I was thinking about this too. As a holder of a weekend 10 pack for the last 18 seasons, we are often treated to some vintage "Sunday lineups".
Today is one of our games, so I was thinking about some of the moves Murphy might make.
1. Sit Hoskins because he has played 2 days after coming off the IL. Bauers starts at 1B and bats 4th or 5th depending on who else is sitting. I think this move is likely. Hoskins definitely wants to play in Philly.
2. Sit old man Yelich to rest his back. He has played several days in a row now and they want him ready for the Phillies. Maybe not likely but wouldn't surprise me.
3. Play Dunn at 3B to give Ortiz a rest he shouldn't need and Dunn a chance to play he hasn't earned. Sadly, I think this is at least 50-50.
4. Find a way to get Monasterio in the lineup. Maybe Turang or Adames "needs" a rest. shouldn't happen, but again I wouldn't be shocked.
5. Give Contreras his first full day off this season. This one actually might make sense but I don't think Contreras would go for it. Expect him at DH with Sanchez catching.
Imagine this lineup:
Turang SS
Contreras DH
Bauers 1B
Sanchez C
Perkins CF
Chourio LF
Dunn 3B
Monasterio 2B
Frelick RF
This would give all of the old timers a rest, get the reserves some AB's, and maintain the integrity of the left-right lineup. If you expect this, it's likely that the actual lineup will look batter.
