaries to bring the two kids in with all the taxes..... Brewers can't afford Braun & Garza alone, how are they suppose to compete in market when teams give that kind of money to teenagers?!
  4. Reymin Guduan makes me drool. Some team is going to take a chance on a lefty who can hit 100. Too many walks. Almost one an inning. It is the rule 5 draft, you take that risk because it low risk high reward. Lefties who throw 100 don't grow on trees. You just hope and he pray he puts it all together for you. If not, all you did was lose 50k (no much in baseball terms) and offer him back.
  5. Overall If I am going bat at 5 it is Rutherford or Lowe. The more I read about Lowe, the more he becomes my favorite! Great size, incredible athlete, power potential though the roof, cannon for an arm....oh and he can play 3B and OF.
  6. Has rise a bunch and shine like no other. You don't spend a top 5 in a loaded pitching class for a guy who looks like he will be going late 1st - Mid 2nd round. Plenty of time to do so but as of now no. Rutherford as Colby would say is the only prep bat that is really in the conversation as of right now. Kid can hit, no doubt about that but is him being able to hit with out many other tools enough to use a top 5 pick on. From Fangraph ratings So only 3 HS bats ranked in their top 30....which is pretty common from most lists I have seen so far. Just not a tone of high bats in the picture right now. Josh Lowe and Seth Beer are usually ranked pretty high 3B/OF Josh Lowe Seth Beer, OF, Lambert HS (Suwanee, Ga.): Some other Top Preps
  7. I would be will to trade Peralta as he is getting closer to being paid prior to us competing again. Nelson is our best pitcher on this staff and we have 5 more years of control of him...2 more at league min prior to arbitration. As long as Suter isn't in rotation I'd be happy. I would easily take Houser over him since Houser at least has a little upside. Nelson - Jungmann - Lopez - Hader- Davies/Houser
  8. You'd need another prospect in there for sure. Davis and Peralta are proven. Gallo is high reward but not guaranteed to produce like Davis already has. Luke Jackson has an arm on him however his star has been dropping and he has been in the bullpen now...Peralta had a down season however he still has more value than Jackson. I would definitely take it consider it if they could get on more lower level, high ceiling guy such as Forbes. How about this deal? Rangers get: RHP Wily Peralta OF Khris Davis 1B Adam Lind Brewers get: 1B Prince Fielder SS/3B/OF Ryan Cordell 3B Joey Gallo Here's my thinking: The Brewers can end up with a 2017 infield of Gallo at third, Arcia at short, Cordell at second, and Fielder at first. Outfield of Braun, Phillips, and Santana, and then they can try to either extend Lucroy or see what it takes to pry Austin Barnes from the Dodgers (I'm thinking a package centered around Nelson). Never will happen.....I am completely lost as to why in world we would try to bring back Prince? All Stearns talks about is bringing talented and controllable talent (speaking about pre-6 six year free-agency, making over 20+ million a year) into the organization. Not to mention, we are not planning on competing for a championship for another 3 years at least. 2017 is not really realistic since it usually takes Arcia, Phillips, and other young guys a little bit to really be productive at this level. As stated before... PRINCE IS NOT COMING BACK lol at least not until the end of his career, go back home type thing.
  10. He was a top 13 prospect for Yankees for a few years, he lost a whole season nearly in 2014 that hurt his cause. Really not much different than the prospect rankings Michael Reed has been around. Reed just offers much more on the bases.
  11. Still in love with the idea of trading Lucroy & Peralta/Smith to Rangers for a Profar, Gallo, and 1 to 2 lower lever upside prospects. Rangers are team most in contention who needs a catcher BAD. Gallo & Profar don't have opening day spots as starters as of right now. Profar looked really good in AFL. Pipe Dream I know but always hold out hope.
  12. Not even sure a video game like MLB the Show would accept trades like that. The first one with Prince makes really no sense to me at all..... 1) We are about start losing a lot of games so why would you bring Prince in? 2) If I am Rangers I am not giving up Fielder for Lind and Peralta, let alone throwing in a Top 10 prospect in the system, best catching prospect in system, and still one more player. Junior is a dime a dozen waver claim, David Denson has been stuck at Wisconsin/Helena and has not taken any leap to make his value go up. 2) Unless it is Braun, Lucroy, or Arcia, Brewers have absolutely zero chance to even get Dodgers to listen to trade proposals for a kid who looks like is is going to be a star. Nelson is not a true Ace who holds that much value. If he was on the Dodgers last year, he would have been #3 or #4 at best. Not the game changer that Dodgers would need for Seager. Maladondo holds very like value, he is a defensive catcher with very questionable bat. Segura is still young, controllable, but hasn't shown with the bat in 2 1/2 seasons....I'd def stick with Seager over Segura. You can just dump your trash off at someones door and ask for their gold. You really want Seager or Fielder? Better be willing to pay up....
  13. Lopez/Hader combination excited to see soon in Milwaukee!
  14. http://m.mlb.com/news/article/157830358/top-10-prospects-available-in-rule-5-draft Here's a good article on this years rule 5. Some interesting ones out there
  15. I was close, thought it was Enrique Cruz & Jeff Bennett...still I hope they don't go with 2 because the unprotected list isn't too impressive but I'd def take a short at 1 of them
  16. This. If he could at least walk to go with the slap hit approach and defense I would have liked him more. The Gallardo trade is centered around Dominican bonus baby Marcos Diplan working out. Sardinas didn't make much sense to begin with.
  17. Agreed, how's Danny Hultzen looking right now? Can't miss college ace.... No one is a sure thing because they went to college.... No one is a sure thing cause they went to high school. You simply take the one you feel has the best makings of being a future Ace. Why do we need this player to be ready in 2-3 years? Our goal is to build the best system, with the best talent, who will give us most sustainable future. I could care less if our #1 pick gets here in 2 years or 5 years, as long as they get here and produce in time is all that matters. It is that kind of thinking that landing us the great Eric Arnett. Taylor Jungmann was suppose to take almost no time to to develop...
  18. Over the next three- four years, who overs more to this club? Sardinas or Villar? Flores or Sneed? Villar has a better bat, a little more pop, and greater ability to walk with just as good defense as Sardinas ( even though Sardinas is still younger) Villar can play SS,3B, 2B, OF as a super utility Herrera type. Flores can play play all OF spots & 1b. Hits for high average and gets on base a lot. Profiles more as a Parra or Aoki type ceiling. Is said to be a pretty good defensive player. .....Sneed wouldn't be in bigs until 2018 at least and would need to climb over a lot of guys to get here I can't stand all the negitive/pointless comments. We added 2 super utility guys at the cost of very little who are currently upgrades. The offer solid bats, good defense, and tons of flexibility. Why is it that so many fans think if you are going to make a move it needs to be blockbuster, huge impact, game changing type? There are 25 players on the roster and you are only as good as you bench. Each player is important and obviously Stearns & his staff see as guys they they want to construct the team with. Can anyone please tell what returns they really wanted out of Sardinas and Sneed? To just say it's pointless to bring in bench flexibility is not even a decent answer. Depth is important. As many people say, bigger trades take more time than these straight up deals.
  19. Well, they have 40 slots, so they might as well use them just in case. Put the best 38-eligible on the roster and leave two spots open just in case someone interesting slips to you, another team wants you to take someone for them and you can make a trade, or another team has to remove a player and you can make a claim. You are also already starting his option years.... In the end, I believe Brewers wanted keep 40 man spots open until after Rule 5 draft at the same didn't want to risk Tigers losing Jairo. Once Brewers make some moves a figure out there plan for 40 man roster/rule 5, they will bring him in
  20. He was protected, however very well could be the other piece in the KRod trade which is even better! He was so awful this season but the talent is over flowing for him
  21. Never underestimate people's ability to recognize sarcasm when you forget to add blue.... (Sigh) I have been one of the people who most rejects Suter as a prospect. Not disappointed at all about the lack of him not being added
  22. Come on now, no one would put him #1 over Arcia.....He is his number #2 prospect
  23. I'm really am convinced it is Labourt. It is just the most logical for the description given.
  24. So Suter who is rank #2 top prospect in our system was not protected with Wang, Roache, Ortega. I could see someone taking a shot on Suter or Roache.
  25. Lol I was going to say the same thing, All I could see was SS Orlando Arcia, RHP's and my first thought was it was a trade
