They said earlierthat the Pirates have gone 26 games without scoring more than 4 runs in a game. If I heard it correctly they said this is an all time major league record. They’d better not end that streak tonight

Way to bunt your way out of an inning

I think the better way to,put this is that a guy gets to make his first MLB start against the Brewers. .

A trip to Pittsburgh wouldn’t be complete without a couple of rain delays and tonight might deliver on that.

I doubt if they would be much improved, if they would be improved at all, when you factor in who would be playing in his place. This team is full of holes and Yelich is just one of them.

One good thing about a team that is obviously going nowhere is that games like this don’t upset me.

Tell him to go up there concentrating on hitting to the right side. Do that and you probably have a better chance to move the runner to third with either a ground ball or fly to right. Maybe by concentrating on going to right would improve that .169 average. The bad execution reveals that he doesn’t have good fundamentals for laying down a sacrifice bunt. That makes it a terrible call in my book.

There are several things about Levering that annoy me but the most frequent is the “SWEEEENG” thing. Maybe I was imagining it but when he was on the Fox telecast on Saturday it didn’t seem like he did it anywhere near as often. Or maybe it was just that Wainwright was so annoying that Levering seemed OK.

3 for 16 is pretty close to what the team BA has been this month so it’s about what you should expect.

I was just going to say something to the same effect. Yesterday Mears gave up a ringing double and the saved home run. You have to wonder if he is showing the sign of heavy usage. There are several others at risk of the same.

So, 4 straight Salvage Sundays in a row. The Brewers are now 3-0 in the games we’ve attended this season. Nice to salvage a win, but I had to chuckle listening to the postgame on the radio on the way home. They were talking to Frelick about how hitting can be contagious and getting a few RBI hits can turn things around. Maybe the offense will start producing, but I can’t ignore the fact that today’s 3 run inning was triggered by a minor league pitcher loading the bases with walks. After the 2 RBI singles the Brewers had no hits for the rest of the game. Maybe the struggling Orioles can provide a remedy.

At the game today hoping for a Salvage Sunday. After that first inning it’s more likely that we’ll be home by 3 watching the end of a no hitter on TV.

One of those games where the vastly superior team pounds on a bad team. Like the Cubs rolling over the White Sox.

He did, but that’s about as far as he can hit it unless he’s got a gale behind him like he did on Wednesday

This is a mismatch like playing the Cubs. The Brewers can’t compete with a team that consistently puts the ball in play with hard contact.

Correa and Buxton collided going after a popup in today’s game in Baltimore. Correa left the game immediately and Buxton left after an inning. The report now is that both players are in MLB’s concussion protocol which could affect their availability for this weekend’s series. Maybe a bad break for a team that has won 11 straight.

Yes, they are that desperate. They finally get a multi run inning and they act like all of the problems are solved and now the runs are going to flow freely.
