  1. Seems like every time Middleton touches the ball he scores. Might need to get the ball in his hands more...
  2. I am so sick of umpires throwing people out of games for stupid crap. So often they screw up, someone gets mad, that someone gets tossed. These umps are pathetic, all 4 should be demoted to high school level at best and mlb needs to crack down on umps being such babies...
  3. The number he found was just finals. If you look at playoffs as a whole I think it's 6% if I'm seeing the same website he's seeing. https://www.landofbasketball.com/statistics/playoff_series_2_0.htm
  4. The Suns opened the game making 7 of 11 threes...and very few weren't at least somewhat contested. If they make 4-5 instead of 7 of those, we have the 10 point lead and can pile on from there. We played much much better than the Suns in the 1st quarter. I would like to think coach will look at that and try to play more like that in game 3. Giannis also should theoretically feel better and stronger each game going forward. He's such a devastating mismatch for this team(i mean he is for most teams but it's really magnified against the Suns), he's at maybe 90% and just wrecking this team. It would also be cool if Jrue stopped shooting altogether and Middleton showed up for a few games.
  5. I was given a statistical analysis through a friend that is working the finals and received it from a stat person for one of the teams. It's very brief but it showed based on shots taken, the Bucks win this game 88% of the time. The Suns were statistically expected to score 14 less points on 3s, and the Bucks were statistically expected to score 5 more points on finishes at the rim. Those were the big two outliers that swung the game. For those who haven't thrown in the towel on the series(~75% of posters in this thread) and are looking for a bit of optimism heading into game 3...there it is.
  6. Who cares how much we win by? IT's the finals. Win 4 games by 7 points total. WOrld champs. Sure, a win is a win. But will you feel like we truly won if after 2 double digit defeats we win game 3 at home by 1? Will that instill a lot of confidence going into the rest of the series? Or would a 15 point win instill more confidence in us AND the players?
  7. Middleton certainly disappeared. Game 3 will be pivotal if we're gonna have a chance. If we don't win by a dozen or more game 3 the series is pretty much over. Even a 3-4 point win would feel like we squeaked by and didn't deserve
  8. I really don't see the suns as a far superior team by any stretch. Bucks also shooting 25 percent on 3s of which a majority are not super contested.
  9. The bucks looked so good on both ends of the floor in the first quarter. Second quarter was a different story
  10. If the bucks played better and the suns shot closer to a reasonable 40 percent from 3 point range we're tied
  11. He has a plan, I love it. It's nice not seeing Paul swish wide open 2s all game, at least at this point
  12. A few of my friends really dislike coach bud, specifically noting that he doesn't make good adjustments to win playoff series. It's very critical he comes up with some sort of adjustment for game 2 to avoid the Paul/Booker vs Lopez/Portis easy buckets. There are a lot of options. Go with the 4th quarter lineup, switch much less, zone, have lopez/portis get closer to avoid easy mid-range jumpers and have help defense available when they drive past, etc...probably quite a few more, he's the coach it's really on him to figure it out. But a guy like me who is not much of a basketball guy at all could see exactly what they were doing and the success rate...and realize it's a problem. We certainly won't win if Paul is iso'd vs Lopez with 15 seconds on the shot clock consistently like what happened game 1. Also, it would be cool if calls went 60/40 in favor of the suns vs whatever awful ratio happened last game.
  13. Weird, bud FINALLY makes a significant adjustment and we're up 11 this quarter. Giannis at the 5 and don't let them abuse Portis and Lopez in space. I don't think they had their best personnel in to start the quarter so we'll see how the next few minutes go. They seem to be targeting connaughton on switches now, and Middleton to a lesser degree.
  14. He looks good because he's 1v1 iso against Lopez or Portis all night. In that much space it's a huge mismatch and we need to adjust
  15. I'm not as doom and gloom as some on here right now. My biggest issue is this pick and roll. Imagine if in football a team kept running a 10 yard out to the same player and the team converted it 90 percent of the time...and the defense didn't make any adjustment to try and stop said play. It's literally the exact same thing every time down the court and the bucks aren't doing anything different. Force a switch, dribble to your spot, easy jumper from 12-15 feet. Lopez needs to play less or we need to switch less.
  16. They did pick and roll with Middleton the first few minutes, but then yes suddenly stopped. And it was working to a large degree. I feel like slower possessions would do us a lot of good.
  17. The biggest issue I see, we need to find a way to stop then from switching to get Lopez on Paul or booker with 12+ seconds left on the shot clock. Even if it means Lopez plays less. Literally their entire offense is running through that strategy right now.
  18. I get a little sad every time I see a hint of soccer flopping in basketball games. Its been better ever since we weren't playing the nets anymore but seen a few already this game
  19. If giannis proves relatively healthy, we stack up with this team just fine. Right now they keep forcing switches and getting Lopez 1 on 1 with booker and Paul. We need to figure something out for that. The shots they are making aren't open and easy shots but if they keep falling we need to adapt...
  20. We need to keep abusing our size advantage. I think more connaughton will be beneficial defensively.
  21. I feel like he's making really bad decisions every time he touches the ball. Ball hits his hands and he feels required to take a dumb shot. Far cry from his game 6 performance
  22. I wouldn't say it's "really good". It is when you consider he just hyper extended his knee a week ago, but he seemed clearly not 100 percent to me. That said, I think he's preparing to play and will log 15-20 minutes today.
  23. Tellez currently has a 1.038 OPS in 55 plate appearances with Toronto's AAA affiliate. So he is, in fact, hitting well where he's at. He was, however, not hitting well in his earlier time with Toronto. Fair enough, I had not realized he was sent to the minors. Makes sense as 1b is beyond locked up at this point and they can rotate guys producing at the DH spot.
  24. i am mildly concerned about thinning out the bullpen too much. I'm not sure how much Tellez adds. He's not hitting well where he's at, and the "hitting into bad luck" thing is probably considerably attributable to hitting into the shift too much and being reeeeeeeeally slow. A couple things I find interesting in his statcast data...he hits offspeed very well. In fact, he seems to do more damage against offspeed than fastballs. Also, how does a guy with a 13.2% barrel percentage have a 209 average? Even considering the shift and he's slow, that's still pretty darn unlucky. I'll also generally add, our lineup is better suited to hit RHP vs LHP. So it seems weird to target a platoon LHB in a trade.
  25. Nice collection of quotes. I'm firmly in the keep the rest rolling camp. It won't be noticed, but I think we'll generally be glad we did so in September and hopefully beyond. No sense in pushing these guys with an 8 game lead. I feel like we're setting up really well for the 2nd half with the rest we're getting
