  1. I wonder if we’ll be seeing Harper make his debut at 1B tomorrow.
  2. Adames’ hot streaks seem to last for 2 or 3 days then he reverts to pulling off everything.
  3. I was hoping Teheran would be pulled to start this inning given that it’s a big shutdown inning.
  4. How can Dillard have the audacity to say that it seems like when Winker comes up in a big spot he delivers?
  5. The third pitch (ball 2) is completely out of the picture. The Giants prevailed in 10 innings.
  6. The Giants failed to score in the 8th. With the bases loaded Sims threw 5 pitches to Yastrzemski that were all several inches to a foot or more out of the strike zone, but he swung at 3 that almost hit him in the leg to strike out.
  7. If it isn’t still raining there, the first result of the night will be the completion of the Reds-Giants game that was suspended last night. The Giants will be starting with runners on second and third with one out in the top of the 8th. They had the runners on with nobody out before Conforto made out and the game was called.
  8. Looking at this from the bright side, with the IL stay being retroactive and the off days this week and next, Miley will only be out for sure until the weekend in Atlanta. The Brewers shouldn’t have much trouble covering the 9 games between now and then. If this is nothing more than a little “discomfort” it might be prudent to give Miley some rest now with the hope that he will be ready for the next longer stretch with no off days and in better shape later in the season. Realistically, we knew all along that with his age and history he wasn’t likely to make it through a whole season without some time off. I have a hard time even considering this (and his previous IL stint) to be bad luck.
  9. I see that the Reds have called up Encarnacion-Strand from their warehouse of prospects. It will be interesting to see how the Reds, especially their offense, respond to scoring just 3 runs in those 4 losses to the Brewers. Will that prove to be just a brief slump in the midst of a hot streak or the beginning of a fade back to .500 as projected by Fangraphs.
  10. Great comeback win. Wish I could have watched it. Thanks Spectrum. maybe if they can get service restored I can watch the archived version later today.
  11. Winker’s (hopefully) last AB for the Brewers was a productive one.
  12. The bottom line for me is these were some big wins that do nothing to alleviate concerns about the long term prospects.. A team has to be able to win some games without relying on 6 shutout innings from the SP and shutout innings from each of the top 3 relievers. The Brewers aren’t very good at that.
  13. You missed the announcement that Tellez is now out 3-4 weeks after. A “fluke” accident chasing BB fly balls.
  14. Monasterio makes way too many misplays.
  15. And Miller can’t look at the third strike he did. The “heart” of this lineup is sad.
  16. Hoping to get through this Winker at bat with just one out.
  17. His sons are out of high school but his daughters aren’t. He did have the good fortune of seeing his youngest son play for the state championship (which they won) because that was the week the Brewers played in Minnesota Tuesday night and Wednesday afternoon. So, he was able to see the quarterfinal game on Monday morning and the semifinal and final on Wednesday and Thursday nights.
  18. This has the makings of a Meatloaf game.
  19. They are doing him a favor giving him a chance to play with the hope that some other team might give him a shot. It’s not like he is taking playing time from a hot prospect.
  20. Very tempting depending on what their plans are for starters for the 9 games after the day off. I know I would like to see Burnes pitch 2 of those. Maybe Thursday against the Phils and next Wednesday against the Reds.
  21. I won’t have that problem today. Our spectrum internet and cable service is having intermittent interruptions so if I leave the game on, I might see one pitch before the picture freezes and pixelates. That’s even more annoying than the stadium noise so I have to turn it off. i’ll have to follow the game through the data on my phone.😡
  22. That would make sense. I would expect to see Wilson and Milner too. Even with the day off tomorrow I don’t expect to see all of Peguero, Payamps, and Williams, even if the Brewers have a chance to win. This could be a game where the Reds offense breaks out and the Brewers can give several relievers work in a lost cause.
  23. I wonder if the Pirates would be willing to trade Santana to a division team.
