  1. That’s like when they used to say in the days before advanced stats that Ozzie Smith saved his team 150-200 runs with his great defense. That made sense if, and only if, the alternative was no SS at all. You’d have a lot of routine grounders bounding into left field
  2. First string lineup tonight Would be nice to see 5 or more runs tonight. Except for Sunday the offense hasn’t been clicking for the last several days. Several players have been scuffling.
  3. Let Siegler play 3B for an inning before he gets optioned tomorrow to make room for Hoskins.
  4. How can BA keep talking about Quintana just making a couple,of bad pitches when he walked a couple,of guys to set up a grand slam.
  5. Woodruff’s first start was July 6, not June 6. Not sure if that was just a typo of if you included one month too many in your numbers.
  6. Nats with two home runs have four in the top of the ninth with none out to go ahead 5 to 3
  7. Always easier to pitch with a big lead and less, pressure. My guess is that with an off day Thursday and the following Monday they might skip his next turn or push him to next Tuesday.
  8. Several Sunday lineup possibilities for today: 1. Siegler at 3B for Durbin (likely). 2. Monasterio at SS for Ortiz (very possible) 3. Jansen at C (Likely) 4. Chourio with a day off as part of the revolving OF plan. (possible). 5. Contreras with a full day off, no DH (Just kidding) 6. Bauers at 1B for Vaughn and open up DH for Contreras (probable). Yelich will not be in the starting lineup today per Murphy's comment last night.
  9. The way I remember that, when it came to the end of the season Cooper was offered the opportunity to play in one of the final home games but he declined.
  10. The Giants led the Cardinals 2-0 in the 9th but lost, blowing a chance to move closer to the Mets.
  11. Yamamoto had a no hitter and a 3-0 lead with 2 outs in the ninth. Holliday broke up the no hitter with an HR and Yamamoto left the game. The Orioles added 3 more to win 4-3.
  12. This is being played like a getaway day game. “Let’s get our ABs out of the way as quickly as possible so we can get out of here and move on.”
  13. So, what you meant to say is that there is a poster who said the Cubs are going to “blow right by” the Brewers and there is at least one different poster who said the Brewers suck. I really can’t remember anyone flatly saying for quite some time that the Brewers suck.
  14. That’s good for people on the board who are not Badger fans and I’m sure there are many..
  15. I think there was one. I also think there are many posters who seem to interpret “the race isn’t over yet” as “”The Brewers suck and are going to blow it”.
  16. My prediction the other day of the Brewers playing shorthanded for 4-5 days then putting Yelich on the IL is halfway home. Is there something wrong with Collins too or is this a case of rotating days off for OF?
  17. Maybe September 16 for Megill, maybe late September for Hall. Both of those seem like best case scenarios with no setbacks.
  18. I discount someone with a long injury history who is on the IL at the time of the transaction and has to be treated with kid gloves when he returns until he predictably gets hurt again. That was a gamble that obviously didn’t pay off.
  19. The Giants are now 4 behind the Mets and Padres and 6 behind the Dodgers with 7 games left against the Dodgers. So, they can’t be ruled out if they can maintain their hot streak.
