  1. I wouldn't mind TLR devastating another team with his toxic brand, but this white sox team is a fun and exciting team and he's going to wreck it. The fans generally have long since moved on from the "unwritten rules" crap. On a sidenote, does any other sport see players thrown out for such frivolous garbage as what happens in baseball? As far as I'm aware, every other sport doesn't allow umps/refs to throw players out for such minor slights as what happens in baseball. Very rarely will I agree with an ejection. People should start asking for a refund for their ticket when Kris Bryant or Yelich or whoever gets thrown out in the 2nd inning because they tell an ump they got the call wrong...and now they don't get to see their favorite player play the rest of the game.
  2. Also, I remember some of the 95 mph fastballs he threw to 1b on easy comebackers...in just about all cases it was completely unnecessary
  3. I put gallardo ahead of greinke and woody ahead of bush. Otherwise that seems correct. Also get marcum off that lost. Sheets was hilarious at the plate. Sometimes I swear he went up there intent on closing his eyes and taking 3 big hacks and hoping for contract.
  4. I also can't imagine they require proof. So probably if you think you can handle said child in your lap all game they can probably get in free.
  5. Most roster spots are earned. .269/.327/.411 across thousands of minor league at bats tells us Taylor hasn’t forced his way on to the big league roster. It’s great he’s a 2nd round pick that made it to the big leagues and if he develops into a 4th OFer like Ben Gamel that would also be great. There’s nothing about his skills set or number, except the 90 at bats he’s gotten in his thee cups of coffee in the majors that warrants making him part of the future plans going forward Looking at minor league numbers as a whole are completely meaningless, especially across such a large number of seasons. How is it relevant that in 2015 he posted a 640 OPS at AA at age 21? Looking at the last 3 seasons is going to tell you way more than those early years. 2017 he posted 865 OPS, 2018 he posted 825 OPS, 2019 he posted 804 OPS...worth noting in 2019 we had moved to San Antonio, so the whole Colorado Springs thing is no longer a thing that year. All that while being a very good athlete and very solid in the field. Based on your thought process, probably would have been stupid to make Manny Pina a part of the future plans. After all, he posted a 714 career OPS in the minors. Or maybe the Brewers looked at his prior 2 seasons of 850+ OPS combined and saw his very solid defense and realized he could be a solid piece.
  6. Especially when he came off because of a little gentle guidance from the tagging player. Anyone else see rojas kinda lift his arm a bit?
  7. On a side note, does anyone think JBJ is at risk of losing playing time to Mckinney if/when we get back to full strength? definitely not in CF, but on off days for Garcia/Yelich...Mckinney might be a better play right now.
  8. I kinda felt like we stole that one yesterday. 3-1 win against a top 5 team off homers from Urias, Mckinney, and Taylor...that was a lucky one for me. Here's hoping we can scratch out some more with half our best position players on IL
  9. Yikes. Maybe send him a video of piazza getting hit in the face with a ball and knocked unconscious, and ask if he'd like that to be him. I mean, eye for an eye right so now we should throw at him? Or, some ways of previously doing things were just really stupid...and we are evolving. The whole idea here is to take administrative measures to minimize injury. It's the same reason the nfl started cracking down on big hits on wr over the middle. The goal is to change behavior for sake of player safety...
  10. Everyone on this board knows it isn't option a. And option b makes all the sense in the world...
  11. For throwing at woodruff. Good to see cardinal style baseball get punished. I'm not sure ross called for throwing at woodruff so that part seems weird, but I suppose managers responsibility. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/cubs-ryan-tepera-suspended-for-throwing-at-brewers-ace-brandon-woodruff-david-ross-gets-one-game-ban/amp/
  12. DFA. Seriously, if he can't even pitch mop-up innings without getting in trouble or requiring somebody to warm up behind him. What's the point? There's a reason he's pitching mop up. He's not Burnes, he's not going to just strike everyone out. He's actually been pretty successful in this role, It got exciting once but by and large he's nailing these innings down with little commotion.
  13. In this case I think when the lead became 7 they just figured they'd let the bullpen mop it up.
  14. 100% agreed. Especially considering it got to 3-0. But even 3-2 just take the strikeout, don't really need him on the bases anyways. Save your energy for the 7th. I know nothing about anything, and that's ok...
  15. 100% agreed. Especially considering it got to 3-0. But even 3-2 just take the strikeout, don't really need him on the bases anyways. Save your energy for the 7th.
  16. His command is a serious yikes. If I'm Urias, I literally set the bat down until it's 3-2 count
  17. Absolutely not, he's on a roll. I think you let him go minimum 7 innings. I think he's only around 80 pitches so 1 more inning should be easy enough. If it was 0-0 and 2 outs with burnes up bases loaded...I think you pull him. With a 3 run lead I think you let him keep carving.
  18. Come on, rip a grand slam here and give Contreras a "shhhhhh" when you cross home plate...
  19. What's with this umpire? 2 terrible calls already. Is it angel hernandez? Both benefit us but I'd much rather calls be correct...
  20. The Cubs are the only team in baseball with a worse AVG and OPS than the Brewers.
  21. Many Cubs players have said they don't believe it's intentional, but are calling us out for being sloppy on how we pitch inside and need to be better at it. Their whining should be treated completely as white noise. Many players on that team crowd the plate, but HBP hasn't been an issue because others like Rizzo(notorious plate crowder) aren't whiny man-babies and understand that crowding the plate results in more HBP. AND...there's plenty of evidence of Contreras actually leaning into pitches trying to get hit. My opinion is the Brewers shouldn't change their approach one iota. Keep pitching inside, try not to hit guys for strategy reasons(we don't want baserunners)...not because Contreras might get mad and have a temper tantrum. And absolutely no intentional HBP for message purposes. We aren't the Cardinals and screw the unwritten rules(though apparently the Cubs are now subscribing after that pitch by Tepera). I'd much rather one of the Brewers do a Castellanos when he gets to home plate after a HR right in Contreras face...much better message.
  22. He's worked out for 2 starts. He admittedly went from one of the worst defenses in baseball to one of the best. I kinda expect him to level out as a meh pitcher. ERA in the mid 4s, I wouldn't be too concerned about him pulling a Miley or something.
  23. While it's great the offense has improved to a 623 OPS since I posted on this earlier this week, we are still currently 2nd lowest in ops and 2nd lowest in avg. The only team we beat in those categories is the Cubs, which admittedly is fun considering their antics yesterday. So while the offense has improved, still a long way to go to make up for that dismal first week of stats.
  24. Man contreras is so gross. I'm all about celebrating your hr, but him doing that is just him being a punk. Gets a chip on his shoulder over hbp when he's consistently leaning into inside pitches trying to get hit, then makes a good swing and goes dramatic bat flip and shush the crowd. What a punk, I hope a brewer hits a hr tomorrow and points at contreras or does something to get under his fragile skin
  25. He was really the only logical option. He was the only righty remaining on the bench outside of Pina. Well right, I think I'd rather let vogelbach bat. Well at least that was my thinking at the time. Clearly I was wrong...
